Over the course of mere hours, the weather had changed from a pleasent, cool summers day to a mixture of clouds of thunder. Caprice hurried back to the sandy beach in search of a place to hold out the storm in. The ocean was her first pick but after arriving there she decided it was best to stay clear of the water. The fierce wind had turned the ocean into a pool of harsh waves. The waves built up strength as they swept across the ocean and then threw themselves against the edge of the sand.

As Caprice ran for cover near a pile of rocks, a bolt of lightning crashed down against the sand near her. It left a crater of black sand in it's wake. Stopping in horror for only a second, Caprice resumed her gallop and tried to fit herself in between the rocks. She would have been completely hidden if it wasn't for her big tail!

It would be openly stupid for him to proclaim that the weather had altered appropriately to suit his mood, but he could not help but feel faintly smug as the heavens growled irritably. He had been doing nothing but standing idle, and the sky had proven to be a welcomed escape for his indolence. This newly roiling storm, however...well, it made things somewhat more interesting. Crackles of electricity flickered across smothering clouds, and Nemesis snarled his defiance at being so manipulated by the forces of nature, having no choice but to search for a place to land less he was smote from the sky.

Narrowing his smoldering eyes, he was barely able to discern the streaking, fishy creature that was fleeing across the sands of the beach. A lesser. His mouth was filled with a bitterly acrid taste, and he spat crudely as though to rid himself from the very sight of the other who's paltry existence was beneath him. The big male landed on the beach with little grace, his hooves striking fiercely into the glittering grains of sand. The sky roared and lashed out at the aquatic Soquili with tongues of lightning, as though again sharing his sentiments.

Nostrils flaring, Nemesis allowed himself a cruel grin, throaty beginnings of laughter pulsing in his chest. The sands themselves had been charred from the wrath of the storm--but what was this? The lesser still lived? His burning gaze swept silently across the protruding tail, the tip of his own twitching with violent intent as he began to approach. "It'd have been better if you'd just let it destroy you. Even this storm can't stand to see your kind live..." He rasped, his voice harsh from disuse. Soon, he'd be close enough to snatch that tail with his teeth; a task he was looking forward to.

In a fruitless effort, Caprice wiggled around in her little cramped space. At every movement, she either knocked her head against a rock or a small rock broke loose and tumbled down on her. But nonetheless, Caprice was set on making herself comfortable in this strange situation. And in order to do this, she wanted her scaley tail in the cramped space with her. But this was beginning to see an impossible task. Caprice kept forgetting that she wasn't a tiny little sea creature, but instead a horse who just so happened to have some qualities of a fish.

Suddenly, Caprice heard a startling noise. The booming sound of the thunder and the blinding light of the lighning had both ceased for only a moment. But in that time, Caprice could clearly hear the sound of something stomping against the harsh sand. But wasn't I just alone...? Caprice thought to herself as fear began to pulse through her veins. Sure she had been a little scared of the ranging storm, but the fear she now felt was terrifying.

Summoning all her courage, Caprice pulled herself up from her position on the ground. Caprice peaked her head over the rocks just in time to hear someone mutter a cruel statement that could only have been meant for her. But she also saw the speaker. Charging straight towards her was something completely different than any horse she had ever seen. He had terrible red horns, spikey red wings, and a tail that sent chills up her spine.

Caprice stood dumb with her eyes open, unable to move a muscle as the creature kept charging on towards her.
