Well now this was rare form for her. Fortunately she had been quick enough to reach a make shift cave before the rains could kill her. After coming this far she'd be damned if she had to start her life cycle all over again, but she wasn't going to be moving again for a while.

Huddled as far back in the dark as she could get Teuli stared untrusting at the cave entrance where the rainfall continued to pummel the earth and rock. Her fur was drenched, she felt weak, and it was difficult to move. On her back her wings had suffered a near dousing, and hovered over her back in rather pathetic looking flames, compared to their usual magnificence. She couldn't even clean or dry herself off, and what she wouldn't give to be dry and warm right now. Instead her body was wracked with shudders and shivers as she tried to will the chill from her bones. This made the third instance she got caught by surprise by a flash rain storm.

She was really starting to dislike visiting the Pridelands.

Zeki panted as his wet mane fell over his eyes, even hitting and stinging his face as he ran. With wet fur and near out of breath, he had to find another resting place for the time until the storm is over. Looking at the inky gray sky and the little dots of liquid that stung like pebbles being throw at him. A crack of thunder made him falter a bit, pulling himself instinctively to the ground.

If that was Nix... He let out a soft growl pass his maw before he continued his dash toward a dry shelter. Before the young mortal, a cave was slowly coming into view. If there was a resident... they were going to have to share as he was not entirely prepared to keep looking. Though, he would not forget his manners. He would definitely have to ask if he could and make it up to them for allowing him to stick around, otherwise, he would feeling rather guilty for sometime after if not forever.

Dashing to the entrance, he turned out to look out into the now mudding grasslands. Unannounced to him of the other presence in the cave.

"It looks like I'm spending the night..."

Her eyes lifted, who was that, who had just entered the cave with her? At first she had to let her eyes adjust to the shadows again, but the entrance did illuminate the figure somewhat. At first glance she thought it was that snotty boy from months ago, who she had cursed, but closer inspection showed a golden form instead of brown. She was too weak to disguise herself, but rather than be discovered on accident , she made her presence known.

"Seems the Storm god is quite energetic today..." She spoke out between tired breaths, her chin resting between her paws.

Zeki's head casually turned his head but the bulging eyes wasn't. Considering he had met so many Goddesses at this point, what was another? No, they were all unique and different just like any female he met. He smiled and bowed to give her his respects.

"Or he is sad. Angry. There are many emotions that could describe this in the views of the God of Storms, if there really is one," Zeki chuckled. He had no idea who are all the Gods, where they all were from, or if a specific one even existed. The only Gods he knew were the ones he had met during his life.

Lost.

Tornado.

Souls.

Earth's Womb.

Lightning.

Rage.

Desert.

This was another one... but something seemed off about her, best behave.

"My name is Ezekiel, but call me Zeki if you please."

"It could be, though I think if that were the case we would likely be suffering twice as badly as we are right now." She replied, shutting her eyes as another hard shiver ran it's course. Upon opening them again, she offered an introduction. "Teuli'ukilia... just Teuli would do."
PostPosted: Sat Feb 02, 2008 2:42 pm

"Good point, then the entire savanna would be a marsh. Not very good place to live then, huh?"

A joke.

Zeki approached her boldly to see what is wrong. Was she shivering? What could possibly falter a Goddess. Crimson eyes looked over her a few times before settling on strange wings. Unlike the others he had met, hers were the most unique.

No feathers... but flames.

"Is something the matter, Lady Teuli?"

She laughed weakly at that, but was bemused all the same.

"No, certainly not, at least for those of us accustomed to dry lands. I'd imagine that the swamp pride would be delighted, though." The amusement faded, dying down though it had been calm to start with.

She didn't seem to mind when he came closer either, not that she could do something about it if she wanted to like this.

"I'm afraid I didn't make it to this cave quite fast enough. I need to stay here until my wings dry, I can't really move until then, so please don't think me to be rude, Zeki." She thought to say, not caring to admit her weakness but not finding it practical or suitable to lie either.

"The swamp pride would see it prime time to expand their territory since some may leave theirs without an owner. But what they lose is their gain, right?"

Zeki mused a little that he was able to make her laugh, though weak, it was the point that he was able to.

"Not at all," he moved closer enough so it was a comfortable distance for the Goddess and he wasn't invading her personal space too.

"So you aren't well until your wings dry?" he tilted his head and looked at them. "I would offer to warm them but I am afraid what might happen if I were to touch them. Would warming you up help the process at all?"

Oh so bold.

"Mmm, right..." She shut her eyes, resting. "They don't actually burn, they're a special type of flame; Though they're flame they singe neither plant life nor creature."

They seemed to grow just a bit in size as the minutes passed, but slowly. Finally she had just enough strength returned to her to breathe easier, though still unable to move.

Zeki moved toward her, laying himself beside her. It was bold, one may think, but to Zeki it was helping a Goddess who needed warmth. He smiled and reached to touch them, however hesitated and put his paw back. Something about putting one's paw into it made him nervous...

"So you don't have feathers, do you?" He questioned softly, the din of the rain outside echoed in the cave.

Teuli opened her eyes lazily, watching Zeki in silence as he settled beside her, and already she could feel the difference as his body heat seeped into her fur and into her skin. Shifting her tail, she covered his own with hers, letting the flames there make contact. Indeed as she'd promised the flames didn't burn, didn't singe at least, but they were warm, like a sun bath on a pleasant, lazy day.

"... No, technically I don't..."
PostPosted: Mon Feb 04, 2008 5:57 pm

"Technically?" he questioned, twitching his tail a little at the sudden touch but the warm was very much welcomed. He moved himself closer inch by inch, testing her limits of personal space. That would be where he stopped. Again, curiosity took over as he raised his paw and against her wing.

"Warm... like resting closely beside another. What domain do you rule over, Teuli?"

"I'd demonstrate, but right now I need all the strength I can get, so I'm afraid that will have to wait." She replied again, still relaxed. "Though it'd definitely help if I was dry..." She purred, eyes locking with Zeki again. She couldn't help but chuckle as his paw disturbed the flames flickering over her shoulders, though by no means did it endanger them flickering out. "Something like that. I go by a few names, but the one I'm most often known by is Sacrifice..."
PostPosted: Mon Feb 04, 2008 6:55 pm

He was a bit taken back by her domain being 'Sacrifice'. Anyone would. When one thinks of Sacrifice, one would think losing something for something else. To give up or forfeit. He didn't like the idea himself, well in teh sense of sacrificing himself for another, but if the situation called for it, he would have to. it was part of his code. He calmed down a little and looked at her again.

"Sacrifice... huh?"

Not having much else to say he questioned himself of licking her clean of water...

"Hmm...."

She wasn't surprised by that reaction, most mortals responded in such a way when they learned of her domain. Even Limbuko, another god himself, had commented on how unfortunate it was, but truly she didn't see it that way, and she shared this knowledge now with Ezekiel.

"Do not think so poorly of sacrifice. It takes great strength to show such selflessness, and you'd be privileged to know such a soul. There are also many lesser forms of sacrifice in this world. The sacrifice that a single mother makes to raise her young, giving up the first choice of your first kill to feed the elderly or the sick in your pride... the offerings of food and herbs to other gods, or even something as simple as giving your well wishes to another instead of yourself. Not all sacrifice pays such a heavy price as one life for another, but all are equally precious. I keep all of these, and I see to it that those that make a sacrifice in hearnest get what they bargained for, whenever it's in my power to do so."

She didn't scold, and the whole time she spoke she did so softly. She really had come to believe in the duties she'd sworn to keep in her mortal days.
