** I'm posting this here, because the Elder forum is almost never checked by the mods/captains and when it is, it's only every few weeks. Plus I thought it'd be fun for everyone to join it so we can get more ideas **
The guild has been a little boring lately, with everyone just coming in every day or so to add a one liner to the already existing threads. Don't get me wrong, some of them are fun (e.g. the word game threads I find a lot of fun), but I wanted to hear all your ideas about something we could do with the guild.
By that I mean competitions (if so, what kind?), banner/graphic making challenges for the guild, charity events, meet ups (i.e. in the Towns or in Gaia cinemas), publicity stunts for more members (by this I mean creating a cool thread outside of the guild to draw in new members), opening a new RP hang out here (i.e. a cafe or bar or whatever)...
These are just some ideas. Can you think of more? Can you expand on any? Let me know your thoughts and ideas for what would make the guild a more fun place for you.

I like the banner makng one. But, not everyone has photoshop or a photo editing software.

Umm i have an idea for a banner......show a gaian human face (male or female doesn't matter to me) and have it fade into a vampire which fades into "Vampires of Gaia"

All of those are good Ideas and we have done a banner competition in the past. So I am trying to make ideas i have been busy on a different site so I do apologize to you all for my lack of a better word lack of activity.

From what I saw from the banner competition (I joined while it was going on or soon after it finished, so I didn't participate) there were some really great entries. I got to see them all when I rounded them up and put them into the "Welcome" thread. We already have loads of them, but maybe we could have another design competition of some kind, to spruce up the guild even MORE.
I had a weird thought just now, too... what about a silly pageant like "Gaia's Next Top Vampire"?
Just had another weird thought: what about a Vampire calendar? One member for each month. They could be, like, desktop backgrounds or a smallish banner of the month put into people's signatures with a link to the guild or something like that...?

Just had another weird thought: what about a Vampire calendar? One member for each month. But how about this? Whoever won this, will automatically get their avatars to appears on the guild's Homepage. We'll do this every 2 months or so. "Vampire calendar" - Well, no. We don't want the parent get spooked out about the evil vampire calendar. Not only that, some vampires just look like plain original race. "Banner Competition" - It'll work. I can see some potential that we could do this every month (Or 2) to replace our old one. "Art Competition" - Yeah, an idea. Basically, who ever won this competition get to have their picture included on the Homepage. And so on...

About the gaia'stop vampire thing... didn't we have somthing like that for the mods or something and it didn't work out that well because no one wanted to state their opinion? isn't that the same?
unless u plan something totally different than ignore the above remark.
I personally like the meeting in town idea, for some reason it's funner to talk there than it is just posting in the guild.
and the rpg bar thing, i like the idea of the rp but that last one didn't last that long i think because it didn't actually have a story going with it, so we can get different story rp ideas from the members, pick one and go with that.

The only different is that we're not planning to use the staff this time. Since the members are likely to feel that the staff may be abusive when they haven't won (example: me.), they won't vote. Now if we do this for all regular members, it would be fair then, right?

I hadn't thought of not including mods... can we get enough regular members to participate without crew involvement??
Raven, it's NOT a popularity contest. I was thinking more like it would test each contestant on skills relating to Vampires in some way, e.g. a short story competition (of course about Vampires), some kind of graphic competition, a TekTek competition... that kind of thing. Nothing really, really hard and it will be judged on talent in certain areas but that won't be taken EXTREMELY to heart... just as long as the contestants try hard.
And to make it fair, I was thinking that each voting for the elimination (for someone to leave the competition) would be conducted by a new thread with a poll. People could see that weeks' work and decide who was the weakest.
It's not something to be taken really seriously or anything, and I highly doubt people are going to cry over it if they get eliminated... and we don't even know what the prize is yet. I'm just reminding you all not to get worked up about it or worried... it's not a huge deal and it's not going to end in tears ^_^

Hm.. I'm not quite sure where I saw the thread, but it said something about a town meet up of the guild. It's not exactly an activity, but it's something to do and easier/faster access than the guild. A Guild hang outtt. woo.

Hi, I just joined and have lurked a bit. I have an idea...
VAMPIRE CLANS
I think the Captain and Vice-Captain and Crew should divvy up the various lands of Gaia as their vampire territories.
For instance...
Captain = Vampire King of Darkness (or something diabolical sounding)
Vice-Captains = Vampire Prince/ess of Barton, Gambino, Durem, Aekea
Leftover Vice-Captains and Crew could be "Vampire Lords/Ladies" of Clans which have dominion over some Gaian location like a shop or something. Clan names could be whatever Crew thought sounded cool and wouldn't have anything to do with area of dominion, so say, Lord of Bass'ken Lake could pick clan name of "Von Fanghoffen" or something, lol.
Then guild members could declare loyalty to one of the clans. So during events the clans could sort of act in cohesion... the the whole guild would also want to act in cohesion.
Clans could have banners so members could flaunt their affiliation maybe?
I dunno, might sound too complex to work and maybe not enough active members to really make it worth while? but just an idea and just sort of brainstorming hehe. smile
