Bright sun shone on her paws, warming them to the point of pain. The dark lioness recoiled her paws from the burning light as her crimson eyes flittered open.
Upon seeing the grassy planes of the Pridelands, she quickly glanced beside her to see Feo fast asleep. A smile came across her lips. It wasn't a dream... The joy she felt when she saw him the day before flooded through her once again.
Jina slowly got up, careful not to wake Feo, and walked out into the bright sunlight. She had to admit, it felt good. She let a yawn escape her lips as she started to walk around. Being in the pridelands gave her a new hope. Though if it was the scenery or Feo, she'd never tell.

Feo could feel that something was missing. "Mmmph." He didn't really want to wake up yet, either. Though he could be a morning lion, the part of actually getting him awake was the hard part. He never really woke up smoothly.
So when he rolled a bit, and found nothing there, it was with a bit of surprise just how quickly his eyes opened. His red eyes scanned the cave, looking for a sign of her. He wasn't worried about her in that way, but still! She was supposed to be right there, next to him!
Whew. He caught just the tip of her pretty pink tail before it disappeared out of the cave. He began his morning stretches, each limb and the back getting stretched to get ready for the day.
He was a bit slow, though, and saw that Jina had begun to walk without him. Hey! Well, maybe that meant she was a bit more comfortable at her new home. He couldn't help but smile at that thought, and slowly pad his own way down to where she was.

Her pink ears flicked back when she heard footsteps behind her. She turned to see Feo. She smiled and waited for him to catch up. "Morning Sunshine." She laughed when she realized what she had said. It was the phrase her father would greet her with every morning. Every day it would bring a smile to her face, making her look as bright as the sun.
"I didn't wake you did I?" She asked a little worried. That was the last thing she wanted to do.

Oooohhh yeah. He felt like sunshine indeed. Even if his coat could boast the colour, his mane was still a ruffled mess, since he had forgotten to try and smooth it out before he left the cave. Oops. With a quick shake, he fluffed it out, letting gravity do it's part in smoothing it out. It worked well enough.
He couldn't help but laugh, though. "Well, yeah" he teased. "When I didn't feel you next to me, I sorta woke up with a start. But once I saw you just left for a walk, I was fine. Awake enough to try and join you."
He bumped against her shoulder. "Don't worry if you did wake me, though, I'm sure I would of slept all day if someone didn't wake me up."

She smiled softly and placed a paw on top of his head, smoothing a few stray hairs on his mane that wanted to stand up. "Sorry to worry you." She brought her paw back down and licked his cheek lightly.
"It's just so nice to be here." She took a few steps forward. "I had forgotten how nice the sun felt in these lands." She had to admit that the beaches of the Bahari'mtoto Lands were nice, but the sand that got stuck in between her paw pads was a different story.

He flushed a bit, feeling young again as she fixed his mane for him. It almost felt like...like it was what he wanted in life. With a grin, he returned Jini's kiss with a lick of his own on her cheek.
"Isn't it?" he said, trotting in front of her for a moment. "The lush grass is really nice, too!" He flopped over where he was, rolling in the grass while looking up at the sky. He didn't care of Jina was going to laugh at him, it just felt good. "Sometimes I feel like the sun watches over us, to make sure we're taken good care of."

She smiled when he returned her kiss, and watched as he toppled to the ground. She laughed lightly, and rolled over next to him. She looked over to him, "I've never thought of that." she said as she looked back up to the sun, squinting a little. "I love its rays on my fur." She exclaimed as she closed her eyes, a wide smile on her face as her tail started to sway back and forth.

He laughed. "Well, it is always shining, isn't it?" Yes, there was cloudy weather and the rains, but it just felt like the sun took it's time when hovering over the Pridelands, it was nice.
He rolled a bit over to rest his side against hers, pleased. "Oh? Does it ever get a little warm sometimes?" he asked. He could lightly remember his brother mentioning something about black fur and the sun not always liking each other. His coat was almost like the colour of the sun, almost like his mother, and s the sun's rays never seemed to bother him too much, except for on the criminally warm days.

She leaned over and looked at him warmly, her red eyes meeting his. "Well, there are certain days that the sun gets a little too hot for me. Normally I find some shade from a tree though" She laughed lightly and lucked him softly on the cheek.
She began to thing as she looked up at the clear sky. After a while she looked back over to him, "Feo, what's your family like?" she asked softly.

"My family?" It dawned on him that he hadn't really introduced Jina to his family. It would be a little difficult, though, since his family was crazy large. Like, crazy.
"Well, it's a big crazy," he started out, a bit embarassed. "There's my mom. And I have three other brothers that are my age. Then my mom had a litter after us, where it's another three boys and a girl. Then...well...she had another litter, so I have lots of sibilings, but then my sister did as well, so." He laughed. "It's hard to tell which one is which child! It's nuts, sometimes I don't even bother trying to remember who is whos, I just play with them when I see them, I guess." Which wasn't often. Ever since Jina came back, he made sure to spend as much time with her as he could.

A warm smile came across her face when he mentioned the large family. She laughed lightly and nuzzled him softly. "I've always wondered what it would be like to have a large family. Growing up it was only my father and me." She started to purr softly. "I would love to meet them one day."

Feo laughed, but there was a hint of a groan in there. "Really, I'm not so sure you'd want to meet them all," he said. "My mother will probably buddy up with you to plot against me." And that plotting would be cubs, no doubt. Shomoro loved children, and she would probably put extra love into grandchildren. Especially since her first litter had proven to be cubless so far.
"Then there's a bunch of cubs. Really, a whole bunch!" He couldn't understand why she'd want to have 10 little cubs running around her feet, but hey, maybe she liked that kind of chaos. "If you really want to meet them, though, I'm sure we can go visit my mother's cave sometime. I'm sure she's there with at least her litter, if not all of the little cubs."

Jina rolled onto her stomach, and looked down to her mate. "You know I'd never do that to you," She said but quickly she thought, "well...."
The truth was she wanted to have cubs. She really wanted to have cubs. But she'll leave that out until Feo seemed like he was ready. The way he was talking about his family made her see him as a little overwhelmed at the moment.

Feo laughed at Jina, as he wasn't so sure that she wouldn't plot against him! Him mother was pretty good with her words, and if she realized just how much Feo cared for Jina, she'd start laying the pressure on him, if not only her! He couldn't really blame her, though; cubs made his mother happy, and he was always glad to make her happy.
Though it felt like Jina took priority over his mother in his mind, now.
"Really? Well, I'd hope not!" he joked. "Or else I might have to do something to you!" He poked her side with one of his paws, giving her a silly look on his face.

She laughed back at him, half from his poke, half from his face. She cocked an eyebrow, "Oh, and what would that be? Tickling me to death?" She said as she rubbed her side where he poked her. He found it alright, her tickle spot.
