I'm going to dump WIPs in this thread as I go along. If anyone wants me to explain my steps, ask specific questions smile Why doesn't she have feet? Or an arm!? You monster!I'm "building" this piece one part at a time and in color. It's like a bunch of steps mixed up into one. I think in color, I sketch in color. Leaving out the other arm and feet lets me think about how they should be placed/what gesture they should have compared to everything else I've decided on. ...since I didn't do any thumbnails (and never really do), this is a method I've found works pretty well. I'll probably update later tonight with a version of Pepps with all her limbs. Jesus christ, I have to draw more dudes. I'm so gay for 2D chicks...

It's sort of a contest being held by Imaginary Friends Studios, you can find out more information about it at artgerm.deviantart.com. Their mascot character, Pepper, has been drawn god knows how many times by fans, and now they've decided to do an official artbook of fan works. The reputation of this studio is HUGE, and a ton of great companies keep their eyes on them, so it's a very, very good thing to have your art selected.

*shrug* From my understanding, if you regularly release artbooks, do artwork for companies that people recognize, and are pretty successful, you have a good rep. I dunno. But having art published in an artbook is good enough for a High School resume, and I'm not letting this chance slip by smile  Update. Homework time now D:

Looking pretty sexy so far!
I think her headpiece is pretty cool, and also her thigh.
I'm assuming her belly/arm areas are still in progress, ne?
I like how you changed the angle of her eyes, she looks much more intriguing now looking at the viewer instead of staring off into space n_n

That's pretty sweet costume there. I always love your costume designs. 4laugh
I haven't been on DA enough recently to join any bandwagons, not that I have in the past or anything. School makes it hard to participate in such things. gonk But I know of artgem and the very popular pepper.
I love the design so far, what I would suggest is make her breasts perhaps less perky? Like have a more round-ish shape to them so they sit more naturally against her. I would assume a costume top like that would press the breasts to her chest so they would look all squished and whatnot.

Good work so far, but it's bland and lackluster so far colour wise because you haven't blocked in a background at all. Because of that, it all washes out.
Add some background in as you paint her! Just don't paint her and slap her on something when you're done; there's too big a chance it'll end up with her looking like she was cut out and slapped on at the last minute when you realized a grey background wasn't gonna fly.

I think the boobs are the right size but the way they're shaded makes them seem crammed up in there, especially those darker areas on the red part being to close to each other
