First of all, don't be intimidated by all this information. It really isn't so difficult--once you pick what kind of magic you'd like to use (up to three kinds), you just pick how it's equipped, and what Essence each equipped item can retrieve!
Technology:
No one goes anywhere without their Technology, if they own any/and or can use it. They can be equipped as follows:
Battle Magic: (Used as weapons) Gauntlet, Belt, Helm
Defense Magic: (Used as armor, or other defenses) Gauntlet, Belt, Helm, Shoulder Armor
Healing: (...For healing. XD) Gauntlet, Anklet, Belt, Bracelet, Tiara, Pocket-watch
Manufacture: (To build everything from walls and houses to grandfather clocks) Gauntlet, Pocket-watch, Belt
Artistic: (To write, paint, or otherwise creatively express) Gauntlet, Belt, Pocket-watch, Tiara, Anklet
Identification: (See ID magic forms below) Glasses, Goggles, Gauntlet, Pocket-watch
Identification magic comes in three forms, each more expensive than the last:
Mild: Can identify Animal, Plant, and most forms of Stone.
Medium: Can identify Animal, Plant, Metal, and Plastics.
Complete: Can identify almost every form of the areas of Essence, though anything undiscovered won't be in the database. New forms of Essence can be entered into the device, updating all devices of the Complete level.
Essence
All items can draw Essence from the wearer, but it drains an immense amount of energy to do so, and has been known to kill the unwary or reckless.
Stone: All forms of stone and raw minerals
Metal: All forms of metal and raw ore
Liquid: All forms of liquid not falling under any other category
Plastics: All forms of man-made items (including plastics, nylons, etc.)
Animal: All forms of life, excluding plants.
Plant: All forms of plant life.
Disease: All forms of virus, bacteria, and disease causing pathogen (usually only used in healing, though sometimes in battle)
