Keisha sat against the trunk of a moss covered tree, her eyes closed. The area where her body touched the wood blossomed and grew greener, her soft glow equal to the sun, giving the plants nourishment to thrive on. Finally, after a moment, she opened her eyes and stared out at the field in front of her, her gold eyes heavy with emotion and pain. Her wounds always healed almost immediately when she was injured, but the pain still lingered. Another day as target practice, another day as a game, a toy. Once again she closed her eyes, almost meditative... Enjoying the gentle peace while the could.

Aljan gave a heavy sigh. Sometimes the burdens life gave him was too much. He had always appreciated the Goddess' faith in him, and being her chosen one, but the responsibility that followed with it caused him many troubles.
At times like these, where his thoughts stopped making any real sense, he had taken to escaping onto the plains. Starting in a slow trot, he quickly switched into a full fledged galloped. Had he had hooves, one would have been able to hear him thundering across the plains. But he had been blessed with paws, and hardly any sound sprung from his paws.
He knew the plains like the back of his paw, and, confident in this knowledge, he sometimes took to running with closed eyes, simply feeling the wind tear at his long mane, whipping behind him.
Today was one of those days, and he almost missed the golden ulaya sitting near the border to the forest. If he hadn't almost tripped in his selfconfident run, he would have missed her. However, he stumbled over a root he had sworn wasn't there yesterday, and blinked, narrowing his eyes slightly, trying to shade his eyes from the soft glow. The ulaya was female. And quite beautiful.
He skidded to a halt and pondered on what to do from there. On one hand he came here to be alone, but on the other hand, this golden beauty seemed to reek sadness, and seeing this tore in his heart.

Keisha continued to lay there, as still as a statue, except for her feather soft hair that twirled in the breeze. Finally her ears twitched and she opened her gold eyes to glance at the black male. She stiffened, looking almost afraid for a moment. Then she quickly stood and pushed herself away, darting behind the large tree.
There she curled up, tucking her long tail under her. Just let him go away and not come closer...
