 ok, my flatmates...
since i got here, ive been feeling like i'm the outsider...
and, they make the kitchen a ******** tip, they pile up the dishes and...
they made this rota, with tally marks for the people that have helped tidy it up and at the bottom it says "CLEAN YOUR OWN DISHES" but they still expect people to clean up even though it's not their mess
it's never my mess...never...and if there ever is some dishes of mine that are needing to be washed, it's only because there's so much s**t in the sink that i can't even get to the tap to wash ******** the thing is i'm to much of a wimp to tell them what i think

Well, don't actually -tell- them what you think.. Write it down! xO
Like get a piece of paper and write something like "REMEMBER TO WASH YOUR OWN ******** DISHES YOU LAZY BITCHES" or something like that and point to the place where it says "WASH YOUR OWN DISHES" and stick it on the fridge xO!
Writing is so much easier than actually speaking it >3

I agree with Sagey.
If you write a note they may not know who wrote it.

Grin Evilly I agree with Sagey.
If you write a note they may not know who wrote it.
Unless they can recognize handwriting.. D:

Tough love time, I'm afraid. Rebel, grow a spine, you know? There might be other girls who are just as sick as you are, and who are just as afraid to say something about it. But if someone never gets up the nerve to do it, it's never going to change. Why should you have to live in those kinds of conditions just because one or two of your roommates doesn't want to live up to this expected list? The only way it's ever going to change is if someone says something about it.
Just write a note and say something like, "If this is going to be a rule, then it needs to be followed. Wash your dishes as soon as you put them into the sink. Not ten minutes later... not an hour later.... not when you get home from school... THEN AND THERE. I am tired of not being able to maintain the level of cleanliness and sanitization that we have agreed upon. If you do your parts, than everyone else will do theirs. If everyone cleans up their OWN mess than we will not have a mess to deal with in the first place."
If you're afraid they'll recognize handwriting, it's the technology age! Go to your school, type it up, and print it out. Everyone's got access to those computers. They can't pin it on anyone, then. If you can't, talk to a friend and get one of them to print it out for you. Then they can't even match it to your printer, if you have one.
P.S. - if you were not in the mood to be told to step up, sorry. I felt it needed to be said...

for the record, i've tried the note thing before...
a couple of weeks ago i wasn't sleeping properly, and one saturday night i wanted to get an early night, so i put a note on my door asking them to be quiet...
they went around just as noisy, and knocked on my door alot...
that's the kind of people i live with =[

Yes, but I think what you're not understanding is that the two situations are very different. In this case, this is something you've all agreed upon. It's already a rule in the house. All that you're asking is that it be enforced, which basically makes life easier for everyone [which is easier to clean - a plate you just ate off of two minutes ago, or a plate which has sat there with the food congealing on it for two days?]. With the sleep thing, you were asking them to do something that hadn't previously been talked about and agreed on. Well, I think it's worth a try... but it's up to you. I hope they stop being such bitches.
