There's Nothing like a trail Of Blood...
I'm a flute and I'm first chair *Everyone Clap Clap* But lately my tone has been slowly getting worser and worser And the thrid chair is getting a better tone than ME! So I'll never give up my seat! So is there any techniques or other stuff that helps you get a better tone.!.!.

maybe you've been trying too hard. just quit playing for a couple days and your tone might come back. if that doesn't work, then consider getting a new flute. third chair in our band got a new flute and everyone says her tone quality is so good that she's gonna pass up second chair.

1) Make sure your flute is properly adjusted
2) tune yourself
3) Don't blow too hard into your instrument
4) Sit up straight and make sure your getting enough air
5) look over your instrument. You might have sticking keys or a lose screw or something
6) If you have braces that could be the cause....

G [my band director] tells us to center our air going over the mouth piece....always keep your flute level and sit up strait

Try whistle tones to make sure that your airflow is directed properly, and also try doing lots of long-tone exercises. You might just be playing too much though, try giving yourself a break for a few days.
