While my sister and I were watching Scrubs today, one of the characters - who was a male - said his husband went off to some convention and won an award or something along those lines. When he said, "Husband." my sister gasped and murmured, "Oh my gosh.." I asked her what was wrong and she mumbled angerly, "He's gay.." I didn't understand so I asked again, "What?" Apparantly I had ticked her off and she sharply snapped back at me, "What do you mean by'What?'?!" We sat in silence after that.

I know at least 4 people who are either gay, bi-sexual, or leziban and it doesn't bother me at all. I love them - as friends of course - and I always will no matter what. I know it's against Christianity to be any of those but really.. What's the big deal? I thought God loved and forgived all, no matter what. And since when did the Bible say people couldn't be attarcted to either both sexes or just the same sex?

In Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, and Judiasism homosexuality is not a sin. The idea that it is is cultural, rising from misenturpretations of scripture.
Other religions consider homosexuality a sin, so it really is just perspective.
Not that someone's opinion could change heredity...

I just don't get why though? If it's not a sin in Christianity and other relgions then why make a big deal about it? Why hate all those people all because they're homosexual? Why make it illegal for homosexuals to get married?

I just don't understand is all. Are they pointing all the hatered they're not suppose to feel towards people who are different? Are they simply jealous that someone isn't interested in them?

I suspect it is because of fear.
Homosexuality is something that few people understand. When people don't understand something considered "unnatural" they tend to fear it.
Fear leads to hate which in turn leads to discrimination.

i have lots of gay/lesbian/bisexual friends and other than their sexual prefernce theyre no different to anyone else out there and so im like you i dont understand why people are so against it all and i dont think its a sin and i bet even primative humans had the same sort of sexuality choices as people today

Aye, fear and ignorence of differences is what prevents same-sex marriage and partner benefits from being passed through Congress and other governments. Violence against sexual minorities occurs when someone channels their anger into their prejudice.
Intolerence is not a pretty monster.

@Squish: Unfortunaly for the GLBTQ population, our guild didn't decide what is a sin in religions. If we did then the general population would have one less prejudice to being into government, even though they're supposed to leave their opinions outside the conference room.
Alas! If we had a time machine...might be able to do something.

I just fail to see why. People act like they love and care for all - like my sister - but when you give them a gay, leziban, or bi sexual person they turn away.
I'd bet they'd be surprise if all of those people came out admitted their homosexuality together. I don't know how many it would be, but surely enough to make people like my sister left speechless.

Perhaps, but they'd still be a minority.

And don't even get me started on religion and it's flaws. biggrin

About 90% of humans are heterosexual, about 10% are homosexual and bisexual. So 10% of six billion is probably enough to show her it's natural. If not, goodsearch "bonobo"...that ought to change anyone's mind. o.0;

Lmao, I'll bet it would.
Those monkeys seem to really take "make love not war" seriously.

Be an example to your men,
in your duty and in private life. Never spare yourself,
and let the troops see that you don't in your endurance
of fatigue and privation.

Watching two girls make out doesn't really turn me on, and the thought of taking it up the tailpipe makes me want to vomit so I don't really "approve" of the idea of homosexuality. At the same time Christianity teaches us to love each other so I don't feel any hatred towards them either. I just see it as a lifestyle choice no different from someone choosing a religion or being a sports freak or a computer geek or being a democrat. They're just as human as I am so theres no reason to let that single detail cause problems.

Always be tactful and well-mannered and teach your
subordinates to do the same. Avoid excessive
sharpness or harshness of voice, which usually
indicates the man who has shortcomings of his own to hide.

If God put on this world to simply make babies then I'm sure he's proud because our populations are reaching to the billions. I can only imagine how big his smile is - if he's smiling anyway.
