The goddess of minerals waddled heavy with child, a very large single birth it would seem, happily humming the melody of the earth to her unborn child. She headed to the swamps, an area she was unfamiliar with but was told there was a great pride seeking members. Her wings were dull because she had little time for grooming, her fur was matted and grime clung to her on different places, and despite all of that she had never been happier, she loved being pregnant the feel of another heart beat.

The mid day sun caked the grime deeper into her fur and beat down upon her. She walked with a smile unable to hold back her happiness. The only downfall to pregnancy was the results, a child she knew she would never care for the way she was supposed to.

Dinah was out for a walk, adventuring to areas she'd not seen before- just for the excitement of getting a look around. She wasn't so sure how she felt about the damp air and the way the ground was getting softer and softer.. but so far it was not the worst of places she'd ever been. As she stepped along, the bracelets upon her leg struck each other in a regular beat. If she was hunting, she would have hidden away her jewelry but for now she was happy to wear it. She was completely oblivious to the wandering goddess nearby, and instead set about her own business cheerfully.

Boma paused hearing a sound that did not flow with the earth's tone, it was more abrasive than the melody, but it did not all together sound horrible. It had a rhythm to it, like marching or the moving of feet. The Siamese-faced goddess scanned the surrounding area wondering where that sound was coming from. The invisible sound seemed to be moving to her left and away from her.

Picking up her pace she walked in a diagonal line towards the source and soon came face to well..butt with the lioness. "Ahem?" She murmured holding back a laugh at coming up on a lioness in such a way.

Suddenly there was someone behind Dinah, which brought her to an immediate halt. She did not expect to sneaked up on, and had not been paying enough attention to notice she was being approached. When she glanced over her shoulder and saw a very strange lion right behind her, she jumped- turning around very quickly. With a smile and slight tinge of red in her face, she greeted the stranger before looking her over.

"Hello there!"

The goddess before her was very dull and dirty seeming at the moment, but the way she smiled and the general look to her face.. she was very pretty indeed. There was something else about her, Dinah noticed.. except she did not yet notice that Boma was pregnant.

Boma let out an earthy chuckle at he female's enthusiasm and straightened up, her large belly exposed more fully.

"Hello, not so little lioness!" She exclaimed," Nice to see you face to face," she joked. She examined the turquoise beads that the lioness wore and decided they were the cause of the clicking that created the interesting rhythm.

"You make a very lovely sound, the gems think so as well," she muttered probably not making a lick of sense to the earthy toned lioness, "I'm Boma, by the way." she added, she didn't quite like introductions they did not say much about people.

Dinah joined in the laughter when Boma greeted her and joked about being face to face now. What was life without good humor? Dinah was not terribly shy, at least, and that helped to get along with just about anyone. She took a couple steps back so she could see more of Boma, and to give her more room.

"Why thank you, madam," she said politely, offering a slight bow of respect. She was not foolish enough to be unnecessarily rude, especially to a goddess. Dinah did not have a great deal of knowledge about specific gods, but enough general knowledge to get her by just fine.

"My name is Dinah, I'm simply passing through," Dinah introduced herself, "Is this lovely land yours?"

Boma returned her bow warmly and smiled, Boma was not overly shy, sometimes in a foul mood she avoided mortals, but for the most part she had nothing to fear, who would taunt or pester a very large and pregnant goddess? Not many showed the bravery to taunt one either. "Dinah, a fitting name. No, no, M'dear these are not my lands, I rule within the earth, not on the outside of it."

"Could you tap your feet again?" she asked politely, "it may seem silly but theres a tiny stone near by that cannot get enough of you!" she chuckled. Gems and some types of stone loved to compliment and praise those around them. This particular stone was a tiny shard of quartz with a flutey voice.

"Oh, I had wondered," Dinah commented, looking around the area briefly before looking back and smiling at Boma, "The area seems to suit you, if you don't mind my saying so." She blinked when Boma asked to tap her foot again, and then with a smile she nodded. Lifting up her front paw, she tapped the earth a couple times before doing a silly little dance on her toes to add a more unique rhythm to the clicking sound her beads made. Ever agreeable, she couldn't help but laugh.

When she looked back up to Boma, she smiled- and then she really saw the goddess' whole figure. She was very pregnant, and it might have been easy to overlook where she had such large wings.. but no, she must be about done if she was so obvious now.

"Oh my!" she exclaimed.

Boma chuckled and was pleased to find a mortal in such high spirits, it was usual that she found drab adults or excitable children, but never a high spirited adult. She cheered and was pleased to hear the quartz utter a thank you before falling silent.

"I am a bit dirty, aren't I? It comes from traveling," she answered and noting Dinah's exclamation answer, "Yes, I'm very pregnant!" She sat up pressing a large paw to her belly, rubbing it in a circular motion, "A little mortal or two rests with in me."

She pulled her paw away to show a very brown smeared cream colored belly. "Do you have children?"

If Dinah's mind had still been on her previous commentary, she would have reassured Boma that it was not because she was dirty that the lioness felt she fit in. She just looked so natural here, but perhaps it was just in Dinah's mind. She watched as Boma sat down and rubbed her stomach carefully, confessing it was mortals that she was carrying. It was a bit startling to the lioness that gods could bear mortals, but then again.. perhaps not.

"I have no children myself," Dinah said brightly, though she had to suppress a slight cringe at the idea. She liked cubs, but the idea of doing such a thing too carelessly.. for herself.. it just would not do.

"That is wonderful," she beamed, and not realizing she was heading onto a touchy subject continued, "Where is the lucky father?"

"Aww, one day may you be blessed with children that will be as wonderful and happy as you, Dinah," she purred happily. Her cheerful demeanor did not falter as she was asked where the lucky father was, for one day she could pretend to be the happy go lucky mother.

"He's who we're on our way to meet!" she murmured, "He'll be happy to see his dirty mate home and safe." She beamed at the thought of having an actual family like that her heart ached but she did not let her spirits fall, in Dinah's presence it seemed nearly impossible to be sad.

"Are you a part of the pride? Or a traveler?" Her lies would not work well if this lioness was apart of the swamp pride.

Dinah looked down a bit in embarrassment, partly for such a lovely compliment but also because it was a rather anxious topic for her. She could hardly imagine ever being truly so close to someone that that could happen for her. But she would happily accept the compliment nonetheless!

She looked up again when Boma declared that she was on her way home to see her mate, and she smiled. It was nice to know, at least. One of Dinah's major issues with the whole reproduction thing was being left to handle it on her own or leaving someone else to handle it on their own.

"That's good, I'd be happy to have you safe at home as well," she purred, commenting mostly on how close Boma seemed to be to actually having her babies, "I am a traveler, a rogue some would say but that's not a terribly flattering term, is it?"

Boma mistook her looking down for modesty, the goddess thought Dinah to be intriguing and worth her time, that was saying something. She grinned and thought of wonderful colors Dinah's cubs could be. Boma's children's mortality was an issue for her, but the mortality of other's cubs was none of her concern.

"No, rogue is not a flattering term at all, traveler suites you well." She felt a baby within her womb stir and kick against her and decided it would probably be best to keep on, it was a matter of time before she was to give birth and she wanted to be as close to the swamps as possible.

"I think that I should be going, my wonderful mate will be expecting me home soon, it was wonderful to meet such a delightful mortal."
PostPosted: Sun Feb 10, 2008 6:02 pm

"Thank you," Dinah beamed when Boma agreed with her on the topic of rogue versus traveler. Rogue had so many alternate meanings, she supposed a traveler- or wanderer- suited her much better. Perhaps she might even think of another term for it, suited especially for her. But she could dot hat on her own time. A slight flicker in Boma's movements caused the lioness to glance back to the goddess' stomach with a smile before looking back up to be told that Boma should be continuing on.

"It was a delight to meet you, Boma," she agreed, stepping off to the side so that Boma might easily pass by her, "I wish you and your family the best of luck and love for the future."

Boma'burudi stood slowly feeling suddenly old even though she was quite young for a goddess and started back in the bee line direction she was originally headed in. The swamps were around here somewhere, the earth was soft and the air a lot thicker than in the pride lands, she was certainly coming up on water, but how close was the pride to this location? She was not sure.

"Maybe you have much luck and love in your life, Dinah." She said loudly as she left, a sort of kind dismissal for the nice mortal.

She had no mate to head towards, but she was nice for a time to play make believe and to believe that she had someone to head home too, someone waiting for a dirty goddess to praise and hold close.
