It was one of those slow, thoughtful evenings, the sort that caused a quieter being such as Ayo'obi, to sit back and reminisce...and to want company of the adult sort. Even if it was just another lion to talk to in a reasonable sort of manner.

There was nothing wrong with Chiamaka, the little juvenile lioness in his care, but she was just that...a juvenile, and with that came a certain level of immaturity that, for some reason, he didn't feel like dealing with this particular night. He'd already hunted for the both of them, and his stomach was full...so he told her that he was going out, and not to wait up for him. Nosing at her gently and swatting at her playfully with one massive paw when she pestered him with questions as to where he was going and what he was doing, he brushed them all aside, and then headed out...casting a glance at the swiftly setting sun.

He didn't know where he was going, or even the complete why of it...he just felt restless, the longing to see another...another adult of his kind, mayhap a lioness. Boredom and a certain stagnancy had been consuming him, and he'd had enough of it. Let's see just what lay on the other side of the rise, now shall we?

Some lionesses were just waaaaaay too annoying to even bother hanging around. It had been one heck of a day at the council meeting. Not only had one of the Queens gotten rather upset, but the entire council started to argue the case. With some roars here, a few swipes there, and some multicolored fur flying about, Aziza had finally had enough. Today was just not the day to be 'home'.

"Now... Where the heck am I?" Her light pink eyes scanned the area, nothing seeming even in the least bit familiar. She had never really left the pride before now, as she never had a reason to leave. Having been pampered and loved upon by everyone all her life, Aziza just never saw the point in wandering away. Now that she did have a reason though, she was lost... As much as she hated to admit it.

"Great... Just, just great. It couldn't get any worse than this."

Ayo had been wandering about for some time, with no clear idea of where he was going. He knew directions, and how to get back to Chiamaka, but beyond that, he didn't honestly care where his paws might lead him.

And Aziza was not precisely camouflaged in current surroundings, and almost immediately, the red male noticed her, green eyes lighting up. Ah, company. Drawing closer, he approached her with a certain caution, as Ayo'obi was not so naive as his young charge, and he was well aware that not everything was as friendly as it appeared.

"Ah...hello, Miss..." He started out carefully enough as he padded close to her, inclining his head politely, "Where might you be headed on this pleasant evening?" Not that she had necessarily had had a pleasant evening thus far, but Ayo wanted to be optimistic.

Stopping, the purple lioness simply stared at this... Red thing, her ears flattening against the top of her head. Her eyes narrowed and her tail flicked behind her, rather irritated. Just what she needed right now... Some buffoon who thought that he was all that because he didn't know any better. Of course!

"Why must you know where I'm going, hmm? Why is it of absolutely ANY concern of yours?" Her pink eyes looked him over, checking out his markings and colors that he sported. A nice mix of reds with green eyes. Had he been a female, he could of easily ranked higher than most lionesses in the pride, due to his rather rich coat. He wasn't though. He was a male... A buffoon... Dirt... Absolutely worthless... Yet Aziza found herself attracted to him. Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid!

Ayo'obi blinked calmly, not at all intimidated by her rather abrupt mannerisms, but she was a lady, a female, and his mother had taught him to be wondrously polite to those of the feminine persuasion. "Ah...well, actually, you just looked a little disoriented, and I was wondering if I could be of assistance." He rumbled, his low voice sounding moderately apologetic. It wasn't as though he fully comprehended the prides and the way they worked around here, so it was best to be careful...so as not to transgress over pridal law or whatever customs they observed.

Naturally, had he known that females ruled her pride, he might have been ten times more cautious upon first meeting Aziza. "Pardon my rudeness, I have not introduced myself...my name is Ayo'obi." And he hoped that by that, he might get a name in return. "It isn't often one stumbles upon a female as lovely as yourself wandering out here." An honest compliment on his part.

He was polite... Too polite. With her ears staying flattened against her skull, tail flicking eve more so behind her, Aziza didn't like this situation at all. This male.. Was attractive. He was polite. He seemed generous and kind-hearted. Gah! She refused to fall for an outsider! She would not!

"Aziza'Binti..." Doh! Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid! Growling some more, Aziza stomped one of her paws, snarling at her stupidity. Now, this stranger of a male could very easily find her, just by the way she looked and her name. Why had she told him? Why?!

"Don't think anything of it though!", she added, just needing that final touch in there.

She seemed to be in a remarkably bad mood, he noticed, and so, instead of taking the hint, Ayo rather decided he'd hang about in case that he could do anything to make her feel better, and besides, a lioness like her was the reason that he'd left Chiamaka all alone, right? For some companionship?

"If you say so, Miss Aziza'Binti...your name sounds very nice on the ears, if I do say so myself. Oh, and you may call me Ayo, if you wish." His smile was bright, refusing to let her get him down. "And...is there anything I might do for you? A talk, a walk, directions...something else?" There was a pleasant lilt to his rumbling voice, and yet he left the decisions up to her, sensing that she was rather used to being in charge.

All right, he could concede a little dignity for her temporarily.

"No! I need nothing! Nothing from some... Some.. Male!",she snapped harshly at him, growling afterwards. If she could of put her ears back anymore, they would of torn right off. She was pissed. Why did this male just think he could talk to her like that? Like she needed directions or help... Ha! Not from such a pathetic being.

"And just Aziza is fine." What was she doing?! She just had him in her grip! She was mean, brutal, rude, the works! And now this?! No! Why was she trying to be nice to him while still throwing her cruel attitude at him?! He was trying to persuade her! She could hear it.. He was just like every other stinky male! She WOULD NOT fall victim to such a low trap!

Oh, so that was the problem. It was his gender. Almost instantaneously, he made the decision to downplay himself, mayhap that way she wouldn't be on the offensive. He cleared his throat, "Ah, I see. Pardon my rudeness then, Aziza." He bobbed his head respectfully.

It was just for a little while, he could afford to treat her like royalty. Her manner was slightly startling to him, but...then again, she was quite lovely indeed, and an attractive female was probably used to being pampered a bit. More than a bit. Perhaps she had several doting males at home. "Just let me know if there is anything at all I can do, I don't presume that you need the help...just...something you might like?" He offered, making sure to emphasize that he knew that she didn't need him.

But needing wasn't the factor here.

"Pardon your rudeness?! I should say so! Speaking to me like that! All you males are the same... Thinking you're all that and that us females are just here to play around with! Well, you've got another thing coming then, mister Ayo!" She roared a bit and quickly spun around, her tail now lashing behind her, her ears still completely flat to her skull.

"Thinking he can court me.. To win me over like that.. Hmph!" Taking to herself was not exactly good, but when she was upset, it was all she could do. It's not like anyone else would listen. Her sisters and brother hated her.. And no one in the pride liked her either. She was a loner.. Making her snappy towards every and anyone, especially males. "Ayo is nice though... At least I think so.. He seems that way anyhow. Still, I don't want to be taken advantage of. I'm not just a piece of meat, damnit!"

She looked over her shoulder at him, seeing his lush red fur stand out so well against everything else. He was so good looking, but would Aziza ever admit that? Hell, no.

His ears went back in much the same position, but for an entirely different reason, almost cowering in the face of her outburst. "I humbly apologize, Miss Aziza, I did not mean to come off as such...it has just been a long time since I have had anyone with whom to speak or consort with who was not far younger than myself." He explained quietly, treading very very carefully where this particular female was concerned.

'Taking advantage' was not even a term that entered into Ayo's vocabulary...in truth, he was against such...things...unless there was clearly mutual consent from both parties, and guiling someone into such a thing or such similar methods were looked upon with distaste.

He was simply an attractive male, and it made sense to him. Aziza rather confused Ayo, however...he'd never met anyone remotely like her before, and that incited a certain dangerous curiosity.

So he waited, actually lying down on his stomach so as to put him at a lower height than her...half-wondering if that would help any.

Turning her head back around, Aziza was surprised to find this red male on the ground, looking up at her. No male have EVER done that, not since she had been alive anyhow. It was a VERY nice sight to see, making her feel a lot more powerful than him. To Aziza, that meant total respect and domination on her part. Of course, Ayo probably didn't know it, but did she care? Hell, no.

"I see...", she simply said, turning her whole body back around to face the red lion. "Well.. Ayo, is it? I'll humor you, then. What are you wanting from me, other than to talk? I can't think of a male just wanting to... Talk." She slightly rolled her light pink eyes, shaking her head to get her darker purple hair out of her eyes, revealing a white diamond on her forehead. It was of no importance, but she felt like it made her more gorgeous that she would of been otherwise.

There was a huge inward sigh of relief on Ayo's part. He had been afraid that she would storm off in a huff, and there would go his chances for momentary friendship, companionship, or anything else. "Wanting? Simply company...this is a somewhat long, lonely journey I've been on...and though the constant chatter of a child is a nice enough thing, the young one cannot always be of the caliber that an adult needs. There are many things she doesn't understand, and for once, it would be nice not to be the teacher." He admitted.

He hardly knew the first thing about being a father, but somehow he'd been thrown headfirst into the role when he'd stumbled onto Chiamaka...and he hadn't been able to tell her no when she'd tagged along, as it had been obvious she couldn't hunt for herself.

"Company? What kind of male are you, anyway?" She looked at him in such an odd manner, trying to figure him out. He didn't make sense to her... He just didn't. She couldn't quite explain it, but just... He.. And it.. And yea... Didn't make sense.

"Child? You have a mate?", she suddenly questioned, a little bit of worry in her voice. It was very unlike her to even care about such a thing, but she did in this case. She wanted to claw at herself for worrying about it, as it confused her. She was acting like some hormone-raged teen or something like that. So, so weird.

Ayo winced at that slightly, "I don't know. I'm just myself. My mother raised me, you see...I hardly know my father...and I honestly would rather not offend you, Miss Aziza... if I can at all help it." That was the root of the thing.

"Oh no." He hastily assured. "No mate...I took Chiamaka under my wing because she was unable to hunt for herself...so I'm teaching her that, and she's good company, albeit very very young." Mate? Him? He wasn't really sure he was ready for that sort of commitment just yet. Even though Ayo was polite to a fault, there was still some part of him that was young, and simply desired to have a little fun before settling down.
