~+And As We Lie In Ruin+~ +1+ Introduction/Story +2+Characters and profiles +3+guidlines ~~~~~~~~~~~~Story~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our world is at war, and among the increasing rate of poverty and starvation, the population of man is dwindling to very few. the female populas has become virtualy non-exsistant, but men are just nearly as scarce.
Cities have become nothing but ruined piles of debris, and towns have been wiped off the face of the planet.
However, that is the condition of man. Non-humans, those who had been in hiding so long for fear of destruction from man, have emerged, and now roam where man once ruled.
Even so, those beasts which man besieged so long ago, even though it is a tiny, tiny ammount, are setting aside their differences, and helping the few humans left to survive.
Such behavior, though, is forbbiden in msot species, as the leaders of clans are still bitter to humans. despite such things being forbbiden, there are indeed still those who venture to aid the humans, and even those who dare to love them.
This is their story.

~+And As We Lie In Ruin+~ +1+Introduction/Story +2+Characters and profiles +3+guidlines Humans+1+ c e r a - f i n n Name: Harlem Lynn Age: 19 Race: Human Sexuality: Gay - Seke (tends to seme) Bio: Harlem had parents until 9 years ago, when the ravages of the world finally took them away from him. As such, Harlem was forced to grow up after being so protected from the world. But Harlem worked with what was left to him the best he could. He became a fighter and a cruel young man. Unfortunately, an accident 3 years ago ended the cruel Harlem Lynn. His brain was damaged and now he's regressed to no more than a helpless child. He often carries with him a teddy from his parents and there are some times when his original nature surfaces. +2+Kujata Sylver Name : Terra Age : 16 Race : Human Sexuality : Gay - Uke Bio : Terra was raised on the harsh and cold streets. He never had a family, and never had anyone to help him along. Most people would assume that this would make him callous, but it hasn't. He's made a shelter in the slums for others like himself and he has a small group that act are thieves. But due to the war, they're now mostly pilferers than actual thieves. He's the "leader" of their group though he isn't the oldest in his gang. +3+ Eru_Roraito_1131 Name: Hawk armaia Age: 20 race: Human Orientation: gay/uke Info: Hawk is a sweet little bellydancer whose parents abandoned him at the age of 12 because of his strange appearence, thinking he was soesort of inhuman creature, when in fact his hair and eyes were the resaultof toxins forming in the air as the war began, along with his mother doing drugs while pregnant. His only real possesions are his jewlery, which he keeps on at all times to prevent being stolen, as they are the most expensive things he owns, however that isn't the reason he keeps them. they were a present from his(now desceaced) lover, who was in the war effort, the jewlery mailed to him from a far away country. he gets very angry if someone he doens't know tries to touch them. Personality: Very sweet and caring, and very light hearted despite all that's happened round and to him. he's extremely happy fr someone who lives by himself near the coast, where he often takes swims. is easy brought to tears, even if he is happy most of the time, hit the right chord and he bursts into tears. Other: takes his jewlery off ONLY to swim, and often hides it someplace to do so. very good swimmer, and also and EXTREMELY talented dancer, and will stand up on the cliff overanging the sea to dance for the water and the creatures in it. he bears no hatred for non-humans what-so-ever. Appearence: +4+ +5+ +6+ +7+ +8+ Non-humans+1+OdysseyFaine Name: Gemini (Scelus) Age: 72 Race: Naga Sexuality: Omni-sexual - Seke - Hermaphrodite Bio: Gemini was born in one of the last remaining tracts of tropical Rainforest lieft of the planet, but eventually it was clear cut for the humans uses. Forced to move to the coast the naga lived among the coastal mer-creatures and the such for most of his young life. Though he never forgot where his roots lied. He thought it wrong that the humans destroyed his home, he hated the humans for what they did. And unfortunately for the humans, as their fall became more and more apparent, Gemini without knowing it became a terrible nightmare to any that remained close to the coast. Gemini suffers from schizophrenic split-personality disorder. Which means that often when the naga loses control of himself - emotionally, physically or otherwise - his dangerous, murderous, crazed alter-ego takes over and often rampages unsuspecting villages in the dark of night. However, when he wakes up and sees his bloodied hands curses to his Gods for making him submit to the sins he commits during the night. Other: Because there is hardly a trace of Rainforest land left, the Naga race has become nearly extinct. So to see one even in this age where the non-humans now reign is a rare and special sight as they continue to live in seclusion from the rest of the world. Also, because their numbers have dwindled, the species has become widely hermaphroditic, so that the chances of reproducing will increase. +2+ Kujata Sylver Name : Truance Vehim Age : 258 Race : Ethareal (Angel) Sexuality : Gay - Seke Bio : Truance Vehim's life wasn't as dark and perverted as many nonhumans were. He was seen as an Angel, something to be marveled at. He still was never able to walk freely in the daylight until recently. He neither hates the humans, nor does he wish for their absolute redemption for what the humans have done to other races. He knows they are not all evil and he will not get caught up in this petty war. +3+ c e r a - f i n n (profile not uploaded yet) Name: Nine Age: 153 Race: Arctic Wolf Sexuality: Gay - Uke Bio: The ninth male in his pack and so named Nine. He was never given a proper name and never bothered with choosing one since he left the Arctic. It has been years since Nine was part of a pack--his own having all died near the beginning of the war. Nine mistrusts all humans, blaming them his pack's death. +4+ Eru_Roraito_1131 Name: Scylla Age: 78 race: very rare, old type of bird called scylla. Orientation: Gay/Seme Info: Scylla, who never actualy got a real name, uses te name of his species as his own. if one were to actualy turn his race to look ke a bird, they would look much like massive ravens, but with soft red at the tip of their wings and tails, as the species is infused with fire. Scylla has lived most of his life alone, and has never really cared for humans until the war started, which brought his attention to the nasty sides of them, but then also the innocent side. he is determined to save the ones he believes are innocent. Personality: rather quiet, and almost always calm. he has an interesting air about him, and refuses to ever bring his wings in so they are unseen, because he is not ashamed of what he is and will gladly let any human see him, and will attack if threatened. he becomes very determined if he sets his mind to something. ~+And As We Lie In Ruin+~ +1+ Introduction/Story +2+Characters and profiles +3+guidlines there will be allowed eight humans, and eight Non-humans, however, try to stay away from Neko or Kitsune type. I'm sorry about this rule, but i get annoyed with that being the only non-human breed people can thing of. I will allow one of each, but after that, i have the right to tell you to change the species.
Please colorcode your characters, so we know who is speaking in case you're playing two, which you are allowed to do.
lets try to get a good selection of both, okay? i don't wan't like... 7 non-humans and one human. I'll be playing one of both, so don't worry.
if you feel the need to get explicit, head over to PM or IM, please, then come back when you're done.
give us some of both positions, as well, please. everyone seems to favor Uke, however we need both, and i have the right to say please be a seme if we already have to many uke, okay? please don't get upset if i tell you no.
those are my rules! please follow them, to make everyone happy. if you have questions for me about how this will work, please, don't hesitate to ask! i'd be glad to answer them!
go ahead and post your profiles right on this page, they'll go into the actual role play characters post when i get it set up.

(I suppose I'll do the first post then blaugh )
Terra sighed, plopping down onto some old cushions that served as his bed. There are too many of us now... and with food as scarce as it is... he thought, being interrupted by his empty belly. This town is practically barren now... except for the non-humans.... maybe we can find one nice enough to give us food. That'd be great! Well... unless they hated our kind... which I can't really blame them for....
Truance, on the other hand, was far more lucky. He shrugged out of his clothing to get dressed for a party one of his comrades were holding. He was a high noble, as most of his kind were, but this life was rather boring. "A moment more and I will be finished," he said to a butler who was trying to hurry him along. The human's era of rule was over, so he finally had a comfortable home and the help he needed. His butler helped him get a new shirt on, since his wings were hard to slip into clothing. He then quickly got dressed to hurry to the party he didnt' even with to attend.

A young male headed from the tiny hut of a home and stretched in the coolness of the breeze, wearing nothing but a small skirt-like artical made of sewn together strips of virtualy see-through cloth, however he didn't seem to mind, the bits blowing gently against his legs, thin and pale, so much so he almost glowed. his jewlery twinkled gently in the morning sun, rising up and shining brighter fofr him than most humans, for he was actualy quite content and happy in the small home he'd made all by himself on the coastline. he had food, plenty of it, from the forest and the water, and he entertained himself easily. at the moment, he was going to go dance for the waves and the fish, so in return he coulld gain a meal possibly. he drew his shimering hair into a pony tail and smiled, golden eyes gleaming to rival the sun's brightness. he took a breath fo the sweet air around him and hurried to the cliff-side to dance, his body movements swift and agile, and fluid as well, like the waters he danced before. his arms swayed gently in rythem with the sweet tide, a smile on his pretty face.
Meanwhile, as the boy had his fun, another flew into one of the more decrepid cities, wings folding and resting against his back, black as night and tipped with a red that seemed to have been burned there straight by the fire inside the man's bones, and those large wings were easily supported by a strong back, well-built and toned nicely, his arms shown off a bit. his hair swayed gently, like silk against his face and neck, as black as is wings. his eyes were a very dark, bloo-red, pearing out from beneit the locks of hair. he called int the town, it's houses raided and some burned t the ground. he doubted anyone still lived there, however he always checked each home, just in casesomeone needed his help, as he could easily provide food for the poor humans, or at least teach them means of aquiring it themselves for when he had to move on o the next needy town or demolished city. once more, he called: "is anyone here still alive!" and strode through the streets, looking into windows and pearing through doors that had been torn off their hinges, hanging and swaying in the wind.

Terra, as well as some of his men, if you could call them that, heard the hollar. He was the first one to make it out of the hole in the ground that served as their hide-away. "Yes!" he said, trying to call back, but his voice only came out hoarse and unused. He swallowed hard and continued again. "Yes, there are people here!" He couldn't believe this, maybe they had come to save him and his friends, how wonderful that would be!
Truance finished getting prepared and walked to the overly abundant home that the host had prepared. This is too much... he thought with a frown. It really was too much though. there was far more food than they needed, and most of it would probably go to the livestock or even just thrown away. He might not have liked the idea of helping the humans, but they didn't deserve to die from starvation.

the creature turned to the voice and trodd twords it, his keen sense of hearing making it much easier for him to find the caller."are you human?" he asked, his wings fluttering faintly.

Things had been for the most part quiet along this part of the coast for a little over a year, but as of late, there has been something slightly off. A human, has migrated freely to the coast and has been living there for some time now. So far he had not shown any signs of aggression and the sea creatures, particularly the mer people have seemed to grow quite fond of him. However, they were seen as fools for trusting the human creature, in the red and yellow eyes of the naga who watched day after day in the thick, shadowy canopy of the coastal forest.
Gemini dared not go near the human, for he feared him, despite his apparently docile nature. And because it was already near sunset and the human had just begun his dance, he would have to wait even longer than usual to get to the water to hunt. He wouldn't risk being seen by the human if he could help it, however he was not sure how long that could last when they lived in such close proximity to one another...
He would wait as always until well after dark to do his hunting.

the human, barely past a child in his mindset, sat to rest after he had exhausted himself with his movements, looking at the glorious twilight as it gave rise to the fall of the sun, and the birth of the moon. he sat on the edge of the cliff, his feet dangling off and the spray from the ocean lapping his toes gently, a soft giggle rising from his throat. he adored the water, however it had not been as kind to him as it had been, the small fish he'd caught in bundles often seemed to have scattered, and he was wearing thin without them for food. "do you dislike me now, Ocean? have you become bored with my dance?" he called gently, as if the water would answer him, a smile on his face, even though his eyes showed sadness."the fish have gone away, it seems, are they bored? will you ask them for me? i'm afraid i don't speak their language as you do. but then, how do i know that i even speak yours?" he asked the waves as they appeared to be increasing slightly in number and in power"a storm?" he tilted his head lightly, looking out at the sky, the wind as well as the waves blowing more roughly than before, lashing his skin with sand.

Nine left the Arctic weeks ago. Not willingly but he had to. What once had been welcoming white tundra and prey enough for the lonely wolf had dwindled because of the humans that hunted in his territory. Nine hid his presence in the beautiful wasteland best he could, taking refuge in the caves his pack once used as a litter den. It was painful to visit such places with the memory of his pack's death ever close at hand, but instinct drove him to survive. He had lived over one hundred years intact and no human had ever dared come so far away from their cities.
Nine had been wrong. The humans passed by the litter den many times, one wearing what looked to be the pelt of Alpha, the pack leader and Nine's blood brother. Anger rose in Nine had he'd done something foolish because of the desire for vengence. He'd hunted and killed the human male wearing his brother's pelt. Unfortunately, the other humans with the male came far to quickly after the male's death and chased Nine across the tundra. The wolf received a gash along his side before he escaped through the ice flow.
The ice flow took him away from the Arctic to the sea and the small piece of ice Nine had clung to melted to nothing. The wound he sustained wasn't particularly serious but the blood loss made it hard for him to maintain consciousness and it was only a matter of time before he joined the rest of his pack in death. What he didn't expect was for the ocean to take his unconscious body along the coast and spit him out on a beach far from the Arctic and at the feet of a human, just before the edge of a storm.
Harlem hadn't been sleeping well. The people living around him were giving nightmares and it was hard to sleep. Especially when one had the brain of a child, who were easily spooked by nightmares and such. He clutched his teddy close to his chest. The worn, patchwork teddy bear had been with Harlem all his life. Though it was well worn, he loved it. Harlem glanced away from his teddy and looked aroud him. He'd ran from his makeshift home and the boys that had been taking care of him because of the nightmares and he had no idea where he was. But the building around him were really pretty.
The boy paused outside one of the more ornate ones, eyes wide as he stared at the building. "Wow..."

(Is Harlem staying with Terra's people or, because of the ornate buildings, is it with Truance?)
"Yes..." Terra replied tentatively. He rounded the corner and saw the... beast... if you could call him even that. Terra did all that he could to keep his jaw locked in place. Those wings were far more beautiful than anything he had ever seen but they were also the things of nightmares.

Truance, now finally ready for the party he didn't even wish to attend, came out of his large manor. With such great weather, he decided to walk, rather than take a carriage. He stretched, reveling in the cool dusk air.

the young creature stepped tword him"are you hungry? i've come to help" he stated simply, his voice low and soft, but strangely melodic."you have done nothing wron, is that correct?" he asked quickly, seeming to want to make sure"you were not helping in the war effort?"
The young human yelped as he saw the body of the poor creature on the beach, standing and rushing off to the sands and the waves' edge, kneeling beside the other and gently pulling him from the water"oh, my! you poor thing!" he whimpered softly, having trouble lifting him, being careful of the wound, hoisting him up and half-dragged, half carried him to the gras, laying hm down on his back. he hurried to the small hut and gathered towels, kneeling back down beside him and gently drying his hair and face, not seeming to mind the extra appendages on his head. he gently touched his face and pat him, trying to wake him up, his fingers warm and very soft."wake up, you're safe now.... you're alright" he whispered, not wanting to startle him when he woke, so he was very gentle.

Terra blinked at him, he knew he needed to give a response quickly... but his mouth just wasn't working. "Um..." was all that he could manage to say at the moment. He shook his head and forced some other words to get out of his mouth. "No... we're not 'elping the war effort. And yeah... we're very hungry. There's alot a'us takin' shelter in one a'the old bombshelters, but we ran outta food a week or two ago."
