Who do you guys think are the ten best backs in the league and, as the title states, why? Here's my list, a little surprise for most of you that know me:
1. LaDainian Tomlinson - He's an excellent back even if this year wasn't his best. I believe he's actually one of the top ten all-time.
2. Marion Barber - No one in the NFL runs harder than Marion Barber.
3. Adrian Peterson - Absolutely flowing with talent, but injuries have been an issue already. This is my main man, but I can't give him numero uno with the way he finished the season.
4. Willie Parker - You know it. Without that injury he would have led the league.
5. Brian Westbrook - Surprised to see him so low? I realize he carried a team when the quarterback was hurt. Great. He's a really complete back, and I like him, I just like the previous four more.
6. Steven Jackson - A dominant back, but needs to stay healthy.
7. Jamal Lewis - He's back, boys and girls.
8. Marshawn Lynch - He's got talent, and I like him. He led the Bills, for god's sake.
9. Fred Taylor - Excellence indeed. He is a great back, he just doesn't have the extra something my previous backs have.
10. Willis McGahee - Hey, he's damn good.
Yeah, that's it. No Frank Gore, no Ryan Grant, no Brandon Jacobs, hell, no Portis. This is my opinion. Now, I want to hear yours.

1. LaDanian Tomlinson--The best of the best. No question. 2. Brian Westbrook--While McNabb has been hurt the last couple of seasons, who's been there to pick up the team? Yeah, Garcia and Feeley did good, but Westbrook has picked up his game during those times. 3. Willie Parker--The man was about ready to become the NFL's rushing leader this year until he broke his leg against the Rams. He'll come back next season with that chip on his shoulder. 4. Adrian Peterson--What is there to say but WOW! The kid got the start for the first time in about Week 4 and never looked back. 5. Joseph Addai--I know that a lot of you will think "over-rated" on his position, but when Marvin went down with the knee injury he filled in to help Reggie out. 6. Kevin Faulk--"Is this guy crazy? Putting Faulk, a backup, in before other big names?" Like it or not, this guy was a huge part of the Patriots' run this year. Did you see how many times the Pats ran those little screen passes to him? Did you also notice how effective they were? 7. Fred Taylor--He had a phenominal season last year and proved that, just because he's getting older, he still plays the game like he's just out of college. 8. Steven Jackson--He may have had a bum season last year, but he's still one of the Rams' most potent weapons. 9. Ryan Grant--The guy was a nobody: traded from the Giants' practice squad to the Packers' practice squad. With so many injuries to the Packers run game, they had no choice but to put him in. And what a second half it was: 929 yards in the last 8 games, leading the NFC. 10. Brandon Jacobs--Whodathunkit? A 260-pound running back. And he knows how to bulldoze through the defenses. Just ask the Packers secondary.
Hon. Mention (11-15 in no particular order): Willis McGahee Jamal Lewis Marion Barber Chester Taylor Derrick Ward

alright here we go
1.Marion Barber--he reminds me of emmitt smith running the ball except w/out the speed.
2.Ladanian Tomlinson--he can receive, block, and run that's all you need in a running back
3. Willie Parker--I didn't like him at first but he got better and better after each game now he's in the top 10 for rushing yards.
4.Adrian Peterson--he may be a rookie but he already has a record. all he needs to do is stay healthy next year and he'll probably lead the league in rushing
5.Brandon Jacobs--he has straight up power he can truck anyone that gets in his way once he gets full speed.
6.Jamal Lewis--He may be getting old but he's one of the few "real" powerbacks left in the NFL
7.Lawrence Maroney--he plays just like marion barber except he's just a touch faster but he can't break as many tackles
8. Joseph Addai--he took over Edgerrin James's spot on the colts no problem he'll be better next year than he was this year.
9.--Edgerrin James--sure he fumbles a lot but if you take that out, he's a damn good running back.
10.--Brian westbrook-- he's field smart he can catch block and run. he carried the eagles this year, he was their leading receiver I think(i'm not sure) this year and he's a running back. if not the leading receiver than 2nd.

Frank Gore was 6th in the NFL in yards from scrimmage this year (101 total yards per game) while playing injured with no offensive line, a bad offensive coordinator, and teams gameplanning specifically for him because their was no one else on offense.
And some of you guys seriously confused me. Marion Barber at #1, Edge James at 9, and Kevin Faulk at 6 particularly.
1. Ladainian Tomlinson 2. Brian Westbrook 3. Frank Gore 4. Adrian Peterson 5. Fred Taylor 6. Joseph Addai 7. Willie Parker 8. Jamal Lewis 9. Steven Jackson 10. Jamal Lewis

Many people have Willie Parker on their list.
He is a good blocker than can pick up blitzes, and is a very efficient runner.
...But don't consider him tops because he led the league in rushing for most of the season (before he got injured). Parker was 1st in the NFL in carries, which led to his pretty bad yards per rush average of under 4.0 yards per carry.

But Graham may not be on peoples' lists, because he is a newcomer than is a backup to Cadillac Williams (who will probably return to starting when healthy). I'll see how Graham performs next season, whether he remains on the Bucs or not. He could be the starter on a few other teams.

Tampa needs to keep graham no matter what. but i see what you mean.

Yea, if they went with what I said, they could have a double threat in the backfield....But they do need to freshen up their receivers, so maybe Cadillac would be traded to rights to one in the draft, or a current WR?

Yes that is something that needs to be done, Galloway is still one of the best WR in the nFL, he had one of his best seasons in a while, and well other than that we only have a few young recievers but not any that are gonna be that great (stovall if he wasent injured) and dont forget about parris warren who dislocated his ankel in th efinal seconds of the last pre-season game by catching a game winning TD pass) Good things are gonna happen for the bucs. Bennett just re-signed today too!
