A (very) disproportionate number of archaeologists, scientists, artists, musicians, psychologists, ect, are left handed. Studies suggest there is some link between left handedness and creativity (and possibly intelligence) Now, we know that no type is more intelligent than another, although the intelligence may be expressed in different ways, but Ns do tend to be more abstract thinkers. I think creativity can be linked to this. 10% of people are left handed 25% of people are iNtuitives
Also, evolutionary there must be a fine balance between left handedness being a good or a bad thing. Otherwise, more of us would be left handed. It must be a plus, somehow, to have one person out of ten in a group left handed. Imagination plays a huge part in our evolution, the ability to think ahead and come up with new ideas. Creativity. That which is usually linked with being left handed. Maybe it's having a small proportion of the group to be creative and come up with the new ideas, and the rest of the group to deal with the everyday stuff, that was important in our evolution.
Thoughts? Do you think left/right handedness could be in any way linked to type?
*This isn't biased. I'm right handed. =)

Although, it can get a bit complicated. It's probably better to go with right/left brain than hands. Some people have better gross motor skills than fine motor skills depending on the arm (example: throwing a ball with the left arm but writing with the right). There was a poll on INTPc here, which is mostly INTP, but has a few others. I can't think of just about any sensors on it though. Anyway, it was mostly right brain dominant, but many were just about even. There is also an iteresting article about MBTI and the brain here. There is even a nifty little chart that shows the correlation if you scroll down. ^.^

Truth be told, I was the youngest there... I wanted to go along with my mum because, quite literally, it captured my imagination. xD And someone asked a question to do with left handedness, creativity and evolution.
Edit: On INFP.gc there is a link to this site: http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,22535838-5012895,00.html (the same as the link you posted on "Please Type Me") ...for me she just spins clockwise, and the other people on INFP.gc could make her spin a different way when they looked at it differently... but for me, always clockwise.

Anecdotal evidence only, but: My father, grandfather and grandmother are left-handed (oddly enough, I'm not sure that my uncle and aunt from that side of the family are - I know at least one of them is right-handed). And that side of the family has several distinct personality traits, notably above-average intelligence, and a tendency towards creativity. My granny sculpts, my grandpa and aunt are good painters, and my uncle and dad don't draw often but they're very competent at it. They're all good thinkers, too. Abstract thinking a speciality - there's a shared sense of humour usually based on wild flights of fantasy, running jokes and general silliness, and a lot of theorising and speculation about more serious subjects goes on as well.
Now, as I said, we're not all left-handed, but the supposedly 'typical' left-handed traits of creativity and intelligence are definitely there in that side of my family. I think most of them would register as NTs.

That link is very fun. ^.^ I don't know how accurate it is as a test, but get a few people to look at it at the same time, and they'll probably argue about it. I can make her turn before a complete turn, so she does a weirdo dance, but it makes me really cross eyed. And I'm thinking that right/left isn't just T/F. All of the functions are linked in some ways. Perhaps Ne/Ni/Se/Si, in other words a xxxP would be most likely to be right-brained? With all other parts playing a smaller role? I suspect NP is most likely to by right brained, but I don't have much evidence for that.

LOL xD My (ENFP?) friend claims to be ambidextrous. She's left handed really >.> She WRITES with her left hand. She's creative, very bright, has a sticky memory, quick to catch onto things, wants to be a scientist (a marine biologist to be precise)... Hmm...

I choose the right typically because notebooks are right handed... gonk But if I'm writing a long essay, I'll switch when a hand gets tired. It's rather handy. Haha. Get it? Handy... Oh SNAP! surprised The handwriting of each hand is fairly different... the left definitely has the characteristic rightward tilt...

I suppose I could be called ambidextrous. My handwriting is just as bad with either hand. That is, it's completely illegible. ^.~

esgal dae I suppose I could be called ambidextrous. My handwriting is just as bad with either hand. That is, it's completely illegible. ^.~ Handedness isn't necessarily a matter of skill. I suppose my post was misleading. It's a matter of preference and dominance. Surely you write with one hand more than the other? Most people do. To be ambidextrous is to be the odd one out of thousands.

I was kinda joking. ^.~ I can only draw with my right hand at any reasonable speed, so I use it to write as well. It really is illegible though.
