The Lunapads.com Collection

Since 1993, Lunapads International has been dedicated to creating comfortable, effective, and earth-friendly menstrual products, helping women and girls to have healthier and more positive experiences of their menstrual cycle.

The lunapads.com collection includes our signature products: Lunapads washable cloth pantyliners, menstrual pads with removable liners, and Lunapads padded underwear, as well as the DivaCup menstrual cup and Sea Pears sea sponge tampons.

All of these products can be used in various combinations - for example, Lunapads and Lunapanties can be worn on their own, or as additional protection when using the DivaCup or Sea Pearls. Whether you now use pantyliners, tampons or a combination, we offer a natural solution to meet your needs.

This catalogue reflects our essential collection - be sure to visit us at www.lunapads.com for the up-to-the-minute new products and specials, as well as more in-depth information and customer testimonials.

Why Go Natural?
Natural menstrual products are comfortable and effective, healthier for you and the planet, and far less expensive than disposable products.

Quote:
"Using Lunapads and sponges instead of disposables helps me to feel better about myself as a woman, and as a consumer."
- Jil C., Netherlands

Making the Switch
Using natural products is a very different experience from using disposables in many wonderful ways. Like recycling bottles and newspapers, washing and transporting your Lunapads or DivaCup requires more effort than simply throwing away used pads or tampons, but our customers agree that the superior comfort and peace of mind far outweigh a little extra work.

To wash Lunapads, liners and Lunapanties, soak or rinse them in cold water prior to hand or machine washing them - it's that simple! You can wash them in a seperate load with your sheets and towels using your regular detergent. You can put them in the dryer too.

Your Lifestyle
It's far easier than you think to take your supplies with you. Lunapads fold neatly into themselves and can be stashed practically anywhere - a small cosmetic bag or pocket is fine. Used pads and liners can be stored in reusable nylon pouches (available at www.lunapads.com) or a plastic bag. DivaCups and Sea Pearls come with their own storage bags.

Lunapads

Quote:
"I never thought that I'd ever be comfortable using pads, but Lunapads have changed all that - they're so soft and pretty, and easy to use.

- Jacqueline R., Belgium

Lunapads are the most innovative and versatile washable pads available today. With their unique design and complete size selection -from barely-there pantyliners to post-partum pads- thousands of women worldwide choose Lunapads.

Lunapads fasten around your own underwear with small plastic snaps, and are made using a combination of 100% cotton flannel and highly absorbent fleece, available in either attractive cotton prints or cream coloured certified organic cotton. They are completely washine wash and dry safe, and will last approximately 3 - 5 years.

Choose either pads or pantyliners depending on your needs. Pads have a thin, breathable nylon lining sewn under the center panel to prevent leaks, as well as thin bands that hold removable liners, making them adjustable for light, average, and heavy flow. Pantyliners do not have these features and are instead designed for everyday use, very light flow, or as backup protection for the DivaCup or Sea Sponges.

Pads + liners
- Nylon lining.
- For light, average and heavy flow.
- Use with liners to adjust absorbancy.

Pantyliners
- No nylon lining.
- For everyday use or very light flow.
- Use on their own, without liners.

Liners
Super-soft, highly absorbent cotton fleece liners can be used with pad-style Lunapads as well as Deluxe Lunapanties. They have two functions:

1) Easily freshen your pad or Lunapanty.
2) Increase absorbancy by layering multiple liners to handle heavier flow.

Unlike most cloth pads, Lunapads unique design allows you to change liners quickly and easily without having to change the whole pad or panty. Liners are held in place on top of the pad, closest to you, with thin bands. To keep your pad or panty fresh and dry, just change liners - it's that simple! Liners are available in a variety of styles and sizes, allowing you to adjust your protection according to your needs. Also unique to Lunapads are wing liners, which add lateral protection to the center of the pad.

Liners are available in a variety of sizes and style, from US $9.99/CDN $10.99 per 4-pack.

Instead of Tampons
The DivaCup and Sea Pearls are safe and practical forms of internal menstrual protection. Using them also means less wory about irritations and infections caused by plastics and chemical residues found in most disposable products. Best of all, they're reusable, so you also get to save money and reduce waste at the same time.

I have used a MoonCup, which is similar to the Diva Cup, and cloth pads for years. There are many brands of both cups and pads.

One of the main differences between the different cups are size. Almost all the cups available are made of silicone, except for the Keeper, which is made of rubber.

In terms of cloth pads, there are many different kinds. Some have wings, and some don't; some are all-in-one designs, and some have inserts, to make them thicker for heavier flow. They come in many shapes and many different fabrics, as well.

Benefits of Cups:

* You only have to empty them once every 12 hours, unlike pads or tampons.
* No risk of toxic shock syndrome.
* No risk of exposing your body to the chemicals used to process and bleach the materials in disposable tampons and pads.
* Better for the environment -- no disposable products cluttering up the landfill every month.
* Cheaper in the long run. No buying disposable products every month.

Benefits of Cloth Pads:

* Cheaper in the long run.
* More natural and safer for your body, especially when made of organic fabrics.
* Waaaaay more comfortable than disposable pads. Soft! No crinkly, sticky plastic.
* Better for the environment.
* They come in super cute designs and colors. Hehe. I have pads with skulls and crossbones, kittens, moons and stars, dragons, ducks, and many other patterns.

I think both of these products are a wonderful way to get to know your body and respecting it and the environment.

I'd love to answer any questions people have about them and their use. smile

I've been interested in trying the Divacup for a while now. I was wondering peoples thoughts about them.

I am not a fan of tampons, so I never tried the cup. I have read a lot of reviews of it, and most people seem to love it! So if you're interested in it, I would say it is worth trying.

Here are some customer reviews from drugstore.com:

"The explicit directions were so easy to follow after studying the cup, and I had it in correctly in less than 5 seconds on the first try! No leaks, no nothing! It is really comfortable and easy to use. As stated by many, it just may not be convenient on vacation or traveling or if you only have access to public bathrooms. The good thing is that it holds an ounce and it most likely takes 24 hours to bleed that much! So, you can leave it in for a long time without having to change it."

"it doesn't leak at all if it's in right, you can go all day to work or school without having to empty and clean it because it holds more than enough (which is a good thing when you can't reach a sink from a stall)..."

"Once it is in you can't feel it at all and there is no leaking. The reason I gave it four stars is it is messy to remove. I would not try to do it if I was in a public restroom stall. I do, however, think for most uses during your period it's a great way to help the environment and save money. It is WAY more comfortable than a tampon or a pad."

(click to read lots more reviews, for more information about the cup, or to order one)

I use Lunapads and have no complaints with them so far! Many people who use Divacups also use Lunapads for their light days or for backup protection when they wear their cup.

I also use the Mooncup, and I really like it. Sometimes it's a little awkward to get in, but usually it's okay. I know when I'm going to get my period, so I can just pop it in and don't have to worry about the bleeding on the pants moments like I did with tampons. Overall, I really like it, although it does smell when you remove it. >.<
