Vulcan snorted, trotting carefully around the puddles and mud that seemed to be multiplying as winter was beginning to slow and spring, however far away, sometimes reared it's head amongst the cold. The cold despised the water, it was everything he wasn't. Daddy wore his giant flutter wings, just like a butterfly. Mommy's were big and spiky Kalona wings, and her mane and tail were alight with fire. Vulcan had inherited from both his parents these odd traits, and bore wings that were alight with fire. He loved them the most about himself, it made him feel special.
One of his sisters was like mommy, always looking a bit angry and toothy, and his other was like daddy, happy with pretty wings and fun antenna. The cold was born as the only boy, and the only one that took mommy's fire so strongly. One of his sisters had it too, but not as much.
And that was why he hated water. It wasn't airy like daddy, or fiery like mommy. It was wet. And muddy. And gross.

A giggle was emitted from the throat of one filly as she stepped through the puddles, enjoying the feel of mud under her hooves. She was careful to keep from splashing, however, to keep from getting dirty. Delilah absolutely adored this weather! It was fun, and with her small size, stepping in a puddle was like stepping in a pond. Brown eyes scanned the area ahead of her as she walked, occassionally flitting te wings she had inheritted from her mother. Her coat was all her daddy's, and her short, brown mane was from her mommy. Her brother resembled their mother the most, while her sister looked like a great mixture of the two. They all had their mommy's wings, however, and Delilah had a feeling with three fliers, daddy and mommy had their hooves full.
So she made a point to not get into trouble.
As she bounded into one puddle, she caused a slight splash and shook her ehad fervently. She felt the water splash a bit onto her legs, and though it was a little nasty, she reveled in it.
((Lorelei will pop up very soon. <3))

Vulcan let his ears flatten back onto his head. Somebody was near by, and they were splashing all the disgusting liquid around. Great. The cold didn't mind getting dirty at all. In fact, sometimes it was fun. But he REALLY didn't want to get wet. And if it got too close to his wings, the fire would evaporate it and it would be steamy and annoying. But at least they were good for keeping him warm.
The colt quickly trotted, trying desperately to find some dry land. But it was everywhere. The snow had gotten everywhere, from under the trees to on top of them, and that meant that it was all just going to melt. Into water. The sloppy wet ground disgusted him.
The...whoever was getting much closer. Ah. Well. Perhaps they would not be too bad. Vulcan was not an anti social colt, but he found that he was quick to get bored of others, particularly when they held no benefit to him, or didn't have anything interesting to say. But he couldn't judge someone he hadn't even met, right? And perhaps they would be scary, or exciting.
