 Where are you?I needs new strings, I'm cheap, I'd like to know what's good for a low price.
If I can get 4 strings for a good price, bingo.
If not, then just a G please. (It broke a few nights ago.)
I know I don't post around here much anymore, but I rarely check my guilds anymore.
But never the less, I need expertise of the experienced now, so what's some suggestions? There you are...

Finger style, pick, slap? How do you play. Fretless, fretted, do you prefer smooth and mellow, bright and punchy, thumpy, so many questions that need to be asked >.>
Off the top of my head, can't go wrong with DR High beams or Ernie Ball Slinkies (For me anyway).

Where are you?I play finger, fretted, and I like a growl with treble. <3
But of course, since my bass is barely $100, I don't want to spend too much on strings, so nothing fancy, just something that won't break in a month and need replacing again.
In fact, I'm surprised the strings have lasted as long as they have, over a year. There you are...

I recently got new strings, strings are mostly the same, except with some you can get like rust proof coating and some fancy crap.
The cheapest strings they had, which i bought, were the Ernie Ball ones, they sound excellent. AUS$54.95
Just out of curiosity, how on earth did you break the string? My previous strings had been on my bass for 5+ years and i only replaced them because they sounded like crap.

Also I've broken Low B when I had one. Personally Rad I would tottally recomend some Rotosounds, they seem to last me the longest. I broke one recently, but that was because befor that I put on some extra heavy guage strings, and had them tuned up to tenor tuning, and they were steal. (I had to sand all the tuning machines, as well as two of the saddles I tottally know what I'm doing don't worry.) But over all those Rotos I had a set on for a year and a half, while I was activily playing in a band, and my last set last me about 5 months or so, and I replaced them for a different sound.

Also you can tottally get single strings if you want to.

I heart Roto. Right now I'm rocking the 66 swing bass set, but they're getting ripped off as soon as the british steel strings hit the market. Nickel core, black stainless steel wrap, elixir style coating. For not much more than a regular pack too. I love having friends in the business and hearing about this s**t early. XD

I'd like. I currently Have a set of standard swings, with a slightly fatter E, because my nut is way to huge the way I string things up. I'll definantly have to try those out when they come out, sound awsome.

Check Ernie ball is a good string and you can chose the string with your style of playing

Them Nanoweb strings are damn expensive, but I love them so much. Well, they do retail at about $95 or so where I live, but I get cheap s**t all the time from the local shop. Like a Perri's leather strap for $15. twisted
