I was once served a salad that contained cauliflower, bananas and parsley, and despite the oddity of that combo, it tasted just fine. I tried looking up the recipe and came across

which scientifically matches foods. LOL.

I have had a salad similar to the one you described. I thought it would taste nasty, but it wasn't too bad...except it had mayo, which didn't really go with the rest of the stuff, but it could have been worse I guess. I already knew before I scanned through that artical that when you say something tastes good you are mostly talking about the smell, but I still think that is kind of strange that you can mix those random things and make it taste good...or smell good...or both! mrgreen

Um... French fries go well with ice cream... although I've heard other people say that too, so it may be old news by now.

Most of those food pairings seem very strange. I'm almost tempted to try the salmon and licorice though.

I've heard that a bacon cheeseburger with peanut butter was delicious. Some radio talk show was taking weird food pairings from callers and trying them, and that was the only one I heard. But they said it tasted really good. I have yet to try it, though...
