What makes you think it's the last season? Besides, Moe hasn't gotten a cell phone, Bart never owned a bear, Marge never became a full-time robot.... There's still material there, just like the song "They'll Never Stop the Simpsons" says.

True but I hate to say that the material is getting kinda stale. crying I always fall back to the old episodes but I atempt to watch the new one's out of curiosity...

While it may be getting stale, it's understandable. They've been on TV since 1989. Almost twenty years now. You can see how it gets more difficult to write things.

It's really FOX's decision to keep the series going or not. As long as it's got good ratings, they'll keep making it, no matter how bad it gets.

Well, I'd assume it would, but Matt will still hopefully be making Futurama after the four movies.... Which means he won't be retiring any times soon.... Hoepfully Simpsons will before it goes all Family Guy/ South Park on us. xp

I thought about that. But I'm still skeptical on how T.V wll be become after new episodes ,and the many many years when it (God forbid) goes off the air.... (stupid family guy....)

I like family guy, but I still say that it's a cheap rip off of the simpsons, that's probably why I've always liked it, but on the same note have always liked the simpsons a lot more.
Now onto the actual question or this thread... Are they going to quit making new episodes of the simpsons after this season is over? I'm not really sure, but I watch new episodes here and there, while not actually being as funny as the old ones used to be, they still get a few laughs out of me, this is the only cartoon that has gone on as long as it did with having so many celebrity guests (with their actual voices unlike some cartoons), and whether people like it or not basically everyone knows about the show old or young. The simpsons isn't one of those 1-3 season fad shows where someone likes it, and then doesn't like it anymore because everythings old, this is because there's something new every episode, even in the new ones which you may not like as much they're still changing things around after doing virtually everything already.
So if they do quit the show, matt accomplished something that no other show that comes to my mind has ever done with the simpsons already, but if he keeps going on with it then we'll keep having something new to watch.

The Simpsons have even made it to the Guiness World Record books to this day as the longest living show that's animated. If they ever run out of ideas, I'm sure they can rip off the comic series stories from the Bongo staff. I son't see how they make episodes and comics.
