Shadow, the thread is Sesshomaru vs. InuYasha, not Sango, Miroku or that dude in episode 6.
Now, as for the question... Inu is the hero, but as far as fighting goes, it would depend on which part of the anime (or manga) you're talking about. He started off quite weaker than his brother, and in the earlier episodes Sesshomaru would have downed him easily in a one on one battle.
For the last arc of the anime, though, I would bet for Inu Yasha.

I vote for sesshomauru because when I was watching inuyasha I was more interested in what sesshomauru did.
I barely cared about inuyasha himself
