Desideria moved quickly through the evergreen trees, heading for the edge of the deep forest. She moved silently, pawed feet making no sound on the leafy layer below her. Finally she spied the bright glow of sunlight ahead, constrasting sharply with the warm darkness under the canopy. Sunlight did filter down through the leaves, casting an odd greenish tinge to everything. The looming forest's edge before her made Desideria quicken her pace exponentially.
Within a few moments, she burst forth from the trees. The sun's rays caught her scepter and crown, sending rainbows of fractured light spinning in an arc about her. The young ucolian stretched her golden wings, basking in the openness of the open plain upon which she had emerged. It stretched before her, covered in golden and green tones. Hues of pinks, blues, and purples grew in bunches and pops of color. The sky above was the purest light blue Desideria had ever seen, only emphasized by the fluffy cream clouds above. As a breeze kicked up she closed her eyes, practically purring in contentment.

All these spectacles went unnoticed by one Ulaya. From the colorful and contrasting colors, to the sound and scents of the open plains surrounding him. The turkey Ulaya was happily oblivious to all these things, content in the depths of sleep. The warm weather and sun comforted his dreams, making his nap deep and much enjoyable.
Feathers of a tail lay splayed flat on the ground. Fur the color of deep chocolate pressed against the ground as the male snoozed on his back. Chest lifted and fell in smooth and even beats, indicating the others sleep. Would even the dreamer of power disturb such a calm and peaceful scene?

Desideria finally opened her eyes, stilling breathing deeply as she surveyed her new "domain." Taking a few steps forward in the deep, lush foliage, her practiced eye noticed something amiss with the field's pattern in an area slightly south of her current position. Slightly miffed that the beauty of the setting was being marred, Desideria set off to correct the clearly grevious mistake. Leaping gracefully through the waves of tall grass, she reached the darker spot only to discover that the problem did not lie in the ground or shadows nearby. Rather, a sleeping ulaya was the one trespassing on the serenity of her land. Annoyance quickly spread across her usually regal features. How dare he? Fighting back the impulse to kick the male awake, she took deep, calming breathes and swallowed her anger. Nudging the other gently, she awaited the lesser one's response to her presence.

"Unghh." What was that? Nose wiggled and ears flitted, but otherwise Tatenda was still cozy. The male merely rolled away from the nudging, curling in on his side and resting a paw over his eyes. It really was an adorable sight...for anyone not grumpy about their territory. But the Ulaya was unaware of any trespassing, having not seen or smelt any indicators of such.

Desideria's eye twitched; the ulaya lying on the ground seemed content to ignore her completely. This was simply unacceptable. He was obviously beneath her in status and therefore had no right to dismiss her appearance. Nuding him again, she finally spoke: "I suggest that you cease ignoring me, fool. I am not one to be trifled with." Her voice was icy, clearly displaying her displeasure. Although her words were spoken quietly, the quiet of the plain made it seem as though they had been shouted to the world.

One ear puff shook as his hearing was bothered. Well, half of it anyways...the other ears smooshed between his scalp and the grassy ground. Was that someone's voice? A ruby eye blinked open tiredly, taking some time to focus on his surroundings. Then there was a shine of light to the side of his vision, and the male rolled hesitantly on his back to get a better glance.
Blink. Who was this? "I...ignoring you?" Tatenda immediately jumped to his paws, tail wiggling nervously. "I wasn't ignoring you, I'm so sorry!" D; The male blushed lightly to the other, showing his apology.

Desideria watched as the other immediately jumped up and began apologizing fervently. Her annoyance died down at the sincerity of the male ulaya. At the sight of his blush, Desideria grinned, pleased that her superiority was having some effect on the other. "Very well then," she stated simply. "I only hope you shall be more attentive to your surroundings in the future. It would be a shame if you came to some untimely end due to lack of attention." Her words, though foreboding, had lost their malicious tone. "I suppose I should properly introduce myself. My name is Desideria."

o.o?
Tatenda canted his head to the side at the other, just now taking in her details. Where did she get that crown? And that...staff? It seemed heavy if it really was gold. Sure did shine as bright as gold. The male shook his head, so not to be accused of staring. He was merely curious.
"Oh, I will be!" He felt bad for bothering the other in such a way, even if he was just napping. Ears fell to the idea of an untimely end, hesitantly wondering if it was a threat. "Sorry..." He blinked, trying to not look too submissive, but not be a pushover at the same moment. "Desideria? Nice to meet you. I'm Tatenda." He gave a polite bow to the femme, if just to make up for his past error.

Desideria politely attempted to hide her triumphant grin as she viewed the other studying her. His eyes lingered on her staff and crown: the purest signs of her royal lineage and power. She held her head a little higher at that thought; pride swelling at the knowledge of her beauty and regal nature. As the male finally surrendered his name, she mulled it over in her mind. Tatenda. It had a pleasant ring to it. However, his next action was what truly gained her attention and pleasure. He bowed. Desideria stared at him in suprise, then found her face lighting up in an inviting smile. "It is truly a pleasure to meet you, Tatenda." she stated, inclining her head slighting in return to his bow. The sincerity of her words was clear, as was the approving look in her golden and rosy toned eyes.

Royal lineage? Then Tatenda must look of the poorest with his earthy and dull hues. As Desideria's head lifted, his own bent down in slight embarrassment. He was used to running from other Ulaya, not chatting with them and realizing his own...meager appearance. The male looked back up to the female, managing a friendly smile. "A pleasure for me as well." It was now that he took the time to glance at his surroundings, seeing that no one else was about. Well, that made it a little less embarrassing, not being caught asleep by a crowd. But now what?

Desideria continued to watch Tatenda carefully, trying to understand his motives. In her experience, everyone had some kind of ulterior motive behind their actions. This one had caught her off guard. He seemed sincere in his awe and admiration; so far he had been nothing if not polite. Rather than completely relaxing her, this aroused the royal one's suspicion. What was he thinking? Thoughtful eyes trailed after him as the male glanced about. Was he searching for a way out or merely searching for a safe topic for conversation? Struggling with herself, Desideria mentally shrugged. His opinions would eventually become clear. Until then... "Do you come to this area often?" Perhaps a bit of light chatter would comfort both of them.
