“No no no, get that!”
“He wouldn’t like that!”
“Yeeees he would!”
“Nu-uh!”
“Squeak?”
The ermine twins stopped their arguing at the response from the rat baby, who was staring at the two of them from his place in the carrier. What were they arguing about? They were all kinds of pretty things in this store! There was enough for everyone in here! He gave a soft chirrup when they looked at him, face breaking out into a toothy grin. When the twins grinned back he giggled, before turning his attention back to the stuffed animals in the aisle. Yaaaay fuzzy!
Once Kibarango was distracted, Twitch poked his twin in the shoulder. “Well what we gonna get him then? Beatz gave us clear instructions to get him something fuzzy.” Spark gave a small shrug, blowing a lock of white hair from his face as he turned his attention to the stuffed animals in the toy aisle. What to buy a rat baby?

"Katura! Katura, STOP it!" A streak of dark hair and cat ears flew past the twins and the little rat as the young boy darted away from his keeper. Another boy, roughly the same age as the first, appeared into view pulling a non-too-pleased fox after them.
He was scowling, a tanned hand wrapped in the young boys mitt, and the only reason they stopped is because Ade, the curious little thing he was, stopped to stare at the ermine twins.
"Ade, what are you doing?" Yashis voice was a hiss and he tugged but the little boy refused to move. >| Damnit. "Stop staring at them! You've seen weirder people at home. Dad IS a weirder person." A little grumble but instead of trying to yank him away for a second time his gaze zeroed in on -
"What is THAT?" Ade whispered instead, his eyes going to Kiba. "It's furry and small."
"Hn. It's a Ghost. Weird. Now - KATURA. Stop it!" The snarky fox switched from a low tone to a bellow when he saw his younger brother climbing up a stack of toys. "I - Ade, go get him!"
Ade scampered.

The kid running past them was largely ignored by the twins, both of them too focused on arguing. Picking a toy for the rat baby was serious business! If they got something wrong or inappropriate for a baby, both of them knew that they would be marched up to Bantu's office the moment she returned from her trip. And facing an angry Bantu was on neither of their "to-do" lists.
Two pairs of ice blue eyes looked up, however, when a boy stopped to stare at them. The same pair of eyes blinked back at Ade, heads tilting at the same time. "What's 'e lookin' at?" Spark muttered under his breath, "Do I got something on my face?" Twitch simply shook his head, looking from Ade to the older boy he was dragging along after him. Whatever were they staring for?
Kibarango seemed to notice the scrutiny, and he gave an inquisitive churr. The kid needed to come closer so that he could see him better! How else was he supposed to talk if he couldn't see him?
"Actually, sir, I 'eard 'e was a Zombie. 's far as I know, thas different from a Ghost," Twitch replied with a sage nod, while Spark reached across him for a small whale plushie.

"A Zombie? Like a dead thing that eats brains?" Ade was still whispering, as if he couldn't see the two older things staring at him. Granted, he could, but he edged closer to his larger sibling with a little insecure twitch of his left ear.
Murrrrr. They were talk.
"A Zombie." Yashima echoed, his eyebrows arching up at that very... distinct word. "Who told you that? Weird glasses, big bird wings, talked about death a lot?"
"Iamel?"
"Not Iamel, Ade. Savius. His dumb little friend." He was oh-so grumbly but, still. The rat baby recieved a little frown, contemplative, from the kitsune. "Savius likes calling his little gryphon brother a Zombie because they used to be dead but they aren't Zombies. Savius is weird. They're kind of like zombies except they don't eat brains and are in a new body, instead of their old one."
"Yashi's not a zombie." Ade agreed from his safe-place against Yashimas leg, his blind eye staring in the general direction of the twins.

Both Twitch and Spark gave a small shrug at the question. "We 'eard it," Twitch started, reaching up to rub his chin thoughtfully, "From a friend of a friend. Saids these things that came outta sticks were zombies. 's what we 'eard." Spark finished as he tossed the whale plushie into the cart. "But we don't know no one with bird wings and glasses." This was a surprisingly true statement coming from the twins. Normally they were very secretive about who their contacts were, but it was safe to say that neither of them had met Savius. They had just heard what they knew from Bantu.
Kibarango stared owlishly the kitsune, before mimicking the expression he was receiving and clicking his teeth together in a brux. What was that face supposed to mean?
Twitch tilted his head as he listened to what Yashi had to say, listening quietly for a change. "So you say these kiddies aren't zombies? They can't be ghosts. Ghosts you can't touch, right, so what does that make 'em?"
