Im just wondering where you guys travel to do competitions(out of state only!) and what did you do there? Last year my band went to Orlando, FL for compatition we won second place. We got to go to Universal Studio Resort, to an Arabian Dinner Theatre, and to CoCo Beach. tell me about your trip and if you won.....

Well, living in the middle of California, going up to the bay area or to the LA or San Diego areas is nearly the equivilant of going out of state in smaller states. Haha. The only time we ever won was when we went about fourty minutes away.
But, the Jazz band goes to Reno every year at the end of April. They always do well, and I've heard the trips are insane. I've yet to go...

well my band is suppose to be going to london for the new years day parade at the end of this year but something tells me that its a very slim chance since we havent really done any fundraisers for it so i guess its just a dream that we will not ever see crying not much else we can do in texas tho but this year we are just going to six flags in dallas not too exciting since i have been there many times

we went to japan for wgi competitions and it was boring cause we took a plane and we didnt do sight seeing or anything cause we had to go to school after three days so....yeah thats it......... emo

The only out of state competition that we do is the Music in the Parks Festival. We always go to Hershey Park.
My school's marching band doesn't do competitions.

Our last band trip we got to go all the way to Disney World(7hours). We went for five days and only played (music) for one hour. The rest of the time I spent at the parks. blaugh

We go to Victoria every year, and we're going to Ireland next month. We usually do the ireland trip every 3 years or so.
We've won Best Overall Marching Band in Victoria 9 years in a row, and we've won Ireland 2/3 times we've gone.

We're going to Europe (don't know where) next year during christmas break! It's a trip we take every 3 years heart

I'm in Aus, so my travels to contest were never with my school band, but travelling with the brass badn is fantastic. I've been to Adelaide and South Aus twice, been within the state plenty (but it's a big state so eh) and I'm going to NZ nationals later this year. The trips are always fun

I live in Florida and we had a competition at Universal and then we got to see the Blue Man Group!!!!!!!!!! and then we went someplace else........i 4get wher.........but thery'r fun! specially with my freind!

We're going to DISNEY WORLD!!
We get to ride on a charter bus for 21 hours!!! <3333
But we've also been to New York. :3
That was fun.
Both are quite far from Texas...

we went to nyc my freshman year and got to play in riverside chapel. last year the band went to disney world, which we do every 4 years, but i wasn't able to go. cry this spring we're going to chicago and even though our trip is 5 days, we're only staying in a hotel for two nights because the other two nights we'll be DRIVING!!! ugh. i'm really looking forward to it though, we get to see blue man group and sonny rollins.

Well, our marching band has been to many places. My freshmen year we went to Hawaii for the pearl harbor parade in Waikiki. lots of fun. biggrin
My sophmore year we stayed in the area, but we did go about 5 hours north of ohio (Cleveland) for our state finals and got to march in the cedar point parade just for fun.
my junior year our band got to march and perform in the annual Rose Parade '08. biggrin D we spent one full week in Pasadena, L.A. and San Diego. ^-^ I had tons of fun, and we had our last night Formal Attire Event at the Queen Mary ship. :p (ps, we also got to see adam sandler and his dog one day, he was heading to his office. xD )
and my senior year, our band got to march in the "Horse Shoe" Buckeye stadium. Our band in general did good, and our guard won first place there. biggrin I miss guard sooo much. xD heart heart heart

We went to the world music contest this year
it was my first time there
we participated in mars parade for the first time we became 8th
we were so happy because we had like a complete new group this year with a lot of people who weren't very skilled
ou division was the highest i think that is championship divison but i'm not sure
well that was it

The only out of state competition my band goes to id in Dayton, Ohio...and actually its only the winter percussionand only when we get the money....it's 1,900 per person....
