Mist yawned, it was late out but she couldn't sleep. She stood up and walked from where she was and made her way over to the shop. Shivering she shook her fur and trotted along the ground. She looked up at the sky and noticed clouds covering most of the sky. Shrugging she spotted the shop and headed over to it. Opening the door slowly in case someone was sleeping in there, she peered in then went over to the couches.

Nexus was already there, curled into one of the overstuffed armchairs with a glass of milk and a plate of cookies. You couldn't get those out in the wild..
At the sound of the welcome bell, Nexxy sat up and peered over the back of the chair, his head cocked to the side while his large ears swiveled.
"Mist?" he asked, peering at the figure.
"What're you doing up so late?"

Mist jumped when she heard Nexus. She went over to the armchair he was sitting in. Looking at the cookies she drooled slightly then looked over at Nexxy "Hi, I was restless so I came over to the shop." Slightl worn out she went over to a couch and hopped up onto to it almost tripping on a tail. When she was situated she smiled and looked at him curious "What about you? Why are you here this late?"

"I dunno. S'pose I just missed civilization..and cookies," he said sheepishly, passing her a couple.
"I didn't want to sneak into Mum's house, though. I'd prolly end up waking the whole family in the process of trying to satisfy my sweet tooth."

Mist nodded laughed slightly. She also knew that she couldn't go over to her house because she had so many family memebers there and it would be easy to wake them. She set one cookie down and nibbled the other. "Yeah it is tough sometimes when you don't have all the things you normaly have."

"Yeah. But it's also interesting living in the wild. It's just frustrating that we haven't learned any magic yet," he pouted, scarfing a cookie in a single, huffy bite.

Mist looked at him unsure. "I'm sure we'll learn some time. Just not now." She finished off the cookie then reached for her other and ate in silence wondering if they would ever get to learn.

"I suppose you're right," Nexxy mused then sighed and ate another cookie.
"Wan' s'more?" he asked, crumbs falling from his muzzle while he offered her the plate.

"Sure, thanks." She reached out and grabbed one then wiggled into the old coushins on the couch. Biting into it she closed her eyes savoring the sweet taste. Opening on eye she pointed with her free paw smling "You have some crumbs on your face."

"Savin' 'em for later," Nexxy replied with a grin then hopped off the armchair and moved to share the couch with Mist.
"So how do you like 'running with the pack'? I haven't had a chance to really talk with Miss Nuiks but she seems like a wise pack leader," he babbled, not knowing Mist had sought the female alpha's blessing for their relationship. At this point, he didn't even know there was a relationship to speak of. Nexxy's a bit dense...

Mist scooted over a bit and let her tails rest beside her "It's nice. I wasn't that used to sleeping outside and stuff but now it's alot more enjoyable and Nuiks is nice, we'll probaly learn alot from her." Smiled as he continued talking, it was nice to listen to him talk as her mind dulled slowly as it got later into the night.

"I bet my sister Quick will get to learn some cool stuff before I do. She's always hangin' around Miss Nuiks. And Tay just seems indifferent. When I try to get her to commiserate with me about the lack of magic training, she just says 'The pack leader will teach us when she thinks we're ready'," Nexus whined in a poor imitation of the younger of his two sisters.
But then he suddenly stopped talking and peered closely at Mist, bringing his face in close to hers.
"You alright? You look kinda out of it it," he observed, quirking an eyebrow.

Nodding as he continued to talk she didn't notice that he has stopped and was now peering closely at her face. Snapping back to her senses she blinked a couple times then squirmed a bit blushing "Uhhh.. Yeah sorry. Just a bit tired.."

"Are ya sure you're just tired? You look kin'a flushed, too," Nexus remarked, putting a paw to her forehead.
"Ya feel a little warm.. Maybe you're coming down with something," he mused, tilting his head and poking out his bottom lip in a thoughtful pout.

"A-ah. No i'm fine!" She blushed harder and looked down as he put his paw to her forehead. She tried squirming deeper into the couch but didn't go much more down due to her large size.

"Well that's not true. You're not acting fine," Nexxy pointed out, clueless as ever.
"Here, lemme go get you a blanket. And would you like some tea too?"

Mist froze and realized true she wasn't acting normal. She sat there silent for a moment laughed nervously. "Sure, a blanket and tea would be nice.." She twitched her tail back and forth as she calmed down. She would really have to act less strange around him she thought.

Nexxy gave Mist a sideways glance then leaped off the couch and padded away. First, he retrieved a blanket for her.
"Here you go. Wrap it around yourself good," he ordered kindly then ran off to make the tea. Since he was doing his best to be quiet, naturally he ended up making quite a bit of noise. But, luckily, the shop seemed to be deserted at this hour.
"Hope you don't mind that it's just the plain kind. No fancy herbs or nothin'," Nexus said as he approached with a tray balanced carefully on his back. On the tray was a floral teapot, two cups, a bowl of sugarcubes and another plate of cookies.
With some fancy tailwork, he manged to scoot the tray from his back to the couch then he sat back on the floor and smiled at Mist.

She smilled meekly as he came over with the tray "It's fine, I'm used to the plain kind." hoping not to get in the way she scooted a bit to make way for the tray. She looked over at Nexxy who wat sitting on the floor then picked up one of the cups "You wan't some?"
