So. . .we're trying to get pregnant. I've mentioned this a few times around the guild. And we've only been married for eight months so we haven't been trying for that horribly long and a lot of that has just been relying on chance; however, it's hard to stay positive when it's just not happening like I want it to. Also, when I attempt to look up signs of fertility and whatnot on the Internet, all of the information seems to be geared towards women who have regular 28-day cycles. This doesn't do much good for me because my cycles are definitely not 28 days and definitely not that regular. I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for here. . .just a way to relieve my frustrations I guess. Does anyone have any success stories from similiar situations? Tips and tricks? Similiar circumstances?

I think there are thermomneters that check your basal temperature. You could try those. I think your body temp is supposed to go up when your feritle. Also how 'off schedule' is your cycle?

My mom was super irregular with her cycle and didn't know she was pregnant with me for around 3 or 4 months... it also took her awhile to get pregnant with me. Don't sweat it... You will get pregnant eventually even if it takes awhile

There is a section on the pregnancy forum I go to for women who are trying to conceive. They might be able to help field questions you have. I know a lot of them chart and do the temperature stuff (personally, I don't know how that works, but they are all pretty awesome with things like that). I hope they're able to help you out. The Nest - Trying to Conceive BoardAlso, have you talked to your gyno about this? I know when I had my regular pap before I was pregnant, she told me to tell them when we were going to start trying because they have tips to help you not only conceive, but also make sure you are in good shape and eating healthy and what not, so you have a really healthy baby. There are vitamins and things you can take to help. Might not hurt to give your doc a call. Good luck! Hope there's a bun in your oven soon smile

I stopped taking bc June 2007. Wow. I've been going to fertliltyfriend.com and mymonthlycylces.com. While those both are good for tracking your cycles and ovulation and such the one you posted is way more informative with what you need to do to get pregnant.

We learned the "natural family planning" from our church and you chart your temp and your discharge signs. We're not trying to get pregnant, but this shows us days that I'm most fertile and we avoid doing anything at that time.
But I think the temp would work just as well. You just gotta be diligent with yourself. I set my alarm everyday at 6am and take my temp, even on weekends and vacations.
Good luck!

Ame no Tenshi I think there are thermomneters that check your basal temperature. You could try those. I think your body temp is supposed to go up when your feritle. Also how 'off schedule' is your cycle? I quite taking bc in May and my system still hasn't returned to normal yet. The first month was fine. . .I went 33 days before I had my period and my period was normal; however, after that, I didn't have my period for four months and my period was like a week and half long. I then went another two months w/o my period and then, when I finally got it, I bled for a month. It was the most frustrating month of my life and it actually just ended. o.O I heard about checking your basal temperature. Is there a special kind of thermometer for that?

Near the end of the month, my hubby changed his mind (he decided he in fact wasn't ready for a baby), so I went back on the pills. The first week of november, (right after my birthday cry ) I miscarried. Some women don't even realize, and some never even know, that this happens, but it is fairly common in first pregnancies. Also, I don't know how common my situation is.. I knew, fairly early, that I was pregnant because one night I was in such terrible pain that I couldn't move. My hubby took me to the ER, where we found out. They put me on bed rest, fearing that it was an ectopic pregnancy.. The next night, I began bleeding, which lasted over a month.

We've been trying for half a year. My periods have been very irregular for over six months. I went six months without having one, then had a very heavy period in December, missed January's and looks like I'm missing February's too. It's weird because I have been regular since the age of eleven and this past year it's all gone kaput. I'm trying to keep positive because stress may prolong me not having a period.
All I can suggest is keep trying. If something doesn't happen after a year or so, see your doctor to ensure there's no problems.

It took us 3-4 months to get pregnant with our first, and I'm pretty sure it had a lot to do with intercourse positions. Our second took just one try. >.> My cycle isn't regular either, but I've never been on birth control before save for condoms, so my only guess is that it might stem with the bc possibly still in your system.
I'm sorry I can't really help in this area. sweatdrop
