Her purple-tipped tails twitched and her behind wiggled in the air as she tugged a thick blanket -- at least four times her size -- towards the area before the fire. The task was proving rather... difficult.
She'd decided that, after such a long day of playing out in the snow, it would be nice to come into the shop to relax in front of the nice, warm fire. That was exactly what the little wild kit intended to do.
Once Lilly was satisfied with the position of that end, she dropped it and peered over at the other end, which had, of course, unfurled and was spread out all over the floor. Bother. She pouted a bit, tufted ears flicking back before she bounded overtop the blanket and picked up the very end in her small jaws. Flicking her ears back and turning her head a bit, her translucent wings fluttered a bit as she carefully and strategically backed up. Once far enough, she dropped the end of the blanket so that it had been folded over itself at least twice.
Beaming at her work, she hopped over to the couch and pulled off a couple pillows, tossing each one in turn onto the pile on the floor. That finished, she trotted over and arranged each one of them carefully, and then stepped into the middle. She spun around a couple times before flopping herself down with a giggle, wriggling around in the little blanket-pillow nest.

Being a Temeo of the sea, Avast was not altogether pleased to find the day so miserable.
Snow and cold didn't make for grand sailing conditions, wherein lied the root of his distaste towards winter. All he wanted to do was get onto his ship and have himself a good pillage. (Where he found find navy vessels to loot he had yet to contemplate, but why worry over small details?) Alas, with the weather taking a turn for the worse, and showing no signs of breaking in the near future, a trip to the shop was the most excitement the gray male was going to get for a while.
Almost begrudgingly he ventured into the store, shaking off his sleek body to rid it of the clumps of snow clinging to his fur. It wasn't that it was coming down outside, really. Actually, it had more to do with the fact that Avast was clumsy at times and had fallen face-first into a large mound of snow. Perhaps it had been a snowman at some point, but sadly all that now stood was a mashed pile of white powder.
Avast didn't feel bad about crushing it- it had gone down after getting in his way. It deserved to be taken out.
Not long after entering, Avast noticed a small nest of pillows and blankets with a lump of something furry in it.
Blinking, he progressed towards the pile, sniffing the body slightly. "Hello?" he asked softly, curious. Was it a Temeo, or a cute little stuffed animal of some kind? He had never seen little wings like those on the creature before. "Who be you?"

The little fluffball quickly bolted into a sitting position, a corner of one blanket covering her head and one eye, and she flicked the ear it was caught on incessantly to try and get it off. Of course, it merely flopped the blanket against half her face, causing her to scrunch up her nose before she relented and jumped onto all fours, giving herself an all-over shake. Once satisfied the blanket was off, she plopped her hindquarters down on the 'nest' and peered up at the gray male with large lavender eyes.
My, my... He certainly was rather.. big, and he had... had..... had..something she didn't know what it was. She quirked a brow as she attempted to lean over as far to one side as possible -- without falling, of course -- to see what the things on his back were. Huh, weird...
She sat upright again and flicked her tails, fluttering her wings a bit before grinning at him. "I'm Lilly! Who are--uhh..." That was a strange way of speaking, certainly... Should she copy it, since he was talking that way? Did he want her to speak like that? Should she? Well, she might as well try. It certainly sounded like fun to use. "Who be you?"

Avast's ears erected themselves quicker than a man's wee-wee in a porn shop for the first time, his eyes widening somewhat in alarm to see the Temeo spurt up from the pillows and blanket like a pretty butterfly freeing itself from a cocoon. He hadn't expected to surprise her.
Hadn't meant to either.
Chuckling at the display, he waited for her to win the fight with blanket before making any further moves on his own. "Apologies, lass," Avast said once she settled down again, "hadn't meant to startle ye."
His smile fading somewhat, the larger Temeo found himself feeling a might uncomfortable. The girl certainly had staring down, that much was for sure. Arching an eyebrow, he tilted his head partially to one side, wondering if she was tilting for any particular reason or if she just had an ear infection that threw off her equilibrium.
Oh, wait. He understood what she was looking at after a quick peer over his shoulder.
"Tis just me fins," he explained, "ye can touch em if it pleases you. They be squishy like a fish." Kids liked squishy things, or so he remembered from his childhood. Or perhaps that was only a boy thing... either way, the offer was on the table.
"Lilly, is it? A fine name! Ye can be calling me Avast. Pleasure to meet you."

"Fins?" She echoed, eyes wide in awe. She hadn't heard of anyone with fins before. Feathered or smooth wings, like Stu told her about, and she had butterfly wings, but she'd never heard of anyong saying anything about fins. Before she could think more on it, he had offered her the option to touch them and had given her his name.
She couldn't help but giggle at his way of speaking; he sounded like some sort of pirate she'd heard of in the books Mardi or Nichii read to her and Izza. The little kit couldn't help but wriggle with excitement. "Pleasure to be meetin' ye as well, matey!" Perhaps she was going a bit overboard with the speech? ....nah! It was much too fun. Maybe it was a game? Or maybe he was a pirate... He certainly looked like one, for certain. And his name! That proved it, she decided. He must be a pirate.
Recalling his offer, however, she grinned eagerly as she bounced over behind him, nearly toppling over in her excitement. However, upon reaching her designated spot she halted and peered at the fins, studying them closely. So closely, her nose was merely an inch or so away from the long line of ocean-blue membrane. She raised a black furry paw and slowly, ever so slowly, reached it out. It stopped about an inch from the strange appendage that had somehow grown on his back, before she tentatively reached out and prodded at it. She jumped away with a squeal and a fit of giggles, twitching her tufted tails in excitement.
Satisfied with what was on his back, she allowed her eyes to study the rest of him -- including his tails, which.... the.... what? She furrowed her brows at the strange-looking ends, quickly flopping herself down and following the same procedure as with the fin along his back. Tail an inch from nose, hesitant to touch, poke, squeal, giggle fit.
She pranced around to his other side and grinned up at him, thoroughly ecstatic to have met such an interesting tem. She was glad she'd come to the shop.
"Are ye a pirate?" She quizzed, flicking an ear and tilting her head a bit as she peered up at Avast. Certainly, it was a silly question, but still. She needed clarification, just to make sure he really was a pirate.
