It's getting late. Where is Noah? a dark-colored Senrei thought to himself, sitting on a pile of soft grass. His brother had always brought him his meals when he returned from work. He didn't like the light. It stung his eyes, and it would cook you up quickly. How could creature survive in it? It was like torture, except you couldn't die from it. Not yet at least. If you would spend too much time in the sun, it would eventually burn you to ashes. That was his theory. He'd be going outside, but a small sliver of sun could still be seen from behind the distant hills.
Noah had always been late for the past week, strangely. Rov had found it strange that whenever he'd ask him for the reason, Noah would always say that his got distracted. If he could, Rov would try to find the real reason, but of course, the sun would still be out. Stupid sun.
He fluffed his feathers, and watched out the opening of the oak tree as the pink sky began to darken. Thank goodness. It was summer, and day lasted much longer than neccessary.

Noah muttered words to himself, tiredly dragging himself to the oak tree. His bones ached. Ever since the flower seeds he had grown in his "own little secret area" began to sprout, he had been busy watching over the flowers to make sure no one tried to steal or ruin them. When they would finally grow, they'd be gorgeous, and he could gather them to give to Kohana as a gift. He had been constantly standing, scaring away the young Senrei who played around near the area by giving them the evil glare (which is another reason why he isn't very social).
He traded a week's worth of food for the seeds by some mysterious Senrei he met up with. Hopefully it would be worth it.
Noah finally saw the oak tree in the distance, remembering that he had forgotten Rov's dinner. Rov was alway cranky and easily irritated when he didn't eat. Looking around, he saw a bush containing some sort of dark purple berries. It resembled something of a fat grape, but the skin had more of a rippled and crumpled texture. It was certainly better than nothing. He yanked a branch off the bush, and headed over to the oak tree.

"Noah, you idiot." Rov hissed, watching as his brother finally entered the tree. He was paranoid with Noah ever since he started coming back, later and later. He should know the drill by now. Noah comes home with dinner before sundown, Rov eats, and they both go to bed. Simple as that. His older stepbrother was too much of an egghead to get it though. When Noah had found him knocked out on the ground, he cared for him, and eventually, they became stepbrothers. They weren't really close, though. Most of the time, they had different views and points of things, and they argued many times.
Glancing at the twig of round, abnormally looking fruit, Rov groaned. "Noah, that better not be for me," he muttered. "you've been giving me just a bunch of garbage lately. It's like you're trying to poison me." he whimpered, tired of the junk that his brother had brought home for him lately.

"If you want better food, go get it yourself." Noah said irritably. He was somewhat worried for Rov. He spent all his time indoors, and he wasn't really fit. He'd grow old without even seeing a mile of the world, in his second life at least. Noah couldn't live like that. If he had, he'd rather comit suicide or something like that.
"You need to see the sun, boy." he grumbled softly, staring out at the silver stars which now dotted the sky.

"I'm not gonna eat that," the black Senrei stated stubbornly, and turned his head so he couldn't look Noah in the eye. Noah had this weird kind of glare he usually shot at him when Rov was being hard-headed (which was most of this time). On special occasions, he'd lecture Rov on how lucky he was to be cared for, and if Noah hadn't found him, he wouldn't been dead or diseased. He absulotely hated it when his older brother would do that.
"The sun will kill you, kill everyone. Only the ones who thrive in the dark will live until of old age. I'd stay out of it if I were you." he whispered coldly.

Noah rolled his eyes. It was typical, Rov and his meaningless theories. He'd probably grow some brains if he actually entered the outside world.
Sick of it. He was just sick of it. Rov needed some fresh air, and he needed it before he'd do something stupid. He didn't do anything extreme yet but break apart some of his furniture, but eventually he would do something drastic. He could sense it. His personality was getting blander, and it wasn't really normal.
"Go to sleep then." he muttered to Rov.

"I'm just saying, Noah," he explained, "I want you to live."
Rov shook his feathers and nested in his part of the tree- the darkest part. He glanced at the fruit and turned around disgusted. He'll just starve until tomorrow night. Hopefully by then Noah would bring him something edible. If not, he would just go out at the darkest time of the day and try to find something, but it would be difficult with his poor eyesight.
