Akin to a shadow and silent as a ghost the dark male moved in to the the jungle silently his dark coat almost instantly vanishing in the shade. Tiyatahmey had a way of vanishing that he felt few knew or understood. he had been raised by a pride long dead and gone through the art that they mastered.

His eyes looked over this new world he stepped in to though, a white eye, the tiny pupil curious roving and taking in every inch, while the black watched where he was treading.

Always ghost like, always the shadow, invisable unless he wished to be seen.

Shaitani was anything but stealthy as she slogged through the underbrush of her home, uncaring and unaware of how much noise she made or who might notice that she passed.

The skulls around her neck clacked as she padded along an old game trail, trotting as though she had some place to be. Bright red eyes stared almost sightlessly ahead, more focused on what was going on in that pretty, crazy little head than what might be in her path. She was invisible, invincible, untouchable... there was nothing out there to stop her, nothing that would want to impede her... or so she naively thought.

Something had called Shai from her deep jungle roaming, and it was towards that thing that she moved now. What was it she was searching for? She didn't even really know.

The noise of another made Tiyatahmey tilt his head. Someone was coming. He waited quietly and the deep, blood red female passed right under his nose without seeing him. He laughed quietly and slipped up beside her. he never touched her his shadowey form padding along in pure silence beside her. It may have been that he was her shadow but he spoke in quiet, almost femenine tones.

"Good day to you." he smiled his sharp white fangs flashing beneath those jet black lips as he fixed this new figure with his strange white eye the tiny pupil set upon her. "And where are you going in such a hurry, Hm?" He questioned his strange, eerie smile never fadeing.

Shaitani never even noticed the dark male join her, padding along with a single mided purpose. Perhaps she really did disregard him as just another shadow, because when he finally spoke out, she reacted rather violently.

The sound of his voice startled the white and red lioness to the point that she sprang straight up in the air with a yowl, spinning around when she landed to stare wide-eyed at the source of the voice. "Oh, you surprised me!" She laughed, her smile just a tad strange. "You should know where I am going, shadow mine... after all, you are going with me, are you not? Silly shadow... you shouldn't sneak up on me when I'm stalking. I might step on you... silly thing." She snorted as she turned, shaking her head as she set off down the path again. Now though, she didn't seem as purposeful, her steps meandering more than they had before. What was it she'd been looking for again...?

Tiyatahmey did not move as she did, he simply waited for her to calm down again before continuing on with her his shadowey body melding with the shade."You seem lost my friend." he whispered his strange odd eyes looking her over a she called him shadow. "You should call me by my name, I am no shadow." he smiled a little maddly his odd eyes capturing what little light dappled through from above.

"my name is Tiyatahmey, you should pronounce it right though and I will be your friendly shadow, okay?" He beamed his white eye goggling over her.

Shaitani laughed brightly as she flicked her tail in dismissal.

"How silly you are... more silly than normal, Shadow. You know I'm not lost, I'm never lost. The jungle is my home and my womb and my life's blood... who can I be lost?" She turned her head to look at him as she grinned, the expression touched with tension and something altogether off. "All this time you've walked in step with me and never told me your name... how rude! Tiya-tah-mehy.... that's a long name, Shadow dear. You should shorten it, or I won't ever use it. Who can remember a name like that, hmm?" The pale lioness giggled as she swayed gently, almost drunkenly, down the path she had chosen to walk.

It had not dawned on her that her talking shadow was actually another lion, and it probably wouldn't, considering her mental state. She had many imaginary friends and often mistook real creatures for them, which could be confusing and embarrassing to those creatures. But what did she care? She'd forget them shortly after they left her prescence, and never miss them.

The jet-black lion looked her over quietly, he was okay with being called a shadow really but being told to shorten his name? No that wasn't anything he would ever allow. "Oh no my friend, my name has to be left the way it is. Kay?" He smiled maddly, his grin wide as a cheshire cats. "I suppose I have walked beside you for a long time though." he looked behind himself to view the path they had padded along together in this strange new friendship. "Yes, a very long way, hee."

He turns his gaze back opn the path they were walking clearly he was thinking whough who knew what it was about. "I'm starting to get hungry. Pehraps it is time to hunt my little friend? then I will go and you can have a silent shadow once again kay?" His dtrange eyes roved over her quietly, perhaps he felt linked to this other lion, or perhaps he just felt like he was int he presence of a kindred spirit, either way he felt almost, at home with the pale bloody coloured lioness. A strange feeling considering his home was a long gone memory.

Shai turned to stare wide-eyed at her 'shadow', blinking slowly even as she kept up a steady pace forward.

"I didn't know you liked your name so much! Why did you never tell me this before? You've been with me for so long, and never a word!" She let out a slightly unstable giggle, her tail giving a nervous flick. The idea of food brought her up short and she actually came to a stop, plopping her back end down on the ground as she stared again.

"Food... Shaitani hasn't eaten in days, Shadow-friend... No food for the lowly worm, the white leech... They run from her and she stumbles and they escape, leaving her poor belly empty..." Her eyes widened till the whites could be seen all around the red, and she no longer seemed to be seeing anything, but rather staring into the abyss.

"Do shadows get hungry? You were never hungry before... what do shadows eat? Do you eat rabbits like living creatures?" Her voice took on a sing-son quality, rolling out smoothly as it rose and fell in pitch.

Tiyatahmey laughed in a quiet short manner his crazy odd eyes looking the female over asd he mimiced her movements indeed taking on the qualities of a shadow, he even moved when she did. He sat silently as he walked his smile never fadeing "Well, it takes time to let others know ones name. Unfortunately I can only speak as fast as my mouth lets me. Hee" He fixses his stare upon the bloodied female and his tail flickers.

"You're hungry? Well then my little friend we must go and hunt." He waited for her to stand, he wouldn't move until she did, he would remain ehr shadow untilt his meeting was over, almost hiding in the darkness of her silouette.

"I get very hungry, so eat." He said simply his head turning slightly to find the best direction to go a hunting in. "Little bunnies? Oh yeas I like the way they splatter, they don't take up much of a space though. I much prefare nice antilope or zebra they fill the emptyness for a little while and my little Jakaly friends come to clean up the mess." He laughed again then clearly shetani had found a kindred spirit in this one. He was happy to be her shadow, for the moment.

This meeting was truly outside of time and place. What would it really matter, in the long run, if they had or hadn't met? It's hard to say if either would even remember this meeting once they parted ways... but fate works in odd ways sometimes.

Shaitani turned to stare at him for a few long moments before she spoke, finally breaking out in a smile. "Come then and we'll find food." She said as she rose and broke into a lope, letting her paws fall where they may and carry her away from here. If there was prey at the end of her path, no one could say, but she seemed eager to travel it.

"A hunting we will go! A hunting we will go! Children of the Night, Unite! A hunting we will go!" She sang, sounding more like a child than a fully grown lioness. She sang the whole time, though the words slipped in and out of any kind of understanding. Sometimes they made sense and sometimes they didn't, but she sang them anyway for the joy of it.

Her wild dash through the jungle only came to a stop when she stumbled upon a well used and recent game trail, poised with one paw lifted as she scented the air and the brush around them. Gazelle, come for the little spring of water nearby. And with them, otters in a den beside the water and a multitude of birds. A perfect feast for the pair and as Shaitani sensed food, her darker, more serious self came out as she fell into a stalking position, creeping down the trail. She seemed to have forgotten her shadow for the moment, if she hadn't lost him in her zig zagging dash.

No, shaitani hadn't lost the crazy red lioness, he had infact stuck to her like glue through out her mad rush through the undergrowth, however at the sight of game he vanished in to the shadows, a shadow amongst the darkness.

The shadey lion reappeared a good distance away, right infront of a gazelle, his mad eyes looked at the beast,a nd the beast stared back. "I'm sorry little friend I'm afraid I'll have to Kill you now." He beast didn't even have time to panic as a claw lifted and slit the beasts throat, a deadly precice kill, it's blood never touching his fur.

The beast fell in a heap though and the rest of the herd scattered as he watched uncareingly as the blood fromt he beasts throat melted away in to the ground. "Lunch time my friend!" he called, grinning in to the bushes in a manic, cheshire cat like manner.

The call from Shai's new 'friend' was greeted by the lioness herself melting out of the undergrowth, a gazelle foal hanging from her bloody jaws. Unlike her shadow, she was not clean or neat. If anything, she seemed to enjoy the warmth and taste of the blood, coming close to rolling in it before Tiya had called her. It dripped in red streaks from her jaw to splatter on her pale chest and down her forelegs, adding to the old, faded stains that were already there.

Red eyes widened and blinked at him in confusion, having a hard time remembering who he was and why she'd come when he called. As she studied him, she thought he looked much like a shadow, like her shadow... and just like that, she was back into her fantasy. Smiling around her dainty mouthful, she bounced up to him and let her meal fall to land on top of his, laughing brightly.

"My shadow is a mighty hunter! I have never seen you act like this before, but I must admit that I like it." She laughed as she flicked her tail, putting on her flirty personality. "We shall eat well, Shadow mine. Yes indeed!" With a snarl curling over her bloody fangs, she bent to rip into the foal, shredding it before she began to gobble down the sweet, tender meat.

Tiyatahmey looked at the proken little body and a laugh echoed over his lips. "Yes indeed my little friend, eating very well!" He settled himself down and ate fromt he antilope he had killed, strangely he was a picky, clean eater, the blood seeming to vanish from his lips as soon as it touched them. It didn't take long infact for him to finish his meal and simply sit in silence watching as Sheitani spattered the world around them in deep red blood. He was careful to even stay away fromt he mess she was creating as if the blood were dirty and it must not touch his dark coat even if it would not leave a mark on his shadowy form.

Sitting back he looked at Sheitani with those odd, manic eyes and smiled. "I'm afraid I have to leave you now, okay?" He grinned in an all to insane manner his mouth turned in to the widest, craziest grin yet. "Have fun my little friend, kay? and don't make too much of a mess." he giggled girlishly and vanished off in to the darkness, dissapearing as swiftly as he had appeared.

Shaitani's head jerked up at the words, her eyes darting around almost in panic.

"Leave, what? Leave me? No!" She rose as she watched him blend into the shadows, his dark form confusing her mind to the point that she couldn't distinguish him from the darkness he stood in. "Don't go! Don't... don't leave alone!" She called out, a hint of the extreme, mind-breaking loneliness she felt coming out in her voice. It might be a clue as to why Shai was the way she was... but it vanished quickly as she turned her head to look down, searching.

Her eyes caught the shadow under her paws and she danced lightly back, noting the way it moved with her. Her face cleared as she smiled and sighed, turning to go back to the meal. "I'm glad you decided to stay." She said to her real shadow, still believing that the lion and the shadow were one in the same. "I don't know what I'd do without you to keep my company... I think I might go insane." She giggled as she went back to her meal, gently flicking her tail.
