I'm just curious for the most part. Anything really can be discussed. Are you stationed CONUS or overseas, which do you prefer and why? where would you like to be? etc. etc.
I myself am stationed in Spangdahlem AB, Germany. I've been to three different CONUS bases before (Lackland, TX, Keesler, MS, Luke, AZ), but this is my first duty station. I love it here. The only thing I like about being CONUS rather than overseas is the fact that there is Walmart in the states. Besides that, I'm all set. If I have it my way, I'd rather be stationed in either Misawa, Japan, or Kadena, Okinawa. I'm perfectly happy with Germany though.

CONUS = Continental United States
OCONUS = Outside the Continental United States
I'd rather be OCONUS (and I will be soon enough) because I love to experience different cultures. And so that I may put my language skills to use.

I've spent most of my enlistment in CONUS. The only time I've really ever spent much time outside the states was on the USS Boxer and in Iraq. I prefer overseas. Being away from what you know and love sucks, sure. But being around different cultures is a great time.

You know what's surprising? Halfway up BC you can see the Northern lights when it's clear. *has seen them from PG) 'Course they're not as clear or bright but you can still see them.
