Ok Just curious how many femail Trombone players we have here. I've been playing for 20 years now. Even tattooed my horn to my right arm (pink tat on avi is as close as I came to it). I have a great 24k gold neckless my grandma gave me for my sweet 16. It's the love of my life next to my dog Zoe. I played in the Brick Memorial Mustang HS Band under the direction of Karen Hedden back in the late 80's. That was in Bricktoen NJ. I also played in my HS Band in Westside HS in Anderson, SC. I went to Brevard College in Brevard, NC and majored in what else but Music education. Unfortunatly I wasn't ready for college at the time. Now that I am I can't afford it. Figures. I also Played with the Orange Jam Band in Clemson, SC. And last but not least I played with the Hampton Roads Metro Band in Va Beach, VA. Right now "Alan" (my trombone named after my first private instructor) is sittin in the closet for when I can find another band to play in. It's a 2 tone Getzen (tennor - no trigger/f attachment). Now that I gave my life story how about you. Tall me about yourselves.

Well..im not a female (sorry) but i am a fello trombonist ^_^ But..yea anyway.. About 5th grade i was really bored of those crappy knock-off flutes (the recorders you know we all hate em..)and so i asked if i could play a different insterment (because sence 4th i learned T-bone because its an under-appreaciated insterment and its awsome)and my music teach. agreed we needed more then Recoreders so i started tehn and upto 6th normaly thats when we start learning but sence i was ahead by..a couple of years i was moved up into the worst band of the 3 (which are all 7th-8th grade band)and i was eventaly moved into CB1 (middle band)and once i was in 7th i made Symphonic no prob and same as 8th grade..i protect my trombone cuz its my heart and soul(and its silver so it makes me feel different ^_^)and im the only tromboneist WITHOUT the F-attachment and i can still play as fast/faster then thoses with it cool ..so yea thats about it for now...

I'm a fellow trombonist, and lovin' it. I started in 5th grade, because I saw my brother played one in fifth grade, and got a sound off of it on the first try. In 5th grade, I was the only one who could get the G on the first try, although I had trouble with the really low notes. I don't know why though. I just enjoy the sound of it, and it's unique in it's own way. It doesn't have valves or buttons, as all the other brass and woodwinds that we have in our school band. It's fun! Although I go up to my friend's trumpet and press the valves...Im tempted to press buttons...lol. I also play the flute, piano, electric and acoustic guitar, and I'm trying to learn the drums...

I've always loved seeing Other Females playing thie Male dominated Instrument. My HS Band director Ms. Hedden Was a Female Tromboneist and I looked up to her so much. She taught me more then any other teacher could.

I've been playing the trombone for 8 years. cool
And not because it's a male dominated instrument... it was just the first instrument I could make a sound with back in 5th grade, so it was the one I picked.
And I couldn't be happier with the way that turned out.

I am a female trombone player and I've played it since I was in third grade. I am also the Dark Lord of our section. (Section Leader/First chair) I love my bone. Once I went to a marching band competition and I was the only female trombone there. LOL. I'm also the only female trombone in the whole school and the only black player and the only player with a silver trombone. I take the cake of lonliness T-T.
