So, my church's youth pastor is being forced to resign. Because he's teaching the Bible at the Sr. and Jr. high youth groups. Which is what he was hired to do.
What's the point of paying someone to be a youth pastor if all he's supposed to do is waste the church's money doing stuff like playing laser tag? There isn't enough stuff to do around here to do something different every week. People would prefer to hang out with their own friends anyways, so no one would come.
Apparently the pastor told Jon, the youth pastor, that preaching was HIS job, not Jon's. Didn't even tell him, "Oh, yeah, could you just not do anything 'cept fun stuff anymore? kthnx". Just basically fired him. With 3 days notice. Didn't even tell him why at first.
My mom says they'd better have better reasons than that. And that she's not helping with the JR Highs anymore, so there'll be no one there on Thursday when all the kids show up. =D And she said she most likely won't be playing the piano anymore, which leaves the church with.. Frieda, the 80-something year old lady whose husband just died. Bigger =D!
And a bunch of other music people and Jon's friends said they're going where ever Jon goes, as the pastor has asked Jon not to come to our church anymore on Sundays. My mom said if they don't have spectacular reasons for firing Jon, my family might start going to another church. Which leaves the music team with.. Wink's guitar and Frieda.
I hope the gossipy old ladies who don't like Jon are happy.

WTF!!! how religious is that! you should go to a new church, because, honestly, who would want to be part of a church that told one of their members to leave, for no reason!

Yeah. My mom's still thinking about it.
My dad said Jon could sue if he wanted to for like, the whole being fired for like no reason with next to no notice thing. 0.o;
