Now that her cubs had grown a little bit, Layilme and her small family had started to move around again, if only short distances every day. Still, it was nice to be on the move, and not tied down to one place if they didn't choose to be. Even though the oasis where they had been living had been nice... Layil still liked to see new places.
And she was also enjoying showing more of the world to their two little ones.
Today, she'd left her mate to watch them for a while, as it was her turn to hunt for the family. She'd gotten distracted, though, by the sight of a single mountain peak rising out of the flat land up ahead.
Curious, she wandered closer, being careful...but wanting to see who or what might live in such a place. Even though the atmosphere around it was rather foreboding, there was a path leading up the side of the mountain... and after a few minutes, the blue-pelted lioness began to follow it upward, wondering what might be waiting at the top.

A great, golden figure appeared at the entrance to a large cave, half way up the mountain. It seemed to be the destination of the heavily worn path that crept up its side, leading many creatures to a single place and sending them forth once again.
The figure spread great wings, fanning them lightly before they were furled, smoothing the silouette into something more familiar. A lioness stood at the cave mouth, though she was like no lioness the world had ever seen. Brilliantly gold with prides upon her legs, what really stood out from her were the golden wings that lay smoothly along her sides, and the sheer amount of jewelry and other odds and ends that festooned every available inch of her person. She stood for a long moment, looking up at the sky, before she turned and disappeared back into the darkness of the cave she'd emerged from, taking her sparkling jewels with her.
It would seem that the cave was in habited, and by quite the unusual creater no less.

Layilme paused at the sudden appearance of the figure above, the dark-pelted lioness taking a step back at first. But she realized soon enough what it was she was seeing. Had to be a God up there... or more correctly, a Goddess.
Doubly curious now, and not really afraid - having met a God before, Layil started forward again, heading up the path.
Once at the top, though, she found herself slightly hesitant. Even though she wasn't truly afraid... might it not be a bit rude to just barge into someone else's home..? Ears flattening back just a bit, she kind of peeked around the edge of the cave opening ... eyes widening instantly at what little she could see just from here. Oh ... wow.

"Don't just stand there in the entrance, Girl. If you have buisness with me, the by all means, come inside."
The voice floated up from the dusky interior, disembodied but as strong as if the goddess herself had been standing not too far away. Seems she had seen the female making her way up the mountain and could probably see her even now as she stood at the opening of her cave.
The floor of the cave was littered with knick knacks, odds and ends, tossed seemingly haphazardly here and there when they were finished, but weren't yet needed to fulfill their purpose. At least there was a cleared space though, offering a safe place to walk in a broad path down the center leading towards the rear of the cave. Rustling and clanking came from there, announcing where the goddess was as she rifled through some of her things, looking for a specific piece she had made a while ago and just now remembered about it.

Layil jumped just slightly as the voice seemed to come from right beside her, ears perking up again. But she got over the moment of uneasiness quickly enough ... stepping slowly inside and glancing around as she followed that obvious path down the center of the cave.
"Ah ... sorry, I didn't mean to intrude," she called out, making an attempt to be polite, since she'd more or less come trotting up here without asking any kind of permission.

The farther in the lioness moved, the brighter it actually got, after the few feet of darkness where the outside light didn't reach. A hole high up in the volcano's wall, rigged with a special set of mirrors, cast light down into the den of the goddess, offering steady and adequate illumination for Sanaa's needs. If more was required, well... that's what the odd looking things on the walls were for. Bowls cut from the rock itself with a shallow trench between them. Filled with oil, the struction gave off fine light when lit, though it was only waiting at the moment.
Sanaa appeared from a pile of scraps, a bunch of animal skins clutched in her teeth. She glanced towards the entrance as she moved to her worktable in the back of her cavern, throwing the pelts down on it before she sat back and began to shred them into strips.
"What can I do for you?" She called back over her shoulder as she worked.

Layilme glanced around at everything ... quite obviously entranced by the cave and all the things in it that she could see. She hadn't intended to find a place like this today ... but now, she was glad that she had. Just wait ... until she told Mori about it!
"I'm ... not sure, really," she confessed after a moment, padding just a bit closer before pausing, watching the goddess work.
"What is this place... and ... all of this stuff?" Layil asked then, with a flick of ears and a little gesture with one paw. The question wasn't disrespectful, though, just curious.

With the hide in neat strips all layed out to dry, Sanaa turned with a frown to regard her visitor.
"You're not sure?" She said as she stood up, her wings closed along her back. She was an imposing figure, far larger than any mortal lioness and larger even than most males. "I'm surprised you came here then... This place is my den and workshop. All this 'stuff' are my creations, thing's I have thought up and made, then stored till they should be needed." She narrowed her eyes as she studied this mortal, golden wings rustling gently, though it wasn't in a menacing way. More like how a sculpture studies a ball of clay they are about to shape.
"My name is Sanaa, young one. If you didn't know, you have stumbled into the den of a goddess, specifically the goddess of crafting. I'm surprised that you couldn't tell that from the start..." Her multitude of necklaces, bracelets and adornments clattered and clicked against each other as she moved, her golden foreleg ringing when it hit the stone. She came closer to the lioness before she sat, relaxing in preparation for a chat.

Layilme offered a quick nod at that, remember the other god that she had met once before. She hadn't been all too impressed with him... but then again, she had a feeling all gods and goddesses were different, just as mortals were. And in any case, they at least deserved respect for the power they held.
"I meant no insult," she replied after a moment, with another little bob of her head. Sanaa was, at the very least, impressing Layilme with her manner and size ... not to mention all of the things in this place... which she had made.
"I wasn't aware of what this place was at first, but now it isn't hard at all to tell what you are. This is all ... very beautiful," she said then, slowly, obviously making an attempt to choose words carefully.

Sanaa smiled at the compliments, waving a paw lightly. "They are beautiful because they are perfect for their purpose." Her tail gently flicked as she eyed the mortal female, already approving of her for the simple fact that she appreciated her work. For Sanaa, that was enough reason to like anyone.
"So you really didn't have a reason to come here? That's too bad... I like it when people bring me things. They exchange them for things I have laying around and in turn, I have things to make new items with." She chuckled as she shrugged, heavy shoulders lifting and falling. Reaching to the side, she grabbed up a bit of an unfinished necklace, braiding strips of rawhide together for the band. It would look nice with some feathers dangling from it... and it was nearly impossible for the goddess to sit still and not work on something.

Ears pricked forward a bit at that, and Layilme tilted her head a bit. So ... she traded things for what she made? That was interesting...
"What sorts of things do others bring?" she asked then, moving just a little closer to watch what the goddess was doing. Perhaps she could go and get something to bring back ...

The goddess chuckled heavily as she lifted her paw, counting off a few of the things she'd recieved in trade for the items she made.
"Well, I've gotten feathers from other gods, odd bones of all sizes... pretty stones, or rare kinds of stones. Unsual pieces of bone, things humans have left behind..." She waved her paw, indicating etc. and so forth. "I take many things in trade, but I like things that are unusual or rare best. I'm constantly in need of material to work with because I use it up rather quickly."
The golden lioness shrugged as she smiled at the little blue mortal, her golden wings rustling. "Sometimes the strangest things make the best material. Something no one else might think useful and I can make it into a most beautiful necklace."

Layilme nodded at that, understanding after a moment how all the things in this place had been made from stuff that others had brought here. Thinking for a minute or two, she suddenly stood up. "Actually, I just remembered something I saw on the way here ... I could go and get it, if you want," she offered.
As for what it was, exactly... she'd let that be a surprise.

The goddess perked up immediently at the mention of something, her expression going suddenly from a little bored, but friend, to intensly interested and focused.
"Oh? Yes, I would very much like to see what you found that you think would interest me. Go ahead and get it, and I'll be here..." She waved a paw at the lioness to get her on her way and turned back to the piles that littered her cave, all but diving in head first as she started to rummage for something. She'd remembered a half finished something she'd tossed here the other day, leaving it for when she found the last bit to make it complete. Whatever it was the mortal had found just might be what was needed to finsih it, and just the thought of that had Sanaa squirming in excitement.
She loved nothing more than to fulfill her purpose in life and create something beautiful from the material around her.

Layilme nodded quickly at that and turned to pad out - heading back down the path she had come up by.
Once she was back on flat ground, the lioness broke into a sort of ground-eating trot, not wanting to make the goddess wait too long for what she was going to get.
Aaah, there it was! She had seen it on the way here, under a scraggly sort of tree ... somehow, a bird had died there - and thus far, nothing had shown up to eat the thing except for bugs.
Meaning that most of the feathers were still intact, not to mention ... she was fairly sure Sanaa could do something with the bones as well once feathers and flesh were gone. Layilme had left it alone before simply she wasn't all that hungry and didn't feel like getting rid of all the bugs.
Now, though, she flipped the bird over with a paw and batted at it a few times to drive the worst of them off before leaning down to pick the bird up in his jaws, turning then ... and heading back toward the cave.
And once she arrived, she padded over and dropped the thing at Sanaa's paws with a little bob of her head that was almost a sort of bow.
