Friahna was wandering through the outskirts of the small, forested area; more than a little bored. The lithe female hadn't found any company that truly interested her in some time- although she knew what the real problem was. She didn't want any company- she wanted his.
She'd first seen him as a foal; and tried to steal from him. He'd caught her; and although she was sure it had succeeded then, she was sure now that when she pretended to be defenseless and hungry, he had seen right through her. Still, he'd fed her anyway...

She'd seen him a couple of times since then, too. Never really divulging much information about herself, or asking much about him. She found his simple, caring nature refreshing- and the fact that he was far from stupid stopped him from simply irritating her.
The past couple of times, though, had been... Well, different. Friahna frowned as she thought of it; instinctively keeping in the shadows, moving silently despite her thoughts.
He had seemed so big, at first. Huge, and overwhelmingly adult. But as she grew older, Friahna was finding that she was beginning to view him differently.
He was big, certaintly. But it was comforting- yet, at the same time, slightly intimidating. His caring nature also made her feel comfortable; but there was that spark of mischeif, that love of life, which she felt sure could become passionate if he let it. And the intelligence- she felt she could never get bored with him.

Actually, she mused, even when they didn't speak, it wasn't boring. Although she had started growing slightly nervous in his company, she had also started to feel more comfortable. That made no sense, but there it was- he made her feel damned mixed up. She didn't understand it, she knew that much; and it was driving her up the wall. There was the way she loved to look at him, too; his well-defined (but not over-large) muscles; the way his fur turned to feathers... Oh, and his wings! Huge and soft; the last time she'd seen him she'd ended up snuggled into them, and it was wonderful. They were so strange to her; but she loved them.

Argh, this was driving her insane! The small mare snorted and shook her head, irritable. She didn't know why she wanted, so badly, to spend time with him- she just knew that she did. She wanted to see his golden eyes, sparkling with life; his large frame, his-
Huge wings spread over his sleeping form? Friahna blinked and shook her head; that looked a lot like him. But surely it wasn't; after all, what were the chances of him being asleep, in a clearing ahead, just as she'd been thinking about him?

Actually, she mused, it was pretty likely that she'd run into him as she'd been thinking of him- she seemed to be doing it a lot. Still, she wasn't about to get her hopes up- just in case. Instead, she carefully stepped towards the clearing; each hoof falling without sound, her head low to avoid her horn catching on branches.
It was definately a male; a large, white one, and his sandy-brown wings were huge as well, almost covering his entire body. How many males were that large, and coloured like that? It had to be him! She lifted her head high; her stomach filled with a strange rush and her heart beating hard. She purposefully snapped a couple of twigs as she entered the clearing; she didn't want to take him by surprise... That never seemed to go well.

The huge male's ears flicked at the noise, and Friahna felt a silly grin come to her face; which she smothered. It was definately him; and she walked over to his head, each step elegant and perfectly controlled. She'd grown into a very graceful adult, and wanted him to notice that.
She saw his eyes were half-open as she approached; he was watching her movements, although the glaze of sleep was still over that golden hue. She stepped a little closer, until her tail brushed his wings. His eyes slowly rose up from her hooves; over her legs, her body, her neck, to her face; finally settling on her eyes. She stood tall- well, as tall as she could.
"Hey, kid." His voice was deep, warm, and as sleepy as his eyes.

Friahna's ears stood up, rigid with indignation at what he called her. Kid...! Sure, she was probably about half his age; but she sure as hell wasn't a kid any more. She tilted her ears back; tossed her braided mane from one side of her mane to the other, with a snort.
"I'm not a kid anymore, you know." Her voice was cool; she raised her nose, tilting her tiny face away from him to show her displeasure. Her violet eyes were closed; so she didn't notice the brief smile of amusement that crossed his face. It was probably just as well. He fought it away before speaking.

"I'm sorry; not sure what else to call you." He sat up; the sleepy glaze slowly fading from his golden eyes. "Seems that each time we meet, we somehow manage to not exchange names."
She was facing him again by the time he finished; despite her fiery streak, she wasn't one to hold a grudge- especially over something so silly. She gave him a slight smile; bowing her head. With his head up, even though his legs were curled under him still, he was at a perfect height to gaze into her eyes.
She was right; she definately wasn't a kid any longer. He had loved the physical contact in their brief meetings before; but now he sensed it might be... Slightly more awkward.

Friahna shjrugged. "Well, maybe it's time to change that." Her voice was a little softer than usual; the sun caught his eyes, making them flash; and brough out golden highlights in his mane where it filtered through the trees. It created beams of light, in which dust and small insects floated. She raised her head; aware of one of those beams falling over her face, and taking a moment to relish the feeling of warmth. No wonder he had fallen asleep here.
"My name... Is Friahna." She had given herself the name, with the slight knowledge she had of the creatures below; forsaking the one her family gave her. Sometimes, she felt the name was a childish one; as she had thought of it as a youngster. But somehow, she was more content with it than not; a nd she wore it proudly now.

Friahna. Kaali thought it had a soft feeling to it; a more femanine and sweet name than Kaali expected. But as she said it, there was a strange gleam in her eyes; and the large stallion thought that, maybe, it fitted her well.
"Friahna... It's a pleasure. My name is Kaali." He was suddenly self-conscious of his name; it sounded slightly femanine. But he put that feeling to one side; it was rediculous to feel that way.

The femaninity of Kaali's name wasn't missed by Friahna; but she said nothing on the subject, only smirked slightly.
"Kaali." She nodded at him; before her usual mischeivous grin emerged. "So now we "know" each other properly, there's no "standing on ceremony", right? If I want to, say, snuggle into your wings, I don't need to ask, right?" She gave him a cheeky smirk; trotting to his side, she dropped down. Tucking her legs underneath her daintily, she snuggled into the flank of the astonished male; who moved his wing out of the way, laying it over her back and shoulders.

"Uh." Kaali cleared his throat; it was silly to feel awkward, they had snuggled like this before.
"Since when have you cared about manners, and "standing on ceremony", anyway?" He was relieved to notice that the minor awkwardness he felt wasn't apparent in his voice, and let his wing settle into the snuggle a little more.
After being alone for most of his life, Kaali had discovered that whilst he wasn't very good at understanding social actions and reactions, he loved physical affection. Words were difficult; and could have so many meanings on so many levels. (Just like when Koochie said she loved him; he still didn't understand love.) But physical affection just plain made him happy.

Friahna took a few minutes to snuggle into him before she spoke. His closeness, his warmth; in her late adolescence she had found herself fantasising over these moments. There wasn't the depth of intimacy she had imagined; but there wasn't the nervousness either. It was a warm comfort.
"Eh, manners are boring." Her voice was slow and lazy; what a strange affect he had on her. She was incredibly relaxed, lying in his embrace with the sun on her.
