Mr Darcy as INTJ?

Oh, and we're going by the book, seeing as I'd presume more have read the book than watched the film.
But if you want to comment on the types of the characters from the film too, you can. Because characters in books and film often differ slightly.

redface Oooh, my. That's embarrassing. I'm much more comfortable with Clarice Starling and Dan Aykroyd having the same type as me. xd (also INTJs)

He's aloof, prideful, and love stricken. Often portrayed as very arrogant, the man is actually compassionate and loving... He is of a rather reserved nature, which leads many to think he feels so highly of himself. I think like many INTJs, he's protecting himself. I think we INTJs like to feel secure. We are strategists, after all. I think our type tends to look out for the best solution to everything. That could be a character benefit but also a character flaw...

Heyyy. The new film had Keira Knightley in it. That's pretty cool. xd

Anyway, I think Mr. Darcy is a big goober. But he has a lot of good qualities, too... Must be the hair that bugs me. xd No, no... it's definitely that collar.

I'm not sure about Elizabeth. I always thought of her as a IxTx type...
Maybe ISTJ?
You might find it funny that I suggest she's an SJ...=/
When I first read it though, I never actually liked her character much. Mind you I was quite little when I first read it, maybe I was more used to "The Girl" from Rebecca type female characters.
But I'm not saying SJs are bad or anything exclaim mrgreen

On that point - what are the types of the characters from Rebecca?
I think maybe The Girl is ISFP.
And I think Daphne Du Maurier, the writer, is INFP

But it's ages since I read Rebecca so.. I know not.

Elizabeth's dad is, at least in the film (I read the book a rather long time ago) probably an INxP. I'm guessing more T than F, but pretty balanced either way.

Elizabeth's mom is certainly a rather immature ESFJ in either film or book. Her amusingly annoying personality seems to stem from the faults of an ESFJ without any of the good traits...

In the book, from what little I remember, Elizabeth actually does seem like an ISTJ, now that you mention it. She reminds me of my dad, in a way. I'd say that she is somewhat balanced though, I don't think that she is an extreme S, only a moderate one. She is also not an extreme I. In the movie she seems almost like an NF. fO.o That's probably why the book is funnier... Both INTJ and ISTJ are quite stubborn. An ISTJ/INTJ couple can, of course, work, but neither type compromises without a lot of arguing.

Yeah that's one of the things that makes Pride and Prejudice so good.
It's not really the traditional pairing, and they're both very stubborn and they both know their own mind.

Films often make female characters NFs.
It looks better on the screen

Elisabeth Bennet reminds me of my sister's personality. Strange how we relate fictional characters with people we know, and fictional places with places we've been to. At least I do.. I don't know about anyone else..
