I don't have a very feminine body or face. I'm always worried that when I dress in lolita, I look odd. because I'm trying to pull off wearing these beautiful, girl clothes. I'm afraid that I will look like a cross dresser. Whenever I dress lolita, I'm always concerned about my legs. They're also very "manly." I have big fatty thighs, thick muscular calves and tiny bony ankles. They have such a bad shape and I feel self conscious while in a skirt. Are there any others who have this concern? Or is it really not a big deal? Is there anyway I can make my legs more elegant and, inevitably, more to the mold of a lolita. Also, my face is not very elegant. I have a very short neck, which adds to the masculinity. My face is either round of oval- I can't tell anymore. I have the typical jaw of a round faced person, but I have no prominent cheekbones. My hair in in very bad shape right now. I haven't been able to go to my regular hairdresser, so I had to resort to getting it cut at haircuttery Dx Anyway, it's long enough to cut now and I figured I could cut it to make it look like casual lolita- one which fits my face shape but still makes me look more feminine, if possible. and here are some cuts that I was thinking of. But other suggestions are welcome, of course. I'd really appreciate any help : D - - - - - EDIT[02.04.08]: I cut my hair yesterday on post 4 EDIT2[02.22.08]: posted pics of my new hair on post 9

i think you look lovely, alas i have the same problem you do about the thighs. What i did was i stopped eating beef and lost a bit of weight, now just need to work on kicking chicken.
your facial features are very cute so i dont understand why you want to change them. Your very elegant with how your face looks, i think you should keep the length at which your bangs/side whispies are at thought, they seem to frame your face well.

Usually wearing stockings kind of takes the attention away from your legs, if you're really concerned about it like that. So you should avoid some knee-highs and any kind of sock that's shorter than knee-length.
I don't think cutting your hair would do any justice to your face, but I think you have a very beautiful face. You just need to figure out how to put your hair into nice styles the way it is now, rather than cut it and possibly royally-screwing yourself over and having to wait for it to grow back.

Thanks for the suggestions =) It think it's funny that both of you suggested to keep my hair the way it is- a lot of people who know me irl say that I look much better with shorer hair. Yesterday, I just got to tired of my hair. Even though you both advised me to wait and that my hair suited me well enough already, I cut my own bangs. Sorry about the bad pic. Its the only one my camera managed to take before dying again. Dx Anyway, Since I took the picture, I shortened them a bit and made them more even. I didn't like them at first- I dunno how they make my face shape look or if they make me look old- instead of younger. My sister and friends say they like them, so I decided to deal with them for now instead of pinning them back. But I'm still unsure about them. Are they hime enough? Also, the length of the rest of my hair is bothering me. I'm not sure whether it would be better to cut it to around my chin or to leave it longer and just layer it.

The cut looks nice on you. But again, experiment with different hairstyles, and see what looks good on you. :3

Do you happen to have a bigger photo of that last hairstyle on your first post? I'm also getting my hair cut soon and I think that style looks adorable, but the picture is kind of small, which makes it hard to tell what the back looks like.

Thank you Amanikitty, NeverMoreBlue and Illusen for the comments and suggestions >w< but, I ended up cutting my all hair about two weeks ago. It's my 'normal' length now- just above my chin with a lighter fringe. I think it's cute and I love it. For those of you that are curious, (lol ignore the random lock of hair sticking up in the back) It doesn't scream lolita, but it's still cute and works with my face, so I'm happy<3. Chibichew; I do like that cut a lot myself. I had that style a few months ago actually. it is very cute.

You are very pretty! I don't know where the "masculine features" you're talking about are
To add length to your neck, make sure you always have good posture and look for necklines like small v-necks or are more oval, coming down in the front and avoid boat-neck like ones--they will make shoulders appear wider, also. And keeping a shorter style of hair to leave the neck exposed will help
I have a problem with my legs, too--I have knock knees D: in addition to covering up, I find that tall heels do wonders for the appearance of your legs. They make then look longer and thinner, and for me mask my knock knees a bit
I hope I was of help! <3
