Koi had told him to meet her on the borders of the lands and so he had, she had even stated the exact tree at which to stand. Above him the scent of flowers flowed down and filled his sences making him feel kind of light headed. The muggy heat of the jungle mixed with these scents almost made him feel drowsy but he kept his eyes wide searching for his mistress where she had told him to wait for her.
An almost serene smile played on his maw as he sat there his ears twitching with the odd fly that settled upon them the sweet heady scent of the flowers attracting them in their hundreds to mill about drowzily and create an almost musical atmosphere.

Koi had ventured off to get a few things settled with her sisters and was now ready to sit down and rest with Liza for a while before they sought out the queen. She had visited her sisters a bit... visited with a couple of other members of the pride and scouted out a good denning place for Liza to stay until the cubs came. It would be improper for him to hang around her without real reason...
But if they succeeded in creating cubs... which she was nervous about... then... he could stay by her... and when the cubs were old enough... they could occupy him enough-to the point where Koi wouldn't feel guilty about leaving him alone... he seemed to be the kind of lion that sought out company of others.
She padded along, back to where she left him-and indeed he was there. She chuckled... had he moved an inch. When I said stay here at this tree... you could have moved a bit liza

Lizas eyes were closed as Koi approached and his mind was a whirl with odd thoughts. He had never truely felt like he belonged any where except for when he had been with his mother and now suddenly, he was about to join a pride where he would be treated correctly, a place he could call home.
It wasn't until Kopi spoke that Liza was pulled out of his dreamy stupor and looking at the deep orange lioness her grinned sheepishly. "But you said stay." He grinned obediently, he wasn't one to take an order lightly if koi had said go and sleep in the tree he would have done so. he knew no other way of doing things. He obeyed, that was what he did.

Koi shook her head. He was a loyal male... and the other males would do greatly to take heed of his ways. He was a male to bring honor indeed. I suppose this is true... Koi said, padding up beside him and seating herself next to him.
Well... I scouted out the male territory and I found a place where you can stay and if I need you... you can easily hear me... There is a small river that has cut into the ground a foot or two... and if I were to need you... I could shout down the river and you'd hear me.
It also has cover for when the rain falls and open spots for sun bathing-which is many of the males favorite past times. She said

Liza smiled and tilted his head gently. She had found him a place to stay? He felt very strange acctually being cared for though the idea that he could hear her and go to her bidding made him happy.
Flickering his tail he sat with Koi close to his side his tail wagging back and forth. "I'l always ccome to your bbidding ma'am." He puurrs his dark orange eyes smiling happily. "I llike the rain." He looks a little sheepish for a moment. "it's vvuvuvery rerefreshing." he stutters looking to the orange female with a quiet questioning gaze. What ever she should ask of him he would rush to do. What ever.

Koi smiled and felt his closeness... he was such a peaceful soul. Like a child in a way...easily persuadable but had a side to him that spoke of kindness and softness. Well... you are free to bathe in the rain if you like. It's all up to you.
But yes.. there is much hunting... water to drink and the weather is wonderful. The lands are safe and there is not much to worry about... it is a safe home...
I got a glance at my sister Gurami... her stomach is growing large... it shouldn't be too soon now when the children come... She said, lowering her head to sniff at the ground... it almost smelled as though rain had fallen recently.

Liza watched Koi quietly as if he was contemplating something, and one of those few enlightened moments that the big dumb yellow lion had made him speak freely. "I..I'm sure you can have cubs Koi." He smiled wagging his thick silky fluffed tail.
"YYou'll be jjust like your sist if that is whwhat you want." His ears perked forwards in a hopeful fashion he was preying he had said the right thing for soemthing inside him still feard females despite how nice Koi had been to him. Years of conditioning couldn't just vanish in a heart beat.

Koi smiled at his words. He reminded her of that brown male she had met earlier... who's words eased her fears. She sighed deeply. It is something I have always dreamed of... I pray too the god of colors to someday give me bright children.
Bright children mean high ranks... Which isn't all that important to me but if they are to get high in the pride.. a high rank would do very nicely. She said, clearing her throat. Even the very pale Nadra zuri was a proud and strong member.
Does the thought of cubs excite you... your own cubs... your bloodline?

Liza had never really thought about it and he looked at Koi for a long baffled moment. "mMy cubs ma'am? I I'v never rreally thought about it." He stumbled looking sheepish. "Bbut if it is what yyou want and i can help..I'll do an..an..anything for you mistress." He grinned then wagging his thick tail once again he hoped this was the right answer. Truthfully Liza had never considered children or even knew how to go about making them. It would certainly be up to koi to lead this particular fwoiret.

Koi laughed and shook her head. He'd have to help if children were to be born into the world. It took two afterall. She shook her head and gazed at the black and yellow male. He sure was interesting colored. Where'd you get your black markings from?
She cocked her head and awaited and awsner

Liza smiled lightly and looked off in to the distance as if trying to find the picture in his mind of where they had come from "Mmy father was a mmistweaver. he hheld these mmarkings. My mu..mu..mother was this cccolour." he pointed to his yellow coat.
He swallowed hard his dark head lowering so he could see eye to eye with koi. "I ggot my su..su..size from my mother ttoo..she was a vvvery big lllioness."

Koi smiled and nodded. A large female... and a yellow color... a good rank no doubt. She wished Liza's mother was still here... but at least Liza was back to where he was supposed to be. Then we will no doubt have large cubs.
Strong warriors and obediant males... She said, tossing her bangs. Why was she talking like this... it wouldn't happen... she wasn't able too...
But maybe... just maybe

Liza nodded obediently his tail wagging happily. "YYes miss Koi, I'll mmake sure thththe males are rraised properly." His ears flattened tightly against his head as he leaned down to nudge at her cheek. It was very unusual for Liza to make any sort of contact with anyone let alone the female in charge but he almost sencesd she was worried.
"I'm ssure we will have llots of bububig cucubs and I wwill rururaise them prproperly."

KOi smiled and nudged him back. She understood how her sister was very fond of Banda... There were a few males in the pride that were... not as obedient and perhaps thats why she was so attracted to him. Though she would claim him as her mate... she would probably not adore him like Gurami did.
I have no doubt that you will raise them perfectly She said with a smile. She thought about it for a moment and she made the decision that they would try to have children... soon. I think tonight will be a perfect time...

Liza gave a gentle nod. "Yes ma'am." He said simply standing and looking towards the dence jungle. He knew that 'making babies' was a private thing and she would probably lead him to some where secluded.
Fool though he was he knew some things were sacred and making babies was one of them. He smiled in an almost solemn manner at the task that was put before him his large yellow body slipping through the dark undergrowth.
