Life was good. Life was very good.
Okay, well it was a bit of an understatement, he still had to track down that b*****d of a stallion he used to call master....but still...in his heart he knew life would get on the good side soon. Ezriel....how dare he do something like that to his sister...his Eponine! He wouldn't have been so frustrated and raged if he'd at least stuck around to help rear the foals he made with his sister; but no, he took one and turned tail! What the hell kind of father was he?
Better yet...what the hell kind of trainer would he be now? Hmph. Zevach had looked up to the mutated stallion with such pride and wonder in his younger years....now? Thats all it was, blissful memories. At least then he wouldn't come home battered and scratched having to blatantly lie that it was because he fell.
Continuing on his way through the snow as his hooves sunk lightly, he racked his brain to try and remember the way to the hotsprings his beloved spoke about so fondly; the ones he was supposed to meet her at sooner or later. Time had flown by since that encounter with the magenta goddess, and Zevach had wasted not a minute of it. He was truely at the prime of life; his physical fitness was superb as his well toned muscles accentuated his teal pelt...he'd visited the family to see the new foals; who were now young adults. Hell he'd seen everyone he'd wanted to, except for the one he should see...but would have perferred not to.
Marius.
That idiot, going and getting a mare pregnant. He was just as bad as Ezriel; although he did not know the circumstances of his brother, his previous disdain of the darker stallion said enough in his mind. No matter...Marius would not win at their little game, even if he couldn't remember what the game was about. Zevach had plans.
He would find out Amary, the one who set his heart beating with such a passionate verocity and confess his long time affection and love to her. They would settle and life would be where it was supposed to be for him; foals that were expected and wanted, strong but striking in appearence. It was foolproof. His parents would be so proud to say for sure!
Smirking softly, he pressed on as the sunlight warmed his back, trailing through the trees in the forests leading more to the gentle slopes of the bottom of the mountain range.
He would never have expected to see who he was to see in a moment.

Life was certainly interesting. It was full of surprises.
Marius had always considered himself a gentleman. He had quite a few good female friends, and he was just fine with his policy that love didn't exist. It was just a word used to let two horses stay together without it coming off that they were needy. But then life threw out one little surprise after another. He met an exotic mare by the name of Neve, who was enthralling and wanted to give him a scare. She intrigued him, and he looked forward to their conversations. He had witnessed her own mother attack her and him alike, that Kalona being the pyscho Izusa. And then they had found comfort in eachother, and three children were produced. It was a very hectic few weeks. And in the end, it did appear that he had some feelings towards the winged mare, but they were still very fuzzy.
Life had surprised his mother as well. He had taken Belial, the half-Kalona of the group, to see Cosette. She had first believed he was taking in a misguided soul, until she heard it was his and saw swirls remnant of her on the red colt's back. Needless to say Marius had a very, very long talk with his mother about raising children, with her pressing to meet the mare and her other grandkids. He was afraid she'd get sick again, but she seemed to be doing well. At least dad was sticking around more. These were surprises that were great. Even though they forced the stallion to think differently, they shoved him into a world he would've never explored before.
But not every surprise was a good one.
As he strolled, his mind on how Neve had taken Maharet to meet Guilian and how Jaci and Belial would do on their own at their home, he did not expect to see anyone on his stroll. Though he was still heavily bothered by what Cosette had told him... That Eponine also bore children, but the father was not around. He had told himself that eventually he would hunt that stallion down and teach him that he should not mess with his family.
That was only one. The next unexpeced situation was now in eye-shot, and Marius was quick to halt suddnenly as he spotted a very, very familiar figure. His face became stoic and unreadable as he swallowed hard, his throat dry. Zevach. What the hell was Zevach doing here?

Snapping his eyes up and to the side, Ruby met with bi-hued of ruby and emerald, and immediate his smirk took on a more devilish appearence as his body turned to face that of his dear brother himself. Strange, Zevach's memories of his brother made him out to be this unbeatable force of a stallion....yet the image he saw before him was much different than what he remembered. Infact, Marius held many qualities of their father in him...he looked a bit on the tired side to say the least; probably from raising foals.
"Well well....what do we have here."
Zevach calmly spoke, purring out the words as he took a few steps towards his sibling, the snow crunching and compacting under his muscular frame and heavy trodden hooves. Tossing his braided mane to the side, the teal stallion held his head high as accustomary to his often too cocky attitude.
"You're most certianly the last soquili I thought I would run into today, what, sick of the family life already?" He mused, sadly the words didn't have nearly as much bite to them as when he was a colt. Besides, his mind was much too pre-occupied by a certian Magenta mare and a spiked stallion to be thinking up the perfect things to say to his brother.
He'd missed out on so much being away, news of Marius' bearing foals had come as a rude shock to say the least. Zevach always knew his brother to be a bit of a mare charmer, but never would he imagine that he'd get one pregnant! Hell, the look he'd given himself and Amary together that breif moment made even Zevach wonder if he'd ever been with a mare. Well, that question was answered now.
"What....too dumbfounded to even say a word, my dear brother Marius?" Zevach snorted, his eyes glued to his brother's frame whilst his tail flicked idolly.
It seems Amary and Ezriel would have to wait a bit longer, afterall; family always came first.

The image he had of Zevach as a foal certainly did match the Zevach he saw now... Except this one was more buff. Both Zevachs had the same devilish appearance that irked the hell out of him and gave him the feeling there would be trouble. He was brimming with self-confidence as usual. Oh wait. Nevermind. What the stallion before him was exerting was arrogance.
He stayed firm to where he was standing, his expresson guarded as he watched his brother start towards him. Zevach had always been shorter than him, at least as foals. Now they were equals it appeared... Or he had shrunk a little. He shook off the thought and swallowed, his mouth dry as he tried to hink of a coherent thought.
"More like," he began, looking at the teal stallion with a look of pure dislike, "Whatever I have to say to you is incomprehensible to that little brain of yours that only seems to know one thing - trouble."

Immediately a scowl returned onto his face, there he went again. Marius always was the more calculating of the brothers, and was always resorting to demeaning his intelligence. That pissed him off, so very much. Just because he didn't spend his time thinking before acting; if at all in Marius' case didn't mean he wasn't smart. He just knew he was more suited to handle things hooves on rather than wait and think it through letting the possibility of it becoming worse happen! Damn him, stupid god damned brother of his!
Well two could play at this game, and hell he'd been waiting a long time for it.
"If i'm so dumb, Marius....why the hell are you the one with foals at our age? Did you never stop to think, which I thought you were so good at; that your little mare charmer games would actually affect mares like that - that it would lead to something like this? Or was getting one pregnant your plans all along?" He hissed, already he could feel his jaws clench a little more tightly together when he wasn't speaking, his eyes set into a permanent frown.
"How is it....as soon as this happens you void from the family? Its expected of me, but I thought you were a momma's boy? Where were you when Eponine came home because some f*cker impregnanted her and then just left? Her daughter is so messed up; and who knows how screwed the son that the father took with him is. Everyone was there....I thought you'd at least have the gall enough to show up and see how she was doing. Or is your little floozy too important to you now? Hmmm?"
Perhaps he didn't deserve all of that little rage speech, but hell was he pissed off that Ezriel was to blame for Eponine's unhappiness - Cassiel's perma depression it seemed. That he could have been so stupid and naive to think he was so great. He couldn't wait to get his hooves on his ex trainer; even if the odds of him winning were incredibly low. He didn't care, he'd let rage blind him and lead him; for if he didn't - it would consume him sooner or later anyways. Might as well do it with a bit of a logical head on his shoulders.

Yes, Marius had been the more caluculating of them both - and out of all the brothers easily, as Aiolos always seemed a little too free-spirited to give thought to anything. So when Zevach came out with a comment like that about himself and his kids... He was dumbfounded. The stoic look on his face hardened, and he began to grind his teeth slightly.
He had always thought mares were better company than stallions. He had always enjoyed talking to Eponine compared to Zevach, and he enjoyed talking to mom more than dad. He never played "charmer games" with mares as his insolent brothe rput it. At least he never intentionally played them. He recalled how hurt Neve was when she was pregnant and told him, as she had feelings he wouldn't want to be apart of it. That was certainly something he had never planned on. He never planned on being attatched to any one mare - to anything, really.
Blood boiled under his skin as Zevach continued to spew foul words. And though he kept his stoic expression... Something jus seemed to snap. Maybe that little bit of tolerance he had for his brother was what it was, but it didn't matter now. Who did Zevach think he was to tell him that he just left the family? Who gave him the goddamn right to assume and call him out on assumptions? Bi-colored eyes narrowed sharply, and without thought he stormed closer towards the teal-hued stallion till he was yelling in his face.
"Who do you think you are? Don't act so damn high and mighty because you showed support towards the family for once. You've got nothing to do other than run around and pick fights. I've got a family of my own to take care of, Zevach, a family. Something you'll never understand, because whenever it came to family you ran off to play with some older stallion. Having kids was never part of the freakin' plan, but I'm not going to stand around and b***h like you alway do. And about Eponine?" Marius paused to inhale, as this all seemed to come out in one breath, "It's horrible that something like this happened to her. It's even more of a goddamn shame I had to learn that this happened from you. But since you knew already, shouldn't you be out finding this stallion and your nephew? Go on a blind rage till justice is done?"
His nose was maybe a centimeter or so from that of his brother's, but he continued anyway, "And don't you call her a damn floozy. At least I can go home tonight and know that somebody cares about me. Eponine can go home tonight, wherever that is, and know dad is there for her. But what about you? You show up when you want to and decide when and where you'll start showing support and love towards the family? You're mother's little disappointment, you know. She'll smile your way when you're home, but as soon as you turb your back she knows that it will be one helluva long time till she sees you again and that you're only out to cause problems."
-- (Ho boy, you know, Marius sounded a lot angrier when I had some swear words in, but I can't see Marius as much of a swearer. Sorry if it sounds forced. x3x )
