Her two daughters were still small though they now ate alot more meat than they used to and their milky teeth were all but gone from their mouths. She didn't exactly miss their suckling teeth but the closeness that she had gained from such a base act of feeding had made her in to quite a motherly lion though she still found it hard to tell anyone she loved them. Moses knew, but her cubs? Well she wasn't sure she thought they must know she loved them though she had never said it.
Striding proudly through the darkness her head high and her ears perked forwards she searched for her dark maned mate.

 Moses.
A King.
It was hard to believe and as the large male lay there, looking over the pridal dens from where he sat on one of the many thick tree branches that looked like the dried veins of some old corpse.
The place was unnaturally soothing to him, which was suprising to say the least as recently the white furred male had seemed to be quite tense.
But no one knew the reason why.
He continued to purvey his new kingdom till the scent of his mate came to his nostrils, taking in a deep breath before he moved gracefully down from the tree to seek out his ebony furred female.

Slipping quietly through the shadows the dark, salmon tinted femme lifted her head to greet her tall pale mate. Smiling she padded up to him and performed an old trick she had done since he had grown his flock of dark silky hair, she pulled at his mane. Smiling playfully she licked at his cheek and chuckled. "The children are settled." She puurrs looking up in to those deep red eyes her dark ears flickering as she looked at her dark maned Moses. She had been with him for so long she knew when there was something wrong.
"Is something ailing you?" She raised a questioning brow keeping any sort of emotion out of her voice. She cared, oh she cared more than anything that he was well and happy but she couldn't tell him that, she thought it weak to show such emotions openly, leaving her heart open to scorn so she feined indifference always.

As his mate appeared and flicked with his mane, his eyes narrowed, becoming half lidded in an almost subtle look of serenity and peace.
Despite his monochrome ways of showing the little emotions he had, one could still tell whether he was angry or happy by the simplest of facial features or body language...if one knew him well enough.
"Good." He said, responding to the earlier words of his cubs being settled down for their sleep.
As he was questioned of his current state of mind, he took a deep breath through his nostrils while he sat next to his beautiful, powerful mate.
He'd never once said that he loved her, infact, he wasn't even sure himself...all he knew is that life...despite how dark and unforgiving it could be...was much better with her around.
"Am I that easy to read, my Queen?" He asked, his silky tone of voice slipping out between his teeth like a mist before he looked up into the sky.
"I am thinking over the future of our cubs and briefly of my past."
Yes...it had been a while since his mind had crossed, but it had been there, what had become of his old family, his siblings and parents?

The svelte lioness smirked quietly those dark violet eyes smiling. "Theres certain things we learn over time, and I can tell when you have things on your mind." She smirked settling next to him her head resting under his chin so she could breath in the scent of his dark mane.
She had done this many times since cub hood though with age had braught acceptance that she and Moses were supposed to be together and noone could change that. She had always known she needed him and with the arrival of their cubs she knew she could not let him go. Love was such a strange word to think and to say it was beyond her but Moses was the only one for her, he always would be.
"The past? Do you worry about your old life Moses?" she looked up at him curiously her almond shaped eyes peering deep in to those bloody orbs. "I remember when my father told you to care for me Moses. It was a long time ago and it has certainly shaped my future that part of my past." She licked her lips slowly, a habbit she had when she thought deeply about soemthing that did not concern herself completely. "You have not often spoken of them my king, you past family, I have ears if you wish to speak of them." She smiled in an almost friendly nearly loving manner for her mate. She was not nearly as lacking in expressions as her sorbid looking mate but showing such emotion, well, it was something reserved for the dark maned male whom owned her heart.

Moses looked down into the vibrant, almond shaped gems that were his mates eyes as he sat there calmly and then let out a long, deep emotionless sigh out through his nostrils that almost sounded like a snort.
His family...his parents...now like fleeting shadows in his mind as he tried to think of them and yet when he did naught but the memories of when he was most close to his family were there.
"I just think of them from time to time..." He started. "I wonder what they think of me for my going so willingly with your father, someone they considered a monster and a tyrant."
All the while he spoke, he turned his head back to look out at the red tinged trees, as if they themselves had gorged on blood and for a moment, an almost sadistic smile laced his features before returning to his usual, monotonous expression.

Afritti let a short laugh roll over her lips at his explination and question. "Ha! I'm sure they thought it simply awful. The old man is dead and you are a king now, a king of a pride that is far more wonderful than the one you were born in." She raised a claw and pulled his cheek around to face her, her claws unsheathed though they did not peirce his fur.
"They did not know you Moses, they let you go in to the world they never searched for you. At least my father saw your potential. As this pride longs for you to lead them." She smirked and leaned up to lick his nose. "You will be a great king Moses and those of your past should just be memories they are not a part of your future what you see here is."
She smiles those deep violet eyes shimmering that smirk never fadeing from her lips.

The large male let his sight be guided by his mate, staring into her deep violet eyes as she spoke and almost shuddering at the feel of her claws against his cheek.
As she finished he gave her way a small, brief smirk before he leaned forward and licked over his cheek, a long and dark purr escaping him.
"You've grown very much from your humble cubhood." He said, silky voice teasing her ear.
"You will make a great Queen on this pride."
It was much a statement as anything, he was confident in Afriiti's capabilities as Queen.

Afritti grinned nipping at his ear and catching a little of his mane to tug in the process. "Thankyou my king." She coos in to his ear, it was one of those breif moments where she could whisper, where her voice became soft instead of brisque and commanding. It was a Moses moment, only he could command her, only he could control her only he could tell her what to do.
Humble begginings? Yes she had grown alot from the spoiled brat of a princess, she wished to see the pride flourish, longed to see it grow and change and become healthy. "It's our world now Moses, our future and I'll guard it as jealously as I guard you."

Moses watched her, letting out a small, rumbling purr that was close to silence as he sat there and watched his dark mate and then briefly leaned forward to lick over her forehead.
He was hers, he knew that all too well and he certainly didn't hide that fact even if he didn't show it that often.
At her last words he could almost feel the smirk tug at the corners of his mouth.
"Oh don't I know how jealous you can be, my Queen."
The smirk faded slightly and he stood to his paws, bright red eyes wandering over her before he moved past her, brushing her shoulder with his and purring against her ears.
"Let us retire for the evening..."
Something lay seeded very deep in the seduction of his voice as he walked past her, unconciously strutting in an elegant fashion like he often did and looked back briefly to see if she followed.

Afritti smiled, her dark eyes flashing at him in a dangerously seductive fashion. He knew full well she would never let him out of her paws. She would be the jealous vixen should any other female try and steal him from under her nose. He knew that she adored him more than anything in the world, even if she couldn't admit it.
Chuckling she got to her paws as he did and with her tail tilted in a cocky fashion she padded after him catching him up quickly and flickering her tail under his nose as they both slipped beneath the darkness of the trees.
