Bringing officialness to Michael's reign of terror.
Governors office, Kingston, Jamaica
The Governor of Jamaica peered at the Naval Admiral, still silently wondering why he was required to be present at such meetings. He knew little of privateers, other than they raided his ports every so often, but that was never anything new. The Spanish had been doing that for years.
The Fleet Admiral raised his glass after his speech, "Gentlemen," he murmured, "The King." Around him, the captains, Marine officers and Governor stood, muttering the words then drinking the toast. With that, the room cleared. The Navy had just been given the official orders, from parliament itself, to actively hunt privateers.

Several months had passed after the bill's signing. The East India company had caught several 'small fry' pirates but no one of major mention. With Kibo Botch and Michael whatever-his-last-name-is on the loose, catching a pirate named Scurvey John Hoff wasn't excactly showing why the Navy was being paid. They wanted results, big names, and a share of their loot.

A dusty, hampered looking marine hurried along the spotless halls towards the Governors office. His battered and scuffed boots clicked noisily next to the silent serving man's slippers. He'd left his long rifle behind at the front gate as law mandated. In it's place, were two tightly rolled up bits of parchment was clutched in private first class Richard St. Vier's hand.
The serving man opened the door, and the flanking marines let him pass as well, eyes staring straight ahead. St. Vier saluted the assembled officials, before handing the first paper to one of the secretaries present. The man read aloud:
"'Reaving along the trade routes has all but stopped. Our cargo ships are now safe.' It's signed by the East India Trading Company's sigil, sirs."
"That's not all, m'lords. From Admiral Cossen."
St. Vier handed the other sheet to the same man. Again, he read aloud for the officials.
"'Raiding on our colonies has tripled. Reports from survivors are confusing and unintelligible, at the best. We've heard everything from huge tidal waves to hostile vines to ghosts to flying ships. Other settlements are silent. Our scouts report all dead, many maimed and raped.
"'We require more support if we're going to stop this heathens. Outlying ships have spotted Kibo Botch's banners, as well as both of the Blackheart's. We need more men and ships!' It's signed by Admiral Cossen's own hand, and his sigil is present, sirs."

Governors office, Kingston, Jamaica
The Governor was silent as he felt the officers eyes turn on him. He closed his eyes then nodded. "Commander all private vessels and send word for the other governors to do the same."

A soldier staggers from the dock into the fort, a large gash on his back and an 'A' cut onto the back of his left hand 'must.......warn........governor' is all that can be heard from his mumbled words as he salutes the soldiers guarding the door, before walking through and falling on his chest just past the door "A pirate ship.........bearing Botch's banners............Descended..........from the sky............and decimated us" he says, breathing heavily between every few words "The Captain's name.........Auron.......he........." the soldier stops mid sentence, his heart stopping from blood loss, a single piece of parchment bearing the words 'Come get me, Navy Fools' clutched in his left hand, bearing the signature 'Auron Adreas' at the bottom

Jamaican Fort Barracks Kingston, Jamaica
The soldier would have been handed off to an army officer, who listened impassively at the naval hand, ignoring the wounds as he looked at the letter. He looked at the clerk who'd been present and raised an eyebrow. "Have that sent to the Fort Commander.
The Fort Commander read both and sighed. He handed it his runner who would take it to the governers office.
