I have one from a recent experiance.
Make sure you wear something under your uniform (other than undergarments of course) because you would not want to try and rind a restroom at whatever high school you're going to. Just wear and undershirt and some PE shorts or something.
Also, playing/ marching in a gym is a one way track to a heat trap.

An0nym0u5-2 Hey, I just joined my school IMPE. Got any funny stories? past/present shows? Tips/hints? To the edge of infinity...
hmm.. well our first show this year (my first show) my guitar strap lock came undone right before we went on. that was funny and kinda bad sweatdrop
tip: if you have a rock-out section in your song, ROCK OUT! if you do any visual "different" -- as in not with the same intensity or excitement as the other group members -- the judges kinda say 'wtf m8?"
oh yeah. Generally (at least in my group) drumline and pit are kinda cliquey. And sometimes members date each other from both groups (like my friend on vibes dating a guy who i think is damn hot. grrr)
... an invisible reality.

Always double check your instrument before you go out for a show. We were having problems with the frame and keys of my marimba one time and we thought we fixed it good enough for the show but someone else was playing on it right before we went on. So when we got about halfway into the show, I went to hit an intense cord and my marimba caved in on itself. Totally made a huge bang and fell to the ground. I just smiled (b/c it was a happy part of the show) and jumped on the base end of the marimba next to me. XD Of course all the instructors had to come help me pick my marimba up in pieces and get it off the mat after the show was finished. Great times.

Our synth says "What is soft", and someone inverted a cymbal. So, instead of waiting to crash it, to fix it, he just crashed it right after the "What is soft".........
