A bit like the MBTI system, but with only nine personality types, categorised by number. (However, there's three variants within each type, so that expands it out to twenty-seven in all.) It's a bit less scientific than the MBTI, but an interesting alternative.

So, what do you reckon about this one? And what type are you?

I'm a 5. Which I probably could have predicted before I even took the test, as it's the 'introverted thinker' personality type. My main subtype is the self-preservation instinct. So, yeah, yet another test that tells me that I'm a reclusive geek. They got that right.

Enneagram has a very strong correlation to type. INTx are usually 5, but any type can be 6. I'm pretty sure that NF, or maybe F in general has a correlation with 4. I don't know all that much about enneagram compared to MBTI, so I don't know all of the correlations that well. I think that 8 has a correlation with E, and 2 perhaps with xSFP? Although 2 seems like it also F in general.

What I find interesting about enneagram is that it has different health levels.

A few websites:
-a bit of everything. classifies based on body/heart/mind, which is rather interesting. Very useful, with a bunch of stuff on it.

-MBTI/Enneagram correlation fancy website, but a bit confusing

EDIT: I too am enneagram 5, INTP. I don't know my wing or variants.

I'm 5w4 sp/sx
The tests always give me 5w4, or just 5.
And, 5 is what I'd have picked for myself anyhow.

I've never actually tested as 4, I only ever get 4 as a wing.

well i just took the test you linked to, and it told me i was a 4 with sp/sx/so variant

apparently i scored the exact same for types 4 and 7 though? i'm not really sure i understand this one... ><

5 - 22 - I must be knowledgable and independent to be happy.

4 - 21 - I must avoid painful feelings to be happy.

6 - 15 - I must be secure and safe to be happy.

3 - 11 - I must be impressive and attractive to be happy.

7 - 11 - I must be high and entertained to be happy.

8 - 10 - I must be strong and in control to be happy.

1 - 8 - I must be perfect and good to be happy.

9 - 8 - I must be peaceful and easy to get along with to be happy.

2 - 4 - I must be helpful and caring to be happy.

D= Apparently I'm not a very nice person....

I took that test a while ago and it typed me as a six with an sp/so/sx variant, but more recently I took one from a specific enneagram site, and it typed me as a four. @.@;
