The sun would soon show itself on the horizon, the time when they had promised to meet. Rylin couldn't help getting there early. Yes, he had seen his brother, but not enough to satisfy the empty hole in his heart, which threatened to grow day by day. Heaving a small sigh, Rylin sat down in the dewey grass and awaited the arrival of his brother with an anxious smile.

{ It's always nice to post the cert of your taur, for those who haven't met him to get a good look at him. ^^ } Ribbon ran like the demons of hell were after him. His bright smile was only faltered when he tripped over twigs and bushes that dare get in his way. The darkening sky made it difficult for the young centaur to maneauver around in the dense forest but the fire in his heart kept him going.
Today was to be the day that he'd see his brother. How long had it been since they'd last spoken? He couldn't even remember! All he could remember was his mother's advice. " Pick a public spot so that you can find him easier. I don't want you getting lost! " Honestly, he thought she worried to much, but he figured that was just because she was a cervitaur.
When he tumbled out of the foliage and saw those familiar markings, Ribbon shrieked, " Rylin! "

His ear's perked up and he swung his head in the direction of his brother's voice. "Ribbon." He could feel his heart glowing with love for his 'younger' sibling and knew that it could be read upon his face. Rylin stood up and took off towards him. This moment had long been over do and he knew that.
Rylin came to a stop and wrapped his arms around Ribbon. "It's been a long time... little brother."

Ribbon propelled himself into Rylin's arms and snuggled against his chest as his lanky arms wrapped themselves around his waist. " I'm growing! You just have to give me time! " He laughed. If anyone in this world noticed those kind of things, it was his brother. " Oh, I missed you so much. "
The days, the years.....they all seemed to pass by too short! His mother was more than enough company for one taur to handle but a boy just needed his brother. Who else was going to pester him? Ribbon pulled back in a pout. " Where have you been? You could have visited earlier, you know. "

Rylin drew back a bit - not wanting to let him go, just in case he was but a figment of his imagination and would vanish once physical contact was broken. "Are you sure? I think mayhap, you'll stay a runt forever!" He tossled his brother's hair affectionately and grinned. "I've missed you too."
He felt as though his heart had dropped into the pit of his stomach upon Ribbon's disappointment. "I'm very sorry for that, but I've had alot of things to take care of these past few months." After a brief pause he continued on a much brighter note, "So are you ready to head off then?" This meeting had happened for a reason after all, they were to find their parents on this journey.

He pouted and shifted his hooves into the soft ground. Someday he'd grow, that would show Rylin! Nobody could stay a runt forever, could they?
Just as soon as his fould mood had come in, it vanished and Ribbon smiled brightly up to his brother. " Not yet. I've got to go get my pack! " The younger centaur turned heel and flew off into the tree line before popping back out with a good sized pack strapped to his horse like back, random vegetables sticking out on all sides. " Mama helped me do it. " He beamed. " She said that if it were up to you, we wouldn't have anything! " He hid his gigging with his hands.
Mikaila had been less than enthused when Ribbon asked for permission to travel with his brother. Her protective instincts had made it difficult for him to get a word in but when he told her that it was too look for his 'true' parents, she'd gotten quiet a little too fast. " Hey, Rylin. Why does mama not like us going places? "

Quietly digging his hooves into the soft earth, Zeke launched himself at the shadow. 'Leave it to her to set up traps for me around our home.' He thought as he kicked the dummy backwards off the path and into the trees.
The teen centaur was absolutely bored! There was no other way to describe his agitated mood, except for this small fact. Kale was busy with other matters...especially love ones recently and Zeke's dear Lia was off on a hunting trip. And she even left traps for him to train with.
So he had packed his bags and set off on a small hunting trip of his own. That was until he spotted an all too familiar figure just ahead. "What was his name again?" Pondered Zeke with a half frown, "Ribbon?" Ah! That was it...his name was Ribbon! Now who was that beside of him? Approaching with a small wave, he decided to find out. Hopefully this would be interesting...

A little hand waving a handmade wooden sword gave farewell to his father before heading into the thin copse of trees just outside their small dwelling. Mother was inside somewhere doing mother things. And father would be leaving soon to do father things. Today was bright and clear and the perfect day for exploring - so long as he didn't go too far. And so little Tommis tucked his wooden sword into his belt, made sure he had the lunch mother had packed, and went jauntily into the trees.
It wasn't long before he saw others in the forest though, what a nice surprise! He always liked meeting new people out here on the fringes. The last time his parents had gone to Haven Tree for a festival he'd been too young and left with an elderly cervitaur who often watched over him when his parents were busy. "Hullo!" he called out cheerfully without a shred of fear, the forest was safe. Father said so.

Rylin was just about to tell his little brother why, when he heard two seperate sets of hooves in the surrounding forest.
He carefully scanned the surrounding area and spotted them. One was a small boy, like Ribbon and the other was a teen like himself. Interesting. Rylin carefully looked each of the boys over and decided that they were harmless. In fact, it seemed as if Ribbon knew them, but just in case he placed him self a bit in front of his younger brother - not much to notice but just enough to protect him if need be.

Testament to the short attention span of children, Ribbon completely forgot about Rylin. He was aware that his brother was infront of him but seeing the bright contrasting stripes sent him into a fit.
" Zeke! " His little legs wobbled underneath the heavy weight of the pack as he waddled towards his friend. " Where did you come- Oof! " The sheer mass sent him straight to the ground. Ribbon snarled a bit, then gathered his legs underneath himself.
It was then that he noticed another centaur, only this one closer in age to himself. " Hello! " His eyes took in the earthy tones of the younger one with amazement. He hadn't seen anyone those colors before. " Why do you look like dirt? " Ribbon tilted his head to the side. The question wasn't meant to be rude and only after a moment did he think it could be taken that way.

Zeke's light green eyes narrowed as he heard another voice and the voice seemed cheerful...way to cheerful. 'I hope the owner has a good reason for that.' Came his automatic grumpy thought, but he pushed it away. It can't be worse than being bored...
Or could it? The centaur silently winced as Ribbon went tumbling to the ground. But then the regular stream of thoughts came to him as he continued to watch Ribbon. 'Serves him right for calling out to me like we're the best of friends. Especially when we've only met but a couple of times before.' His lips curled into his trademark smirk as he looked down at the younger centaur. "Should you carry a pack that heavy if you're just going to fall like that, Ribbon?" Asked Zeke with what seemed to be an air of amusement about him.
But then Ribbon talked to the other centaur that was also younger than Zeke. For the first time the striped centaur took in the features of what Ribbon had basically called the 'dirt colored centaur'. Was that a wooden sword? 'Kids.' Chuckling silently to himself Zeke couldn't help but to finger one of the new sharp daggers hanging at his waist that had been a present from Kale.
His gaze then traveled to the last centaur in the area, this one was gray and looked to be around his own age. 'But that doesn't really mean anything...much.' Thought Zeke with a neutral face, "Ribbon! Who is your companion?" Another thought and he looked back down to the younger centaur that was near Ribbon, "And who are you?"

Tommis looked himself over in shock. "I don't look like dirt, I look like Mother," he declared matter-of-factly and expecting that to be the end of it. "Why are you carrying so much stuff?" he asked with one eyebrow quirked. While he had thought the other boy looked silly when he'd fallen, he hadn't laughed. It wasn't polite.
His eyes roamed upward to take in the two teenagers and were he observant enough he might have noticed the resemblance of the brothers but did not. With his neck craned to look Zeke in the eye he said, "I'm Tommis, Regnis and Mollia are my parents," he said. His father always had a funny formal way of introducing himself... Tommis couldn't remember exactly how it was worded but it had to do with parents and grandparents and so on.

Aggitation surfaced and Rylin's right ear twitched slightly. If he wanted to know who he was, why not just ask him outright? He wasn't a piece of furniture and he wouldn't be treated as such.. even if the guy was extremely adorable... so instead of standing in the back ground and allowing this, an utmost insult continue, he joined his brother.
"I'm Rylin.. Ribbon's brother," he stared the other taur down, wondering just exactly who He was.

Ribbon quirked his head to the side at both centaurs, then straightened himself up proudly. " We're on a journey to find our..." Oh, what was the word? It was right on the edge of his tongue but he just couldn't think of it! "..um...'real' parents. " There, that'd work. He reached back to pat his wares. A couple of potatoes threatned to fall out the side. " I brought everything we'd need! "
His eyes widened with shock. He had completely forgotten Rylin was still there and was taken aback to find out that he was asserting himself. Ribbon reached over to grasp his brothers hand, pulling himself up as he went. " Yep, he's my brother. " The little one smiled. Remembering the way that Tommis had introduced himself, Ribbon puffed out his chest and said, " We're the sons of Mikaila. " Would it be too much to say that she was a cervitaur? Was he supposed to say that? Tommis hadn't, so he didn't think he had to.
