Malaika smiled brightly as she slowly made her way towards the family den that she had grew up in. She had left the den some time ago to live with her mate Kimba, and since having cubs, she hadn't been to visit as often as she should. She knew that the lion she was going to visit wouldn't hold it against her though. After all, she was still Daddy's Little Angel.

"Daddy?" She called up ahead as she came closer to the den. Calling her father daddy was one of the very few things that Malaika had refused to grow out of. "I've come to visit, and I've brought your favourite grandson." She laughed before stopping and looking back to check that said grandson was following her. "Come on Timi, it's not much further."

"Coming mother!" Timiza'upeo called back to his mother, before picking up the pace so that he was walking beside her. Being a bit of a mamma's boy, Timi loved going places with Malaika, and he especially liked to visit his grandpa. He wished they could go more often, but the old family den was quite a walk away from his own family den, and his little paws wouldn't be able to manage too many trips at once.

The old male had been snoozing happily, lost in the contentness of his dreams, Dreams filled with the face of his past love, and all 14 of his beloved children. He heard a voice, and thought nothing of it at first, smiling to accept Malaika and his grandson into his dreams, until his maroon eyes opened to spot two shapes looming near the entrance. Smiling happily, he pulled himself up and walked towards the entrace. "Why, if it isnt my little angel and her handsome boy!" He walked fowards to nuzzle Malaika and also Timi before stopping to look at them both. "You look wonderful, do come in!"

"Not so little anymore Daddy." Malaika replied with a giggle, before making her way over to Mahiri and nuzzling into his fluffy mane. She smiled happily, glad to see that her father appeared to be doing well.

"So do you!" She grinned. "You're not as grey as you ought to be." Saying that, she let out a little laugh before glancing over her shoulder. "Come on Timi, say hello to your grandpa."

When Timiza'upeo caught up with his mother, he remained at her side, almost hiding behind her hind legs. Although the golden juvenile loved his grandpa, he was still rather shy around anyone other than his parents. He was no where near as timid these days as he was when he was a cub though, so it wasn't long before he trotted out from under Malaika's legs and went to his grandfather.

"Grandpa!" He said with a happy smile, his head just about reaching the top of Mahiri's legs. Since he couldn't reach his grandpa's mane for a nuzzle, he just nuzzled into his front legs.

"Ah, you'll always be my little angel to me." He purred happily. "Thankyou" He laughed at her remark. "Hopefully, I've still got a bit of time left in me!" Mahiri was happy, although he'd had some hard times in life with Bakhtis murder and the death and capture of Kiburi, and Mbaya and such, the end result was pretty good. He had a large loving family, and kept only the good memories to look back on.

Peering at 'Timi with warm marroon eyes the adult smiled again. "Hello there Timi! Been looking after your mother have you?" He looked over the pair fondly and reached down to his legs to nuzzle the top of his grandsons head. "How have things been for the two of you?"

Malaika purred contently as she sat herself down, remaining close to Mahiri even after she had finished nuzzling him. The golden female hoped that her father had a lot more time left in him, although sometimes reality would kick in and she would someday have to face the fact that he would no longer be around.

"How have you been?" She laughed as her father asked her the same question at almost the exact same time. "We've been fine thank you." She sighed contently. "Kimba is such a wonderful father." She chuckled. "Koy and Uru are as much his little angels as I am to you."

Timiza'upeo smiled and nodded at Mahiri. "I'm a lot bigger now than I was when I was a cub." His tone of voice didn't exactly sound confident, but he liked to think that he would be able to come to his mother's aid if she ever needed it.

He chuckled. "Yes, I've been fine thanks, love". In all honesty, he'd been a little lonely lately. All of his children had grown up, and most had families of their own. A few had even left the Pridelands and moved on. He was usually visited religiously by one of his daughters that had no cubs, but now her life was moving on finally, and Mia was out having fun. "Kimba" He repeated the name and smiled fondly. Seemed a nice chap, and he kept Malaika happy. He must thank him one day. Koy and Uru. Voicing one of his thoughts, his maroon eyes lit up. "It would be nice to come visit your whole little family." He said happily, he'd love to.

Turning his affectionate gaze to his grandson he nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, I can see, growing up to be big and strong just like Grandad Mahiri eh?" He joked. He'd always been more of a jester and more knowlegable than he was strong.

(( rofl Just realised that he's not adult in his banner. blaugh He's still juve in this RP though. *Just reminding herself* ))

"That's good." It pleased Malaika to no end that her father seemed happy. She was sure that he still missed Bakhti though, and all her brothers and sisters that had left the Pride Lands. Thankfully, she was positive that she would never leave, and so she would always be there for Mahiri. "That would be lovely." She smiled. "You're more than welcome to visit anytime." Malaika was grateful to have such a strong bond with her father, just like Koy and Uru had with Kimba. And to some extent, what she had with her golden boy Timi. Although he wouldn't like to admit it, he was a bit of a mamma's boy.

Timiza'upeo grinned and let out a small giggle. His shyness always faded fairly quickly around his grandpa and it wasn't long before he was stood up straight and holding his head high. "Do you really think I'll grow to be as big and strong as you Grandfather?" His bright purple eyes shone with excitement at the prospect of growing that big. He wasn't sure if it would be possible, as he hadn't been the largest of cubs and he hadn't grown much as a juvenile either. Still, the very thought of growing that big made him happy.

Obviously Malaika didn't know, but the old male was actually thinking of his mate right that moment. There wasn't a day that went by where he didn't miss her, where he didn't long to see her beautiful blue eyes or hear her soft voice. He knew Bakhti would have been proud of her sons and daughters, so he was happy. Sometimes Mahiri would sleep under the stars to feel closer to the lioness. Watching her beautiful spirit twinkle in the nights sky. He'd drifted off for a minute, but shook his chocolate maned head with a small chuckle. "I shall do so then!" He was glad he had such a loving daughter, and one that had stayed so close to home aswell, there were others that weren't as friendly.. He remember Mbaya with a short pang of sadness.

Turning his attention to his nephew again he nodded. "Of course!" He was proud of his already growing Nephew, he also seemed to be coming out of his shell a little more. He always seemed really shy when they first met. "Then you can look after your mother for me eh?" He smiled broadly.

Malaika smiled as she watched her father and her son interact. "I'll be the safest lioness in all the Pride Lands with Kimba and Timi there to protect me." Saying that, she reached out a paw to pull Timiza'upeo towards her so that she could give him a big hug and a nuzzle."

She soon turned back to Mahiri, her head tilted a little. "Do you need anything while we're here daddy? When did you last eat?" Malaika would happily do anything for her father, and was most happy when he would accept her help rather than decline it.

Timiza'upeo laughed and struggled as his mother pulled him in close. He eventually squirmed his way loose and dived between his grandfather's legs, attempting to hide behind them and his fluffy mane. "I'll look after her if she stops hugging me like that!" He said with a giggle. In reality, Timi loved being hugged by his mum, but he wanted to be a big boy infront of grandpa Mahiri.

Mahiri nodded, maroon eyes glazing over for a moment as he thought back. Safety had always been something in mind for his children, but especially for Malaika. Unfortunately, he had raised a cub that was jealous, malicious and thankfully now out of the way. It was that day he turned his back that he wished he could go back in time and change. But just like Bakhtis death, nothing could be done. He felt bad for his relief at the dissapearance of Mbaya, as she was his daughter all the same, but he couldn't believe the terrible emotions she had been lead by.

As Malaika asked him a question, he snapped back into reality, his greying face changing, becoming more alive. A smile cracked on his maw and he thought back. When was the last time he had eaten? His memory really wasnt what it used to be, but he knew he wasn't particularly hungry. Oh yes, Mia had bought him something this morning. If only he could remember what. A gazelle maybe. Looking up at his beloved daughter, he smiled. "I'm fine thankyou, angel." He gave a contented purr and then directed his attention to his Grandson. "I'm sure you will look after your mother, you'll make you grandad proud." His chest swelled to convey this emotion and he gave a dreamy smile. Life at his age was certainly sweet, despite the hard times.

Malaika watched her father carefully as he seemingly drifted off into thought. It was so hard not to worry about him, due to his age and all that he had been through in his life. She could never even imagine what her life would be like without him, so all she could do was think positively.

When he replied, Malaika smiled and nodded, content that her father was indeed fine. "You know that if you need anything, you just need to ask OK?" She too began to purr, before turning back to Timiza'upeo. "Did you hear that son? You need to do your best to make grandad Mahiri proud." She said with a giggle.

Timiza'upeo peered up at his grandfather, struggling to see his face through his thick and fluffy mane. "When I'm as big and strong as you, I'll be unstoppable! Right Grandfather?" Visiting Mahiri always brought Timi just that little bit further out of his shell, which was a very good thing. "Maybe I could be a Guard in the future!"

"Thankyou Malaika." He truly appreciated the effort that his daughter made. It was obvious that she worried about him, and he knew that one day he would no longer be here to look after her, and then it would really be down to Timi'. Although, he wasn't about to voice his thoughts and scare the poor child. Chuckling he leant down to gently tackle his grandson. "Of course, you'll be very strong, I can tell." He nodded wisely.

"Have you seen much of the rest of your family?" Mahiri asked. He received occasional visits from other but he accepted that they had mostly gone their own way, some even leaving the Pridelands.

Malaika smiled down at Timiza'upeo before looking back to Mahiri. "Not really. It seems like most of them aren't really around anymore." She looked sad for a moment, but soon brightened up. "We can't blame them for wanting to explore the big wide world." Malaika was perfectly happy in the Pride Lands, so she was positive that she herself would never leave it.

Timiza'upeo looked from Mahiri, to his mother, and then back again as they talked. "You don't have to worry mum, I'll never leave here! I'll always be around to look after you." The juvenile's words were very sincere.

Malaika chuckled and gave her son a nuzzle. "Speaking of exploring the big wide world, Kimba had already left the den this morning before we set out. If we're not back before he is, I bet he'll send out a search party." She turned back to her father and moved to nuzzle into his mane. "As I said, I'd love for you to come and visit us soon Daddy." She then licked his cheek and smiled. "I love you Daddy. See you soon."

"Aww." Timi sulked when he realised that they were leaving. "See you soon Grandfather!" With that, he joined his mother at her side as she started making her way back to their own den. He hoped that they would be back to visit Mahiri soon, or that he would come and visit them.
