 Uziku'busu lazed in the fading daylight, his lean body stretched out across a sturdy branch. There was no better place for a leopard then in a tree. He had spent most of his day napping here. It wasn't that he particularly disliked traveling in daylight hours...the night was just a little bit more fun. You never knew what was going to happen. His eyes began to gleam as the contrast between dark and light grew sharper. The night was coming and he was ready. It was about time he found something to do, wasn't it?

 A hare bounded across the land in the fading light, seemingly running for its life. It darted beneath the tree housing the dark leopard, kicking up dust as it went dashing away. Several lopes behind the frightened creature, a dusty brown cheetah with golden spots ran up and stopped, huffing a bit. "Well, buzzards," the lean female cheetah puffed and plopped down. She shook herself and then raised a paw to rub a bit at one eye, the crimson bands standing out against her more dull fur and spots.

Usiku lifted his head slightly as the ground below seemed to become a stage event. He raised curious eyebrows as he watched the pray escape the hunter. When the hare was gone he pulled his ears forward slightly murmuring in a silky tone to the cheetahess below, "Fast little devils, aren't they?" His voice was soft and more casual then anything else.

The sky-eyed cheetah looked up at her audience and smiled up at the dark leopard.
"I'm usually faster," she replied in an offhanded way. She stood and paced a bit below him, watching his movements with that unfaltering smile of hers.
"Do you often lie about in trees waiting for unsuspecting females to run by? Very spiderish, you know," she added, though her tone was completely teasing.

"Spiderish?" he repeated, his brows vanishing under his hair as he jested, "Do you really find me so hideous? But I suppose if it means I can trap you~" But as he leaned forward slightly to get a better look at her it was obvious he was far from upset. In fact, he looked rather amused.
"Aren't very familiar with leopards?" He questioned with a slight twitch of his maw in the upwards direction, "Because this is where we spend most of our days if we have a choice, you know. Nothing compares."

"Oh, spiders aren't hideous. They're crafty and creative," she replied and turned a bit away from him though still watching him.
"You can try and trap me, but I have my doubts at your success," she added with a laugh. This leopard was fun! Not like she remembered leopards being. Well... he probably isn't a seer, then. Maybe just seers are boring.
"I grew up with a leopard for a nanny. But she didn't climb trees and neither did her son. But she was blind, so maybe he didn't learn how to when he was little and supposed to learn," she explained, her tail flicking back and forth. She was always moving, Kweupe. No matter what she was doing, some part of her had to stay moving.

"Ahh, but my web would be soft, I promise," he replied, his bright eyes flashing as his whiskers lifted with a smooth smile. It was nice to meet someone fun to converse with. A pretty someone to converse with at that. He let his tail slip off the branch, curling lazily below him.
"Mmm...perhaps. I'm sure there are leopards who don't wish to climb," he stretched out one of his front legs, "But we tend to do so pretty naturally."

"Really now? Well, I can still have my doubts," she retorted and sat down again, her smile changing a bit from child-like to more mature. Her eyes trailed down to watch the flicking of his tail.
"I didn't know that. Cheetahs aren't often found in trees," she said and giggled a little bit. Her eyes flicked back up to his and she lowered her head, shaking it a bit.
"You know," she added, tilting her head a bit to give him a sideways look. "It's rather difficult to look at you when you're up there. How about coming down?"

"Well," he replied with graceful simplicity, "I cannot run was quickly as you. I suppose that would make up for your lack of tree climbing skills." He shifted, standing slowly on his paws. His tail twitched and he kept his balance instictively. He stretched his muscles for a long moment before turning a little towards the trunk.
"I suppose it isn't too much to ask to build my web on the ground," he teased before jumping onto the trunk and then leaping onto the ground as requested.

She watched him in silence as he took his precious time climbing down from his perch, her paws shifting every so often. When he was down on the ground she smiled again at him, curling her tail around her front paws.
"Ah, well see the key to catching something quick is to convince it not to run," she explained, holding one paw pad up in an 'It's just that simple' gesture. This really was quite enjoyable. Kweupe had already forgotten all about the hare and the fact that her brother was somewhere out there hunting as well and expecting her to bring something back.

Usiku chuckled turning his head slightly to get his bangs from his eyes. He strolled over to her slowly, curling his dark tail behind him before taking a seat beside her. "Well, you won't run, will you? Since you like spiders so much," he grinned, orange eyes looking at her with a relaxed, uneventful sense of confidence. Take life as it comes...that was what his mother had always said.
