Introduction

There were 7 friends, and they all decided to go on a camping trip. They packed up their stuff, got in a their cars, and went. Everything was going well, until the thunderstorm hit. They crawled into the tents (which, as it happens, were now soaked through. Poor campers.) to wait out the storm.

When it was over, the group was in a foreign world. A man sat by the entrance to the largest of the tents, the one that had been shared by the girls. He informed them that they were in Seferous, and had been fused with six elemental powers: Light, Dark, Fire, Air, Water, and Earth. One became clairvoyant.

The bad news was, now that the dark element had been fused into somebody, the world of Seferous was in a lot of danger. The darkness had taken over the sixth friend, and he withdrew, leaving the other five. It was up to the remaining 6 to destroy the dark element...without sacrificing their friend.

Notes

The world of Seferous is sort of early 1800's. The villages are clean and they run well, but there's no technology. At all. That's it, you've got it! None.

The dark element can have up to two companions, because otherwise, he/she is alone until the other seven have caught up with him/her. One of the companions is male, the other female. They are not a part of the Rp until all six elements and the hyper-sensetive person are taken.

I'm going to be a b***h and say they have no money. Not from this world, anyway. All they've got is the stuff they brought with them into the tents when the storm hit. And, in adition to that, any clothes they had brought inside, apart from what they were wearing, have transfered into those of the era. I'm going to be nice and say that they arrived in four cars, which are now horses. One was taken by the host of the dark element, leaving three.

They have a weapon, that fits with their element. Along with the weapons, your powers, too, can be used as a weapon.

Their tents are on a hill over-looking a small town/village-type thing. It would be a good idea to start there. *hint, hint*

The group can pick up friends and'or helpers along the way, just like the friends fused with the dark element. Not too many though, just two or three.

Everything in the introduction has already happened. The seven friends are now on their way to look for their friend and stop the dark element.

- Please be literate. By 'literate,' I mean, please have sentances, punctuation, capitals when needed, that sort of thing. That also means, use "..." for a sentance, and NO ASTERIKS! These **
- No less than 2 sentences to your posts. I understand writers' block, and for me, literacy has nothing to do with post length, but you need to give people something to work off of.
- No godmoding, powerplaying, mary-sues/gary-stues, etc. No one's freaking perfect.
- Cybering is a no-no. Don't do it. I don't care what anyone else thinks, but I don't want to watch you people sex each other.
- You can swear, because lots of people do in real life. Just don't over do it. If you've got a swear word every second or third word, sorry, no.
- Please PM me your profile. I've even bolded it so it stands out. Title the PM 'Drunk on Character Name'.
- I don't care who plays what. Guys can play girls, and girls can play guys.
- One person has one element. You can't combine elements or add another one.
- The ToS and all guild rules apply. They go over any rule I create. Rawr.

Name: Gabriel "Gabe" Matthews
Age: 18
Element: Air
Weapon: Sling shot and a short sword with swirling carving in the blade (sort of a visual representation of wind)
Appearance: Gabe is not very tall, standing about 5'7". He has a respectable amount of muscle concealed in a slender frame, but he doesn't show it on a day-to-day basis. His hair is short, black, thick and soft, and would have a slight wave if he chose to grow it out. His eyebrows are very expressive, arching delicately over brilliant blue eyes. He has a very charming smile, and he's well aware of it, too.
Personality: A childhood full of bullying has left Gabriel as a very passive individual in most circles, though when he feels he is on level ground with others he is as active as anyone. Having only his father around for advice has given him a distorted view of how the female mind works, despite having an older sister, so he gets very shy and uncomfortable around girls, and has a tendency to freak out when a girl gets particularly friendly with him. Fear of exploitation (again, the bullying) makes him reluctant to let anyone into his past, so he quickly tries to change the subject or gives short replies when anyone asks.
Short Bio: Gabe grew up in a high-rise in Seattle with his father and older sister. His mother left when he was just five years old, so he doesn't have many memories of her, and little idea of maternal love. Other than that, Gabriel's was the normal childhood consisting of being a victim of elementary school bullying, adjusting to puberty through middle school, and trying to avoid being sucked into drugs, alcohol, and sex during high school. He wasn't so successful with sex, but he hasn't done anything since the once. As a senior in high school, Gabe is looking forward to starting life on his own, and finally being able to leave the past behind.
Other: He's bisexual. If there is too much sensory stimuli happening around him, he can't function effectively. He's allergic to cats.

Name: Mallechenne (Shey) Cobalt
Age: 18
Element: Earth
Weapon: She carries a two daggers, with vines engraved in them, a sling-shot, as well as her powers.
Appearance: Mallechenne stands at five feet five inches, and is of Japanese and Canadian descent. The only thing about her that's Asian is her eyes and hair; her eyes are big, a dark, dark brown, almost black, and tilt up at the ends. Her hair, which falls to her knees, is perfectly straight, and a shiny blue-black. Shey is not the type of person who shows emotions on her face; her expression is almost always serious; occasionally, you'll get a small smile, or her eyes will show what she's feeling, but it's very subtle. You have to know her well, and be watching for it.
Personality: Shey can be loud, belligerent, and generally anti social. Though often confrontational, she is a long way from self destructive or violent. In the last year she has become even more withdrawn, refusing to allow anybody in, building walls so high that she's not even sure she could break them down, even if she wanted to. In spite of the confident, take no prisoners attitude and persona that she portrays, there is no one that can say they know the real her. She refuses to ask for help, preferring to suffer than admit that she can't do it on her own. She believes that nothing comes for free in this world, and some would consider her paranoid, as she doesn't believe that anybody does anything unless they want something. In reality, she really does have a romantic and philosophical side, but no one is likely to see it, considering all the smoke and mirrors created as a result of her so called upbringing. Shey, if you could ever get past her defenses, is actually a sincere and caring person. She is becoming so detached from the world that she lives in that soon she may find herself lost on her own permanently. She knows that she needs to break the cycle if she wants to have a chance, but she doesn't know what to do anymore, and is too scared to take a chance on anything. Experience has taught her that it will only come back and bite her in the a**.
Short Bio: Shey grew up in a poor, broken home. Her dad left the family when she was twelve, claiming he never wanted a family, and they (her and her baby brother, age eight) were too much of a burden. Her mother blamed her, and turned to alcohol. Shey knows it's not her fault, but still, she's ashamed, which is why she chooses not to share her past with anyone, except for one or two people in her circle of friends.
Other: She's seriously afraid of hights and fire, and acts a bit weird when up high or around a flame. So far, she thinks no one's caught on about her fears.

Name: Jenna Tillane
Age: 17
Element: water
Weapon: arrows and an intricately carved bow (ivory colored with roses and vines carved and painted on it.)
Appearance: Being of Irish decent, Jenna's hair is shiny auburn down to her lower back and she has emerald green eyes. She's about 5'7" with a thin but strong build. Her eyes are large and expressive. Whatever she's feeling is easily reflected in them.
Personality: Jenna is a bit shy at first, but once she gets warmed up, she is very friendly and outgoing. She has a fiery Irish temper that is easily sparked, but can also be very gentle and kind. She tends to be a very nurturing, mother like person if she likes you.
Short Bio: Jenna's early childhood was very typical and happy. But her mother became very sick when Jenna was only ten years old. Because Mama was often too weak to take care of the house, Jenna and her little sister, so Jenna became Mama's helper. A few years later, when Mama died, Jenna took over her roll as best as she could. She carries around a deep sadness in her, but she usually keeps it hidden far down inside her.
Other: Because of her past, Jenna has become a great cook. She also loves art and music.

Element: Clairvoyance
Weapon: A white, intricately carved longbow, a quiver of variously equipped arrows (some poison, some stun, but most of them just plain sharp), and a dagger with a long, elegant blade.
Appearance: He’s not too tall, and not a midget; he’s not fat, but is by no means skinny. Cassius could be well-built if he applied himself and rose to his full potential physically, but he obviously doesn’t. He has course, thick, dark blonde hair, a sharp widow’s peak, and a high forehead. He has heavy eyebrows that cast a long, mask-like shadow over his eyes, which are a simple, unremarkable gray. He prefers to wear unobtrusive colors in his clothing, choosing to go about plain and bare rather than accessorize. However, he has a large tattoo splayed across his back in the shape of a black-inked raven, wings spread with the tips reaching his shoulders.
Personality: Quiet and unobtrusive, docile, and a love for pacifism soaking his outermost layer have labeled Cassius a coward in more than one occasion, when he would rather just plug into music than verbally or physically confront a challenge. Not much gets under his skin, simply because he’s seen how easily others’ can be penetrated and he’s learned how to deflect insults and most hurts with a shrug and a downcast look.
However, his passion and his thoughts on everything around him shine brightly whenever he steps onstage, either to sing or act. He carries around a well of hurt and betrayal that he taps into whenever the dramatic situation demands such, but he looks at life from an optimistic perspective in spite of the echoes that haunt him.
He’s very clever, and excellent at reading people. He sees through most of them at a glance, and given a couple of hours alone with a person, he could become their best friend simply because he’ll find a way to identify with them. He’ll only utilize this if invited, though, preferring to isolate himself rather than intrude—unless it’s someone he really cares about, and if he knows they’re getting into a rut that they won’t be able to get themselves back out of.
It takes a lot to piss him off, and equally as much to catch him off-guard.
Short Bio: Born and raised in the harsh ghetto of Manhattan, Cassius watched his single mother kill herself with a toaster in the bathtub shortly after having tried to kill his five-year-old brother, Mercutio (the father of the two boys was a literature scholar at the Manhattan University, therefore choosing eloquent Shakespearean names for his sons. He left without explanation and never came back after Mercutio’s first birthday) with a kitchen knife. Cassius was eight years old at the time. The quickly-hardened Cassius did the best he could to provide for the two of them, stealing food whenever people started getting nosy about his odd jobs. But it was only a matter of time when he turned to someone else for help—and unfortunately, the help in this case came from a local gang. To make matters worse, Cassius and Mercutio then endured molestation and, on rare occasions in Mercutio’s case, rape. A private attorney ended up finding out about the two boys’ treatment and whisked them away to a safe house. Ten-year-old Mercutio was picked up almost immediately by a family whose son had recently died, and Cassius ended up staying with the attorney, who moved shortly afterward to Portland, Oregon.
Cassius, rather than brood on all the bad that had happened, chose to view it as a new beginning, a rite of passage into adolescence, and enrolled in a private school. He met his six friends at the school, sharing only small bits and pieces to those of them who got close enough to ask, but never giving the whole story.
Other: He’s highly allergic to dogs, and deathly so to bee stings.

Appearance: Look at this !!
Lightly fit and of average build, Jessie is only slightly more initiative about appearance than Cassius. He has large, doe-like hazel eyes that give him the appearance of innocence—which, actually, isn’t hitting too far from home. He has feathery soft strawberry-blonde hair, not really cut in any particular way. He’s surprisingly short, too—5’6” tall. He loves to wear any of the threads seen on the latest mannequins, and usually has the money to pay for them.
Personality: What he lacks in size, Jessie more than compensates for in pure charisma. He was a late bloomer socially for several years up until eighth grade, but after the lawsuit was settled and his new financial ‘endowments’ discovered, popularity came naturally, people swarming around him. From this development also came an extreme boost of self esteem and confidence. No longer the quiet nerd in the back of the classroom, Jessie is now the life of any party. He somehow always manages to stay out of trouble with his peers as well as adults, which is surprising, because he’s learned that he can be reckless without answering for his actions.
He’s a very smooth talker, and can usually converse his way out of any situation. He’s never been tongue-tied in his life, and since his newfound popularity, he’s buried his ‘smarts’ so that they’re not so blindingly obtrusive, but by no means should that imply that he’s lost them.
HOWEVER. This was all before that stupid rainstorm that messed everything up. Although normally Jessie is very much the same in every way, he tends to get a little…different, per se, at night, and especially on nights of the new moon. He transforms into something cold and calculating, using the deadly combination of observation and deduction to complete the potential of the tactician always waiting inside. This ‘other’ Jessie has a nasty temper, too, if provoked. Beware.
Short Bio: Jessie lived the long, sad, unsocial elementary school life of an awkward, know-it-all nerd. Perfect scores in all his classes, often taken advantage of by his ‘friends,’ and no stranger to the cruelty of young girls.
Then, along came the Xbox 360. Being the avid gamer that he was, the early adolescent Jessie McCoy happily received the console—only to be enlightened of a particularly nasty glitch in the device. He notified the merchandiser of this and exchanged it in for a new one, but the cycle repeated itself with that new model, too. This process was repeated up until ten brand new 360 models yielded over and over the same result. Infuriated, Jessie saved up enough money by fundraising and badgering his parents to hire a lawyer. His attorney spoke to the Microsoft personnel, who provided only that “Jessie was obviously breaking all the models he received on purpose for reasons indisclosed.
Naturally, this didn’t go over well. The judge, however, had a son of his own. That son of his own happened to have an Xbox 360 of his own. And during the trial, the judge’s son’s Xbox became defunct.
Jessie received a full refund for all the Xboxes he had received (whether he’d paid for them or not), as well as enough money from the lawsuit to put him through twelve years of any university of his choice, and then some.
Well, naturally, once Jessie returned to regular junior high school life, that said life as he had known it before was gone. The image of pathetic little nerd boy was gone, replaced with instant popularity, as though he carried around a big glowing neon sign, “BABY GOT BANK!”
New ‘friends’ threw themselves at his feet, suffocating him with superficial love. He spent money on music, games, subwoofers, and—most importantly—a whole new Jessie McCoy. The shirts, the jeans, the converse, the hair gel, the accessories—all his now. He’s been in a giddy high ever since then, and he still has yet to hit the lows.
Other: He’s claustrophobic. Meaning he really doesn’t like the forest he’s stuck in.

Power guide


The power guide is what each person can do. Each element has set powers, that they can do straight off, but as the characters evolve, their powers become easier to use, and they can do more.

A strike will be placed through each ability that you DON'T have. As you get the powers, the strike will be removed. Simple.

I'll also add powers I think you should have, if and when I think of them (or you guys could PM me with a power that might fit for one of them), so you might want to check back here every once in a while, to see what I've changed, if anything. But of course, I will tell you when there's an update.







--- Light ---

- You have the ability to bend light into a shape. It can then become solid, but it will remain a bright, shimmery yellow colour.

- You can put light into an object, so it glows. This requires a great deal of practise and cencentraion.

- You can move light away, or towards an object, either illuminating or casting said object into darkness, rendering it invisible.

- You can change the colours of light, to make things look different than what they are.



--- Dark ---

- You have the ability to enter a person's soul, and darken it. It will eventually, depending on how much you darkness you inject, become an evil soul. If you don't inject enough darkness, then the soul will just be dishonest and hateful. You cannot, however, touch a pure soul, or you will be weakened.

- You have the ability to remove light, making the object you focus on invisible. You cannot, however, put the light back, or make certain areas or people seem brighter than they are.

- You have the ability to harden hearts. You can make a person distant, cold, and generally unfeeling. They become hard to work with, and will not co-operate with anyone but you.


--- Air ---

- You can move air. Wether you are creating a breeze, or making an invisible platform to take you somewhere, the air will do your bidding. Example: If it is raining, you can create a 'dome' over yourself, or an object of your choosing, and the rain will slide away as if there is an invisible bowl over the object.

- You can hear snatches, and even whole conversations on the wind. This requires intense consentration if you wish to hear anything more than a few words.

- You can see images of things that the air has touched. Example: You are inside a tall building, and the window is open. A breeze comes through, bringing you the image of a bout in a harbour, three miles away. This requires absolute concentraion, a clear, disceplined mind, and no distractions.

- You can create a vortex of wind around an object, sucking all oxygen out. If you hold this long enough, the object/person will lose conciousness, or, at times, die.

- You can remove or add heat to the air as you see fit.



--- Earth ---

- You have the ability to 'converse' with plants of anykind. You can understand what they want and/or need to survive, as well as feel any og their 'emotions,' such as excitement, pain, horror, and content.

- You have the knowledge of healing and poisonous plant life. You can take that knowledge and use it either for good or bad, healing or destruction, but you can't do this alone. You require assistance from either Air, Water, or both.

- You have the ability to awaken plants and have them do your bidding. Example: A plant is dead. You can call to it, give it water, and it will become animated. You need the help of the water element to do this.

- You can call on the life force of surrounding vegetation in order to heal something. The plant dies, and it will forever be out of your sphere of influence. The greater the healing, the more life forces you will need. You need the help of all other positive elements to do this, or you will die.



--- Fire ---

- You have natural resistance of fire. You can hold, walk through, or set yourself on fire. Only your clothes and any items on you will be burned away, if you do that. Your body will not be damaged.

- You can move flames from one place to another. Example: You can move all the flames in a housefire to the center of the building and contain them there, so no other houses will catch on fire. You require the help of Air and Earth to completely smother a fire that big, though. Anything smaller than a car, you can handle on your own.

- You can create fire from nothing. It does not have to be there already. What you do is concentrate on one point in exsistance, and it will heat until bursting into flame. You can heat it only enough to burn, if it is a metal. Anything else will flame.



--- Water ---

- You have the ability to take water (that is already there) and mold it into a shape of your choosing. Example: You are beside a lake. You scoop water into your hands and concentrate to form it into a ball.

- You have the ability to freeze water. You cannot, however, open your hand, and the water will be frozen. You have to form the water into teh shape you want, then force it to lose all warmth. You will rquire the help of Air to do this until you get better.

- You have the ability to 'see' into the water. You can see images of the present in large, still bodies of water, like a bath tub, perhaps. It cannot always be controlled.

- You cannot breathe under water. You can, however, shift the water and siphon(sp?) oxygen from it, to create a 'bubble' of pure oxygen around your head, while under water. This requires the help of Air, until you get better. Alot better.



--- Clairvoyant ---

- Basically, you have super-hieghtened senses. Right now, they are only an enhancement of what they were.

- You have a very developed sense of smell, a bit like a dogs'. You can pick up and follow trail, depending on how strong the scent, and how old.

- You can see things perfectly at great distances. Example: You can see perfectly a bee on a flower, from a kilometer You can also see as well in the dark as in the light.

- You have a very acute sense of taste. You can, for example, taste a storm coming from as soon as a day and a half in advance. You can also tell what kind of storm, like a lightening or rain storm.

- You have excellent hearing. You can determine what is a background noise and what is a dominating noise easily, and determine which is more important. Air's help is useful, as she can bring conversations on the wind.

- You're sense of touch goes deeper than the skin. You feel things on the inside, as well as the outside. Your emotions are stronger, and can rule you're mind at some times. You are more... sensetive than others.




Please understand that your characters will not be very good at any of the above, when they receive these gifts. You do not have automatic knowledge of your powers, or how to use them.
