It had been some time since he had come in to the lands with the motherly female and he knew he was getting older. he could feel his limbs stretching and his flock of hair cascaded further down his spine.
Minty green eyes opened on to the world as the sun pettered through the trees and danced along his black and gold streaked coat. Letting a yawn roll over his lips he stretched out his legs, his claws peering out between his dark toes. It felt wonderful to be a lion, to be accepted and not thought of as a freak. He was still yet to meet the pridal leaders but Raza seemed pretty relaxed about him so hopefully the leaders would feel the same.
As long as they thought he was a lion it would all be fine, he just knew it.

Barazahi searched for the newest member of her family, the little black and orange-gold "lion." her own cubs were growing, It wasn't so long ago that she was their age... Ugh! She was not getting old! She had to keep telling herself that, her own cubs' last growth spurt made her feel older, though. She let out a little agitated growl as she paced to the nearest rock to perch on.
The beautiful lioness' eyes scanned for black boy before they spotted what she figured had to be him. He did blend in to the grasses quite well here, those golden stripes of his fit in well with the gold background. He'd make a fine guard someday, being able to sneak up on anybody. At any rate, she knew him but wanted a closer bond with him. She was, after all, his mother-figure (or so she believed.) She leapt from the rock and headed over.
"Hey Mbura!" she called when she got close enough. "Got any plans for today?" Perhaps she could take him hunting, or out to do some mini-patrolling, like her son Umlindi liked to when he was a bit younger.

Turning his light green eyes to the deep blue female the young juvenile padded up to his foster mother and rubbed his cheek against one of her legs. With age he had clung to his bulkyness and he was now a large young creature though his frame was sleeker than your average lion. This of course was due to his parentage but he still felt he could be a lion no matter what, if only his mane would grow in just to hide his more delecate features.
"I'm not doing anything at all 'Raza." He puurred his tail flickering happily. By spending time with the lioness he was learning better the ways of the pride he wished to join, learning how to be a real lion not some half breed.

Raza gave a purr when the youngster nuzzled her. She loved being a mom, as odd as it was. It didn't seem like that'd be in her personality, but it was. She smiled down at the dark cub before bending down to be at his level. "What say you, then, to a little patrolling? Or maybe a hunt? Or I guess we could go find a waterhole to play in." Raza was more tentative about the latter, as it would likely get her muddy and mess with her fur, but she'd do it if the cub wanted to. "Because spending a day doing nothing is pretty boring, I'd rather have some fun!" She hopped up, acting a touch cub-like. She waited for Mbura's response, tail flicking happily behind her. She had noticed the male had gone through a growth spurt, but blamed the more delicate features on the fact that, to the furthest extent of her knowledge, he could've spent months on his own in the roguelands eating scarcely a thing. She was a good mentor to him, in more ways than she was aware of.

Mbura grinned broadly his ears perking forwards as she mentioned a patrol and maybe a hunt? "I'd love to go patrolling Raza! That sounds like alot of fun and you can show me the whole lands right?" His light green eyes danced happily, learning the lie of the land was important to him, knowing where the lion markers where, knowing where his prides boundries ended. His pride. He felt more of alion with each passing day.
"Maybe we can bring everyone something back to eat too huh? Id like to learn to hunt properly, I'v never really been taught." It was only a slight lie, his father had taught him to hunt as a leopard would from the tree bows, this was not a very lionly act he needed to be taught to hunt like a lion to fully become one.

"Sure, I'll show you everything about the lands. That's important for an upcoming Shujaa like yourself to know, after all. We can try to hunt, but as you might guess, I have a bit of a hard time. We'll certainly try, though." She said with a cheerful nod. Barazahi glanced around to try to decide which way would be best to start, and also to be sure that those who were rougher on rogues weren't around. Fortunately, none of said lions were about. "Let's go that way," she suggested, pointing a claw off to the right. There were some large rocks over there that he could climb to see not only the roguelands, but various baobab trees and also a great view of the Mteo lands. She glanced down at him before padding to the rocks. "I can show you a lot more from on those," she jerked her head towards the boulders.
She was quite content that he'd chosen patrolling, this was the least messy activity she could think of.

Mbura gave a nod looking over towards the rocks a smile lifting on his dark maw. "Whats a Shuujaa Razaa?" he questioned as they started to walk. She had placed him in this rank it seemed so really he should know all about it. He knew that prides had ranks of course and he guessed the word meant something important.
"I mean what does one do yanno?" He puurrs placing his shoulder against Razaa and looking up at her admireingly.

Her initial reaction, though well masked, was shock that Mbura didn't know what a Shujaa was, but it was quickly replaced with understanding. He'd only been with them a little while, it'd be ridiculous to expect him to know everything. It had only been because she'd been raised around those of her own pride that she'd been surprised.
"A Shujaa is what you're destined to become. It's what males of the pride do when they grow up. Shujaas are the guardians of the pride. They patrol and such, much like what we're doing now. Females grow up to be Msaka's, like me. We hunt." She explained, looking from where they were headed back down to the cub.

"Ohh! I see!" he grins a proud look coming over his young maw his head held high and his tail lifting up and taking a sort of jaunty tilt to it. he felt proud to be a Shujaa to be, he would protect the pride just like adult lions did. He smiled to himse;lf feeling like he was walking on clouds.
"I can't wait 'til I grow up then! I'll be a big scary lion and protect everyone especially you Razaa." He smiled bouncing a little to n** playfully at her shoulder.
