One Door shuts and another creaks open
One Dream lost as next one begins
One Hand slips away as a new one grasps on
One Soul gone as the other starts its walk
I chose the madness that I dwell
The maelstrom of voices swirling around
Some haunting shrieks others gentle whispers
All get my love and prayers as the journey continues
Am I any different than the beggar on the corner
The one with his hand out for scraps
Or the Aristocrat that dwells in their mansion
Hiding from a society deemed beneath their feet
Should my emotions go cold and heart cake with ice
I'll accept such comparison with tempered despair
Until that day rises, my fight battles on
And no rock nor island shall this body become
