But I figured we needed something to move past all the drama...
I had an interesting thought recently, concerning a person's wings. Now, this topic is going to assume that the wings phenomenon is more than simply a case of the mind playing tricks on itself (Which Is a possibility I haven't ruled out entirely.).
It occurred to me that perhaps a person’s Wings, are actually just extensions of their energy flow, or network. Admittedly, this idea comes mostly from how I see/use my wings, but I thought I’d share the idea with the rest of yall.
So, any thoughts, comments, random flamings? XD

That's how I see mine. heart
When I feel them, it's as if my energy flow has altered and starts flowing in the shape of wings. I don't normally have wings on the astral because they annoy the hell out of me and I hide them. But I haven't learned to control my energy flow, so when I feel them I can't seem to do anything about it.

So-chan 15 ...O.o.... people have wings?...cool! Ack...not literally or anything. Have you ever heard of the phantom limb syndrome? Where people lose a limb, but they can still feel it there, like an arm or a leg or a finger? Well...some people have a similar experience, where they perceive limbs that were never really on the physical body to begin with, like tails or wings. This is for a variety of reasons. Some people have those limbs on their astral bodies and the feeling carries over. Some people who believe themselves to be otherkin have the residual feeling of them left over from a past life, kind of like how there have been cases of people feeling stabbing pains for no medical reason that is connected to a past life injury. Some people can kind of 'force' themselves to have them, like on the astral, only they force the feeling of their presence in regular waking life.

Well, from what I know of chi/ki, I don't exactly see how these wings would fit into the human energy flow without causing some kind of disruption.

I'm not going to openly share my opinion on this. I don't want to get ridiculed or anything. ;___;
But, I'd love to talk privately on it.
@Blind: I guess it would off set the natural balance. But, if you were living constantly with that inbalance, it would almost feel natural?
;o
Wings are supposedly supposed to cause back problems too. I don't see how that would happen though. Considering it's just energy. ;;>>

Completely disregarding my opinion of otherkin, wings are a 'useful' astral or phantom limb. I don't know exactly what you would use them for, but I've heard of people developing tentacles from the solar plexus. They are useful in manipulating or incapacitating people. I read an account of a girl imbilizing a mugger so her and her friend could get away.

For the most part they act as a sort of energy kidney, or liver, filtering out any bad influences. I've also recently been trying to get them to work like solar panels, absorb ambient energy around me. So far, that's had mixed results...

I get the sensation of there being something on my back from time to time, two places just below my shoulder blades. I don't know if it means anything, but I'm not really one of these "OMG I WUZ A DEMON IN A PAST LIFE" kind of people. It normally goes away after a few moments and it hasn't had any detrimental effects.

I read an account of a girl imbilizing a mugger so her and her friend could get away. I read that too. I'm aware of seeming to have energetic wings, like what I guess would be a phantom limb. I've considered ideas and uses, but I've never been inclined to try employing any idea I've had for something I could do with my wings. Most of the time I'm not aware of them, its not a big concern of mine really, and I've figured trying to use them for something would be more like adding a(n extra) middleman to something. Though, ShadowHail, I'm under the impression you're initially talking about the wings just about everyone seems to have. Am I wrong?

I don't find my wings to be unnatural, in fact, they've been there for as long as I can recall. At least, my first set was. They did, however, hurt my back, because I tended to carry most of my stress on my wings or at wing level. Then I got an additional pair created for me (that was an amazing experience, very personal and very intense) and that shifted most of my stress to a much more even weight. Now, if I get any pain in my back that's not caused by trauma it's usually in my lower back, where the second pair currently resides.
If you're curious about the process, I can let you know everything that I remember, but it's a little hard to explain truthfully.
