He knew that the other day he had alarmed his best friend. They had merely been talking when she spoke of his wings, and he had immediatly give her the cold shoulder. The stallion didn't even think about it before he did it. Pink colored eyes stared down at his reflection in the lake, disgusted with himself. The lake reflected him for what he was. It did not lie to him, tell him what he wasn't. It mirrored an image of a large, dark red stallion that bore the taint of his blood - Kalona wings.
Belial had heard stories from his parents about the lunatic his grandmother was. She was one of the first great Kalonas, abeit a complete nut. Kalonas were evil... Did that make him so? His father was a grounded and his mother was a hybrid of Wind and Kalona... He always di think of himself as different, since his brother was like his father and his sister like his mother. It was always a very awkward arrangement. At least it was to the confused stallion.
Belial snorted, putting a hoof into the water to distort the image he did not want to see. He kept his eyes on the ripples of water, a sigh of relief passing his lips when he found that his reflction was now unrecognizable. He folded his wings tightly to his back, and when he pulled his hoof out, he saw what he wanted to see. Nothing "evil" about his appearance. Nothing to scare others off.

Belial, too entranced in his reflection, did not hear the Unikalona nearby. He did however sense the presence of somebody, and thus lifted his head from the water and backed away from chilly lake. He flexed his Kalona wings to release the tension, but was quick to refold them. If somebody was coming, he did not want to potentially scare them away.
He spoke quietly at first, looking around through his thick, black bangs, "Hello?" The crimson stallion called, pink eyes flickering about. It was fine if they didn't hear him, or didn't even come. Though it would be comforting to get his min off of his internal dilemma. It got quite bothersome, to obsess over it.
